The Best LG Infinia 55LW5600 55-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Smart TV and Four Pairs of 3D Glasses Review
Don't permit the price fool you.
Initially, I planned on you get one with the new Sharp 60" Quattron models, and headed to some nearby big box store to look into the selection. Picture was most significant in my opinion, where I had been prepared to pay a plasma whether it blew me away, but I was definitely siding towards LCD or LED. I wasn't too shocked to find that although plasmas were nice, they weren't "that" nice, and settled to the Sharp.
On my way out, I decided to check several the 3D displays, simply to be 100% sure I wasn't making a purchase I'd regret after 3D content became more widespread. I viewed a number of Panasonic models with active shutter glasses, and discovered that the 3D looked acceptable, though the glasses weren't comfortable on my head or to my eyes. A DirecTV rep all but insisted which i examine a high-end Samsung model linked to a DirecTV receiver, and that i immediately noticed that getting the thing to come up with 3D apparently required messing with the DirecTV remote, the Samsung remote, and continually re-syncing the active glasses. "No, thanks." I figured.
Then I noticed an unloved LG display, having a bucket (yes, an authentic bucket) of scratched passive glasses. No way was this planning to look really good, nevertheless it wasn't like Some use a few minutes to spare.
I was absolutely mesmerised. Certainly, the best 3D experience I have seen. Standing about six feet from the screen, there was clearly a scene from an IMAX documentary the place where a fish seriously appeared as if it arrived on the scene about halfway between where I became standing, and where the TV was. Out of the box, the picture quality for this TV is actually awesome. Much better than I remembered it finding myself a store, for certain. But, I did so notice that motion seemed really... weird. I wasn't sure if it was my satellite receiver, or even the TV, but things just didn't manage to move naturally. Following a little while adjusting the dejudder and deblur settings, I became creating the motion normal. But, I assumed, I may as well calibrate everything. Employing a combination of the calibration feature on the Life Blu-Ray and recommended settings on various forums, I was able to achieve a totally stunning picture. Seriously, this thing appears like it cost hundreds upon hundreds more if it is calibrated.
1080i / 1080p content looked absolutely brilliant. SDTV, conversely, isn't best I have seen. It's certainly acceptable, and arguably on the better side of what's commonly situated on LCD / LED models, but I'd probably you will want something different if most of your viewing is going to be sub-DVD quality content.
Then arrived to get rid of out the 3D. I snagged a copy of Tron: Legacy (Four-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy) and spent almost all of the movie sitting with a dumb smile in my face. The image quality and depth were outstanding. Don't fall for the "active / passive" hype. Watching 3D quite happy with the LG's passive glasses is certain to please anybody who are able to see. All night time for my memory of the Samsung set, in the event the LG detects 3D, a box happens that informs you to put your glasses on. That's all. No messing around endlessly with modes to have it working.
I then made a decision to have fun with the 2D-to-3D function on some HD channels and standard Blu-Ray discs, and was really pretty surprised. More often than not, the television usually process the look as you'd expect to see 3D. It's not something I'd need to do continuously, however i ought to say, watching Moulin Rouge! [Blu-ray] with 2D-to-3D was really pretty awesome.
The built-in applications were kind of a mixed bag. Obtaining the TV on my small WPA2 wireless network was pretty simple, as well as the Wii-inspired remote worked much better than I'd expected. While I lost 5" of screen real estate property over some tips i planned on buying originally, the gap in display quality alone would be a decent tradeoff. Getting 3D was gravy, to put it mildly. Unless it sets the house burning down, I'd be challenged if we have to recommend everything else inside a approximately 200 dollars.
UPDATE - ISSUES FIXED: Look at the 47" model instead

I just learned a few things.
First coming from all, I discovered that bigger might not be better.
We had purchased the 47" version of the TV ([...]) and were absolutely blown away with the image quality... it really is PRISTINE! (Easily a 5-star+ set.) In fact, we had been so pleased with that unit that individuals thought organic beef want simply a slightly larger TV instead. So, we ordered the 55" model and planned on returning the 47" one. Well, amazingly, we're sending back the 55" TV. The image is noticeably less pristine (grainy/pixelated/dull - even around the highest resolution blu-ray content... and much more surprisingly, the 3D was causing us to sick. (So strange, since we totally LOVED the 3D on the 47" model.) It is a shame... because we were really looking forward to the bigger size... but we'd much rather have quality over quantity.
Interestingly, it was my lady (who claims to not spot the "soap opera effect" from the new LCDs) who was most disturbed from the quality loss. It was glaringly obvious to her (because it would have been to me... though I didn't desire to boost the comfort, since i have wanted the greater model). If my partner notices the main difference, believe me... it's there. I later did a side-by-side comparison involving the 55LW5600 and the 47LW5600 which confirmed our suspicions.
Here's a bit more detail:
IMAGE QUALITY:
On this 55" model, image quality of perhaps the highest resolution blu-ray discs was noticably less sharp, more pixelated/grainy, and overall just more dull. I played extensively using the settings but could not overcome these issues.
Alternatively, images around the 47" model and crisp and GORGEOUS. My hunch would be that the resolution on both units is the similar, but it is spread on the greater screen area around the larger unit, inducing the ability to more easily see image flaws. I have not found specs to ensure this, though. We sit about 10-12 feet away from the TV, so we did notice a substantial improvement within our perception from the image quality when moving back about 5 feet. But, the arrangement individuals room will not allow us sit this distance in the TV... so the 47" could be the obvious choice for us.
I would claim that you shouldn't look at the 55" version should you decide on sitting closer than 12 feet to the TV. Further out than that, maybe you have an improved experience.
3D EFFECT:
I also discovered that 3D can (under certain circumstances) make us sick. Strange, because we've always enjoyed 3D in the theater... and now we absolutely LOVED 3D for the 47" version of this TV. But, with this 55" model, there was some strange fluttering effects, specially in fast-motion video. We also noticed some kind of strange boxy/pixelated effect during quick scene changes, or when going from bright to dark (and vice versa) scenes.
None of those 3D issues occurred using the 47" version. In reality, not only was the look impeccable, nevertheless the 3D looked absolutely gorgeous (and appeared to be fully HD quality without noticeable resolution loss).
So, should you be debating (like we did) about if you should choose LG's 47" version (47LW5600), or go a bit larger using the 55" model... I'd suggest keeping the 47" TV if you don't is going to be sitting a reasonably significant distance out of the set.
So, what else did I learn? It seems my wife's a videophile! Is not?!? :-)

UPDATE - ISSUES FIXED:
We have discovered methods to make adjustments who have COMPLETELY ELIMINATED the problems we spoke of earlier!! So now we have changed our star rating from 2 in order to 5. (Yeah, it's very much of the improvement!) :-)
2D IMAGE FIX: I would like to let everyone are aware that I had been able to help the 2D video quality of the 55" model SIGNIFICANTLY using the settings given on hometheater.com [hometheater+dot+com]. (Just look for "LG 55LW5600 3D LCD HDTV".) Blu-rays now look extremely good... and a lot much better than the default settings.
3D IMAGE FIX: Additionally, we found a setting about the TV that permits you to adjust the 3D image such who's positions the look further back into the screen (essentially virtually giving us the extra 3 feet back we felt we needed to eliminate eye-strain and nausea). Gain access to, simply click the quick menu button *while 3D content is onscreen*. Then, select the top replacement for adjust the 3D settings. A Great Value
Background - This television is placed on the provided stand and added to top of a media chest. The tv screen sits above the seated viewers. Replaces a 5 yr old 40" Sony Bravida LCD panel. Associated with a HD TiVo along with a Sony Blu Ray.
Set-Up - Easily. The manual is adequate, although not excellent. The "Pro" video set-up can be a nice feature and has got the picture looking its best quickly. The HDMI cables come out of the back of the telly in a right angle around the left side rear. Placement is not optimal since HDMI cables have a tendency to be stiff and sharp bends usually are not recommended. There exists enough room to generate the gentle bend and align the cables, but tie wraps certainly are a must for over one cable.
Stand - Basic. Swivels directly to left, but a tilt feature really should have been included. See comments about 3D for explanation. A cable management slot around the stand would also have been nice to clean-up the cables this sort of not wall mounting.
Picture - Sharp and clear. No motion artifacts. Better than the Sony it replaces, but it was expected due to technology improvements considering that the acquiring the Sony.
Sound - Decent for ultra-thin panel televisions. If you are searching for audio quality, I would recommend an external amplifier and speakers. For normal viewing, the sound is acceptable and voices are evident.
3D Blu ray - Much like my expensive active 3D television minus the flicker and associated issues. Even though image quality just isn't as high, I challenge most viewers to see the difference. As mentioned in other reviews, there exists some ghosting in the event the television tilt won't point the tv straight on the viewer (A tilting stand would have been a nice feature for LG to provide, but alas, it only swivels!). To the correct and left in the television, there is absolutely no degradation from the 3D experience.
2D to 3D - This television does an exceptional job of converting 2D into 3D. This indicates to excel once the film has depth of field along with the less action, though the overall experience is excellent. Determined by my prior exposure to my Active 3D television, I was expecting much less expensive and found this to become a compelling 3D experience.

Magic Wand Remote - Think Wii controller for a television. Comparable to others, I'd downside to the response from the remote and located it worked best while i was sitting straight as you're watching television. I felt like the program might use further optimization and that i can't locate this currently as product differentiation and i also may not buy this television because of this capability alone.
Recommendation - I recommend this television that i'm delighted by purchasing.
Excellent passive 3-D set.
Is it as being good as my active 3-D set? Not nearly, as the active has better picture, nevertheless the passive set comes out at the top even in the plasma in terms of deficiency of ghosting/crosstalk goes. I do think most casual 3-D viewers could be quite pleased. 2-D to 3-D conversion is just about the best I've come across also, though I would rarely use this feature.
I wouldn't call active obsolete (in the end, 3-D content works on either type of set, just like it is possible to choose from LCD, plasma or DLP, you are able to choose active or passive) in case they are able to receive the resolution to be better (full 1080p in both eyes) I'd personally expect the marketplace to go into the passive direction.
2-D picture is great, and also the various apps and internet features are well executed.

I are not through all the features but it's obvious in my experience until this may be the latest in tv technology with a reasonable price. also the glasses dont feel weird or cause me to feel feel sick. at 15-35 bucks for extras it's really worth expense of the tv screen. there exists a better version however, not available yet and measures 3500 bucks(last I checked I possibly could be wrong).
With 3D Hd content ended up being be at half resolution but I haven't noticed a drop in clarity. picture looks high definition constantly. Should you notice a picture not as sharp your probably looking too difficult for flaws.
I researched for months before I chose to get a 3D tv. I discovered LG being leading the way in new technology. Samsung is not far behind . both call each other names but make good products there competitors are dropping prices for individuals. thanks Mexico. sure next season they will are less expensive plus a better model should come out,but keep holing out and you never enjoy 3D At home.
Over this all Tv is awesome. Recommend the safety plan (it really is new tech. and may have bugs) and you will probably not be sorry. +BONUS no sales tax online.
Early review
I plan on writing a more detailed review while i do more with the TV, until then:
First the 3D
It's awesome! Exactly like inside the movies. It leaps out at you. I aquired the Canyon DVD and the water bubbles just float till you and water splashing forced me to be blink! We also bought Intensify 3D also it was just like seeing it with the movies. The image is quite bright and looks beautiful. If you're concerned you won't ever see "full 1080P" due to technology don't be. I watched that same Canyon DVD in store using the active shutter glasses and saw zero difference in quality.
I played a small amount of Cod Black Ops on my own PS3 to find out the gaming side appeared as if and it seems to only use the storyline mode, but woah 3D gaming is wicked. It's like playing a video by having a view master.
The 2D picture
Is excellent. There were a 50" Sony LCD 1080i and this picture is way superior. There is a certain realism which comes through. We noticed it first at our local Biggest score store. Some TVs looked like this article was taken like from live TV and we were pleased to see this TV also producing this kind of picture.
As for your 2D to 3D, Cleaning it once a it over a show being shown in HD and saw no difference. I am going to experiment more by it since others having success using this feature.
It features a lot of other goodies like Netflix, YouTube etc. The USB internet "card" (as being a thumb drive device) plugs inside back and the TV recognizes it. Coming to the Network build I easily linked to my home's WiFi along my Netflix account up super fast. You'll be able to embark on Youtube, but I saw no way to sign in to my account if you decide to have subscriptions or your videos this is not your better method to check those out. The browser works fine, but does not have Flash and i am unsure if it's or will probably be supported. It incorporates two remotes, the smaller works much like the Wii controller so you use a mouse-like interface, pretty cool. There are many apps and games, but I have not played with those yet.
Negatives so far
One thing that's disappointing in my experience is always that there isn't any RCA (Red/White) audio outs through the TV. Just an optical audio out. My multichannel surround sound system doesn't need an optical in so I can't use it while using TV.
Also the remote does not have separate source buttons to quickly jump in one input to a new (Cable to DVD for instance). You have to press the one "Input" button that takes you to a screen that permits you to choose. One nice touch however is that it appears to sense whenever you turn something on. For example, if Im watching Cable TV i quickly turn the DVD/Blueray player on the TV "sees" this and switches for the new source (DVD player) automatically.
These are initially my (and lengthy) impressions up to now. In a nutshell, I'm really impressed with all the quality picture on this TV as well as the technology it uses. I'm very relieved i don't have to use (and buy) heavy, battery operated and expensive glasses to find out amazing hi def 3D in my lounge!

Amazing TV!
I visited some major box store to match this set to some other active 3D sets, and enjoyed LG's passive 3D absolutely. Not simply include the glasses more comfortable and far cheaper, nevertheless the 3D about this set just appeared to cash more 'pop' into it. The active sets were ok, though the glasses Cleaning it once a were uncomfortable, and so on surface of everything, active 3D just didn't appear to have exactly the same depth with it. I needed also find out about passive 3D losing the HD quality and some people noticing resolution lines. That is the primary reason I want to to see it for myself. Some tips i welcomed in store and also at residence is that if you sit in a few feet from the screen, the lines do become slightly apparent in still shots. However, while i duplicated to a normal viewing distance just for this set (7-12ft), I will no longer noticed any diminished quality. Together with content stated in 3D, this TV may also convert 2D content to 3D, i first thought will be marginal at best. After by using this looking for a month now, I have arrived at love this feature much more than I imagined I'd and often don my 3D glasses for Netflix, cable, and non 3D-encoded movies. While not as effective as 3D encoded content, the TV does do an amazing job of converting. Finally on 3D, make sure you get an HDMI 1.4 cable for 3D content, and will you will need over the included 4 glasses, grab other for reasonable!
Yes, the 3D is excellent and that i just spent an excellent long paragraph praising it, however the other features and overall picture also deserve similar praise. Brightness, contrast, black levels, and about anything else are superb. The LED's permit the TV to create quality blacks with no graying, no flashlight effect, and a standard good, crisp, clean picture. The picture wizard does a fantastic job of allowing you to adjust the settings to have an optimal viewing experience for your room. The smart TV features are great, but could certainly use some improvement (hopefully more apps ahead in the future). I mostly only use it to Netflix, however you can YouTube, look into the weather, and also other things I haven't explored. The TV includes an Ethernet port for internet, as well as a wireless dongle should you prefer fewer wires poking into the back of your respective TV.
Overall, An excellent opportunity this TV to anyone, hands down. In case you have any doubts about it I would suggest the thing is that this TV personally and compare it to others prior to buying but you'll be as impressed at all like me.

So, we ordered the 55" model (55LW5600) and planned on returning the 47" one.
Well, amazingly, we're sending back the 55" TV. The style is noticeably less pristine (grainy/pixelated/dull - even for the highest resolution blu-ray content... and even more surprisingly, the 3D was causing us to sick. (So strange, since we totally LOVE the 3D about the 47" model.) Too bad... because i was really excited about the larger size... but we'd prefer to have quality over quantity.

I surely could improve the 2D video excellence of the 55" model significantly utilizing the settings given on hometheater.com ([...]). Blu-rays now look fantastic... perhaps still not quite as good as the 47" version, but A lot better than the default settings. So much improved, in reality, when we just wanted the tv screen for 2D viewing, I might no more hesitate to maintain the 55" version.
Alas, although the 3D image quality has improved around the 55" set while using new settings, you still should be considered a a minimum of 13-15 feet out of the set a eyes from wigging out when viewing objects which can be nearest you in 3D space. Objects built back into the screen fare the very best, and border on stunning... the closer the object on the viewer, the extra likely eye-strain/sickness will result.
Again, none of these issues were informed about this 47" set. This has created the conclusion on which set to help keep far more difficult. For the present time, 3D is a enough feature for individuals to keep us leaning toward keeping this 47" set. Decisions, decisions... :-)

comfortabe & natural viewing
I went along to my nearby store and cafully watched thses tvs for 25 minutes each.
samsung has detail and sharp but that doesnt mean lg is not. I think samsung has been doing exceptional job for this regard this coming year.
I was mainly looking closely how the 3d performs as 2d area has already been good on todays tvs.
overall, lg gave convenient, flicker-free, bright, and finest of, natural 3d experence.
If i didnt compare directly, Also i could have liked samsung as samsung didnt feel much of a flickering or cross talks if any.
but when seen alongside, the gap is apparent easily.
lg gave not merely natural, comfortable image on the watch's screen, its hard to invest words, but overall everything feels simply simplified and just comfortable to watch.
Compare to lg, samsung gave rather darker image, too.
also, for fast paced scene samsung provide a little judder looking artifacts just as if the glass shutter couldnt catch up the velocity in the scene. Whereas lg simply doesnt have issue with having passive system.
some people say passive cuts resolusion in halves so you see lines between lines.
you do see these line when you're getting really near the tv. When sit by farther distance you'll normally watch, thses little lines disapper. But just like you know shutter glass are flickering facing your eyes, and yes it enables you to uncomfortable, this lines on lg, although may not visible in normal distance, may make you uncomfortable.
so I think which you value more.
To me, lg has overall better image on my eyes, that's, no flicker or crosstalk whatsoever, much bright image, and natural viewing without sense of any artifacts.
I guess I can summarize such as this.
samsung is like some high tech glass does fine job looking at your vision to make 3d, and lg simply feel you just aren't wearing any glasses in any respect. when you are immersed in to the content, glass simply disappears from your awareness.

Feature rich to get a competitive cost!
For $1300 I became able to find a 55" 3d HDTV with only about each of the great features. The TV has been doing use for about 2 months now and I really like it! Here were my main decision points;
1) Price - Dollar for dollar the opposite big brands can't stock up. LG represented the best overall value PLUS LG supplies a factory direct extended warranty for a cheaper price than other people. For five years of LG "in home" coverage I paid $179. Sony, Samsung, etc will not offer factory direct warranties.
2) Sort of 3D - There is a choice... active shutter 3D or passive 3D (like in the movies). Seeing reviews and every one of the advantages and CONs I opted to go with passive 3D. If the movies on the theater are in passive 3D then which is adequate for me. BUT moreover I needed to take into consideration 2 things.... vision strain/headaches and value of glasses. Passive 3D can be a winner in categories. Less overall eye strain in comparison to active shutter in addition to the glasses are very inexpensive. Inside my honest opinion, passive 3D could be the approach to take. Down the road 3D viewing will not require glasses (new technology will be developed).... until then you should only have those two choices.

Overall, all things considered, this LG 55LW5600 can be a homer! Add in a factory backed 5 year extended warranty only for $179.... I've a great theater setup and little bit of mind... at a cost to actually be happy with!

Great LED 3D TV

I am upgrading from your 3 yr old Sharp Aquos 46" LCD that i thought would have been a great TV however the LG has brighter colors, darker blacks and just a sharper picture all over. I simply have had the oppertunity to test the 3D on the few games yet it's amazing. I such as the passive 3D on the active because Some experience any headache despite player for the 30 minutes straight. With the active glasses I attempted with a friend's, I'd a headache after Ten minutes in order that is definitely a plus.

I am Pretty pleased to locate I didnrrrt have to compromise ANYTHING to visit passive 3D technology. LG makes an incredible TV i would recommend it to anyone. This sounds like I'm being paid for this. No Way. I'm just that surprised that passive glasses is really so good!
Great TV
I looked at what made sense personally and my children and decided the most crucial feature I needed was a 3D picture that most 5 members of my loved ones could sit around and watch if you don't take a home loan from the glasses. I went with the 55LW5600 passive 3D.
Wow ! I developed a great choice.
The 3D picture is fantastic. It's very clear and looks so alive. I purchased a 3D Blu Ray player also, and so i do not know in the event that is important, but we are so awe struck from the 3D that our kids has demanded i go out and purchase more 3D movies. I broke down and bought another 2 list of glasses for $24 and today friends can join in the fun. The 3D experience has changed into a hit.
The 2D to 3D format is fairly cool. It isn't quite 3D, however it does add depth. My spouse watched Dwts within this mode and loved it and i also watched a hockey game plus it was great.
We have HD channels on our cable system which picture is also amazing. Again, specific and sharp. I do not watch digital channels anymore unless I've got to.
Set up was easy. The device recocnized the Blu Ray and also the internet. Virtually, use it and go. we have Netflix, which is very rewarding, however i haven't spent time and effort on the other Aps yet. I additionally have never tried any video games about this TV. Also, we sit about 10 feet in the TV and am glad we bought the 55 inch.

Our First HD TV
We are glad we did. This set has exceeded our expectations on every level. Well, perhaps that was easy to complete even as had little expectations or must i say, we didn't know what to expect. First, I'll discuss our experience transporting and setting the tv screen up.
My thought upon getting my on the job the television inside box was which it was a blow up TV. It seemed some size within the store, nevertheless it expanded somewhat mysteriously if we had to input it inside truck. The other is the complete setup screen where you can fiddle in your heart's delight tweaking the various elements of the HD experience. Since I'm slightly deaf from a lot of motorcycle riding, I changed the sound setting to some type of hard of hearing enhancement and am very happy to report which it works wonderfully. I can now watch and clearly hear speech at volume levels my partner says are happy on her behalf too. That is impossible on any device before. If only I really could give 6 stars for that quality of sound.
The TV picture is amazing in every respects. There is no bleeding, no flashlighting and no buzzing or another annoyances. It is simply ideal. Given an excellent input for instance a Blu-ray DVD or perhaps an HD cable 'cast, the image will cover anything from beyond expectations to stunning. We watched an HD cable 'cast of something about The exorcist along with the Stiths (#3 or #6 of the Alien number of movies depending on how one counts) and now we could not believe the utter perfection in the picture. This is a superb tv specifically watching tv in daytime in brighter rooms as it carries a matte screen finish.
GAMERS! This TV comes with some lag. May possibly not be noticeable to you personally as it is lower then another TVs i've played on. Interface isn't the best and isn't the worst i know of. Magic wand is sorta fiction. Commemorate some things much easier to take care of and a few things not.
UPDATE (Aug 23, 2011): For those of you which might be serious gamers and wish as little lag as you can. By using a VGA connection from the Xbox to the TV reduces the lag to almost non existent. Warning it lets you do decrease the standard of the display a little.
Amazing quality for your price
I found a much better price for this set than Amazon was selling it for at the time, i really contacted and Amazon decided to price match and also to still supply free freight however the price matched site charged shipping! I'm an Amazon Prime member, and really desired to understand it on Amazon anyways....so I took up.
I got the set A couple of days later, and i'm ecstatic that I got this set! The image quality and local dimming are fantastic, even though you go about doing must change some default settings right out of the box (Real Cinema sucks and makes everything resemble a soap opera). Again, Some have this TV for 3D content, but I gave it a trial on a number of the Direct TV 3D channels also it looked great! And, surprisingly, it converted 2D->3D effectively (though it worked a lot better for animated stuff). I managed to get 8 pairs of glasses while using set, therefore i think I'm looking for life from that front. I still have no idea of that I'll make use of the 3D on a regular basis, but it does look wonderful about this set. I just read around that individuals complain concerning the decreased quality of passive 3D, however it does look fantastic on this set and that i can't use whatever lines or ghosting in any way.

With both the expert modes along with the five preset modes, you have a total of seven choices -- you are going to undoubtedly choose one that satisfies the needs you have.
I bought a 3D movie and was pleasantly surprised in the experience. Four of us watched "Pirates from the Caribbean" and everyone enjoyed the 3D movie. That movie's 3D experience was much more watching 3D "within" the screen in contrast to having images project in the room. I imagine that the "projection" style 3D experience has more regarding the disc than the television--I did see a demo with this particular unit where undersea creatures seemed to be floating outside the screen within the room. If you would like to watch a 3D movie, you'll also need to purchase a 3D BluRay player.
You may also convert normal 2D TV shows to 3D. That feature works ok, but isn't same full experience being a 3D BluRay disc. I doubt if I'll ever utilize 2D to 3D feature (you need to placed on the 3D glasses for that feature just like watching 3D movies). There are really merely a number of 3D movies for sale at this time (mostly cartoons and sci-fi type movies)-- and they're about twice the price of an ordinary DVD, but which will all change as increasing numbers of 3D sets can be bought.
The wireless internet feature works perfectly and was simple to set up--updates to the TV are installed automatically via wireless also. You plug in a small wireless receiver which comes with the set into one of many USB ports about the rear with the set when you initially work it to get the wireless features to function.

Great quality... 3D, SmartTV!
It is light, thin, bright (LED), crystal-clear HD pictures, good non-HD pictures too, affordable price (under $1,400 since Nov. 2011), and top price/performance ratio (value) i think. But most importantly, one of the most pleasant surprise may be the SmartTV, that i actually didn't care much regarding it before the purchase, but only realized it more how it adds more quality and convenience in today's world where you have almost constant, immediate access to the zillions of contents on the Internet thru your smartphones, tablets the ones iGears. Although SmartTV features (including web browser, AppStore, contents available) continue to be in their beginning in comparison with others like Apple's AppStore, its built-in wireless and wired network connections give a fundamental infrastructure connecting a TV to the web. Consider it if you'll! You could update software/firmware for the TV. You can connect to Netflix & Youtube among many others, and usage of contents provided inside the "LG store", a few of which have the freedom of charge. Weight loss contents available, i think some day I could cut my cable subscriptions. Last most famously, this is the 3D TV. I had seen it available demo also it looked good. I liked the passive 3D technology since the glasses are lighter, simple to use, and way less costly than active 3D glasses. In fact, 4 pairs of 3D glasses were in the package.
In summary, over about a month Used to do my research and compared several brands,sizes,and models (including Sharp, Samsung, Sony, Vizio, etc.), before choosing this LG, 55", LED, 3D, Smart TV. It turned out that 3D and SmartTV include the two most crucial new features that would keep this TV looking decent in 3-5 years at the very least. The remainder of the other features have grown to be commodity and don't matter much among brands, and typical human eyes probably cannot tell the subtle differences anyway.
Fantastic 3D HDTV
Choosing from a passive 3D and and an active 3D TV was a no brainer having seen at action on the same store. I have heard that passive 3D cuts the resolution in two. The only draw back I needed using this type of TV and it's also a common downside to many LED HDTVs which is the input lag during gaming. When gaming the controllers may it be a joystick, mouse, game pads or TrackIR, all of these had what seemed to be a 1/2 second delay from the moment control button is pressed or joystick or mouse gone to live in the time it really happened on-screen. I discovered it to create winning contests impossible regardless if it setting was set to gaming mode. However I just read in another forum any particular one approach to making your way around this dilemma ended up being plug laptop computer in the VGA connection about the TV instead of the HDMI connection. A current standard HDMI cable works perfect so never allow the salesman talk you into getting a $120.00 HDMI cable.
Also make sure that the store you purchase from will price match, meaning if another store locally is selling the very same tv for no more they'll match it. The salesperson I managed went as much as to complete the cost matching for me on the spot on the internet found out that Biggest score was selling a similar TV at a lower price and offered me that price plus 10% from that price and threw within an additonal 6 pairs of glasses plus can give me a refund for that differance in price basically look for a discounted than I purchased it for within 45 days following your purchase.

Frys Electronics had this TV at $1199 with 8 pairs of glasses. Got it with 36 months free financing. Can't beat that.
Brought it home and along with it looked great. Researched some videophile sites and tweaked several settings. Video is excellent. 4 HDMI inputs. 2D to 3D conversion is actually cool. Although what that gives you is depth of picture. Don't expect objects to result from the screen. And we don't have a very Blue ray dvd player however i did invite my mom over who I helped purchase a new laptop which just happened to experience a Blue ray dvd player drive. Watched "How to practice your Dragon" BD disk. You can definitely differentiate in video quality over our 720P Panasonic plasma television upstairs. Build DNLA server to pull content from your laptop. Worked like a charm. Wasn't hard to do.
I really like the playback quality Wizard feature. It walks you thru video settings and makes it easier to tweak settings for your tastes.
Online content and apps do not rival our Roku. Hopefully which will change. Netflix has a little longer to load, maybe Around 10 secs or higher. Can't do Netflix 3D from TV Netflix but tend to if we connect Roku to TV? Hope they alter by using firmware/software upgrade.
I are aware that Passive 3D cuts down on the HD signal but I hated the active glasses. Heavy, didn't fit over my prescription glasses. Batteries, syncing. Pain in the backside. Plus the active glasses cost an arm along with a leg. Passive glasses are cheap. And did I say we've got 8 of these? Including a $200 rebate on VOD services they will said we're able to use for our Netflix account. We'll see. Had to submit form to LG. Know in 6 weeks...
Pro's - Value. Excellent picture. 2D to 3D conversion. 4 HDMI inputs. Wireless N adapter included. Netflix. Lot's of options to tweak video settings.
Con's - Very little streaming options or apps compared to Roku. Audio needs to be arrived to 50% sometimes. Just doesn't seem loud enough to me. Wand controller - Don't like it. It loses it's calibration constantly. Found an app on my small son's ipod that enables me to manage the tv screen. Superior to the wand.
We're really impressed with LG. My spouse, who's more of a videophile than I will be, really loves this TV. We're looking to get a Blue ray dvd player player. Either Playstation 3, LG BD690 or OPPO 93. I'll update review even as do.
Oh, and something more thing. Amazon, I cannot build a review unless I've ordered something recently? Really? I come here to get opinions from other consumers. Restricting that to recent buyers means you will see less advice and more of your reason to look else where...
Update 5/14/11 - Frys had LG LHB336 blu ray home theatre kit onsale for $229. We have it. Sounds great. So we can observe netflix in 3D. Going to have to rent or purchase a true 3D movie only to observe how good it can.
Update 5/18/11 - Downloaded a 3D video file yesterday. Had to convert it to AVI format. Look at video format specs on LG's website. Blu Ray disk player can play certain formats. Will not likely play those self same formats off a USB Harddrive. Which means you can't just copy a DVD formated video file onto hard drive. Were required to convert one of our vacation videos from DVD format to AVI to look at it.
BTW, the 3D video was awesome! The 2D to 3D (while still interesting) is only a cheap trick compared to and actual 3D video. Video was clear, vivid and coming out of the tv.

Great TV!!! Ideal for Sports, Movies or Gaming.
A few days ago another individual mentioned each of the ghosting if you watch sports which scared us a lot, as it is often mostly what I watch. After installing the television and calibrating it I must say that I am extremely content with this purchase. I watched 3 hours of soccer on friday in HD and it was superb, no ghosting in any respect. Then last night watched an excellent football game on ESPN HD also it looks amazing again, with no ghosting or blur.
I have played BF3 on it also and all I could think are WOW. The sport just feels and looks different using this type of TV.
I did take TRUMOTION off since I can't stand the soap opera effect in movies.
Don't hesitate, this TV rocks !.

A 3D impression review
Con:
1. Out of the box 3D image quality isn't greatest however with just 10-20
minutes of configuration it's (for the not enough an improved word) AMAZING. If 10-20
minutes is a lot to enough time in your case... Oh never mind...
Pros:
1. 3D Movies (using PS3) are excellent (colors are bright and image is actually
clearer than watching a film in 2D).
2. 3D gaming (PS3) is mesmerizing. I have never tried using my 360 for gaming yet.
3. 2D -> 3D gaming brings new life to games you've already finished and also
makes games you haven't played an extremely great experience.
4. 2D -> 3D movies/tv series (blu-ray) and tv programs (cable) sometimes works great
and other times doesn't add much.
5. Customization of 3D depth etc.
The Review:
In some online (professional sites) reviews as being a con they are saying that this 3D picture is soft in comparison to active. IMO and friends of mine this is soooo not true. I have both Passive and Active Tv's (Active TV is top quality Samsung UN55D8000) and I'm sorry but Passive won't lose ANYTHING in terms of 3D color, image, depth and it sure isn't "soft".
The whole HD diminishment of quality can be a crock (with one exception so far. See 3D gaming). Sure, if you are using some hi-tech gear that may detect the main difference or sitting 1 foot before the tv (would you this anyways) but my eyes and 30 + my buddies can't notice. Yes. 30 + my buddies see no difference (not one) and choose to wear the Passive glasses.
Movies in 3D: Watch REAL 3D movies like Tangled, Legends from the Guardian, IMAX Hubble side by side with the Active and Passive tv and you'll see NO difference besides the fact that your vision don't hurt, no ghosting etc. on Passive (I'm about 6 feet far from my TV).
3D gaming: Killzone 3 - The exception in quality was this game which seemed pixilated compared to the 2D version. Don't misunderstand me, it was still really fun to learn and look at but simply significantly less crisp as other games.
God of War Origins Collection - What great depth it provided. It was like playing a brand new game running down corridors and.
Wipeout - The depth and color was perfect.
Motorstorm - Great depth and things flying out at you.
Super Stardust HD - The shades are vibrant so when you die the explosion made my son and the friend duck and say "Whoooa!!". It was pretty funny.
2D -> 3D gaming: I've played Batman: Arkham Asylum, Infamous 2 and God of War 3. I'm not likely to get into detail about each one but I will say this. ALL of these worked being converted then one interesting happened as well. The 3D presented an even more crisp color to each of the games. What liberating it turned out playing these games in 3D. It turned out like I was playing another game although I've spent many hours playing them during the past. I can't wait to learn on my own 360 and play games like Dead Space.
2D -> 3D movies/tv series (bluray): There were a number of movies that looked fantastic in the conversion (Green Hornet, Avatar, and ways to Train Your Dragon). Others (color wise) looked good however the 3D was less efficient (Battlestar Galactica (new series) and Transformers 1.
2D -> 3D tv (Comcast): I've only done a couple of football games (1 NCAA and 1 NFL) and a hockey game and they also were alright. Not the very best nevertheless the 3D still worked and again the colours were sharper.
3D customization: There are many blogs on the market that inform you the best way to create the tv screen. Each the first is different for that form of room layout (size, brightness, darkness). No matter which one you select it doesn't require much time to essentially make your TV look wonderful. You could also adjust the depth of the 3D image that's really impressive.
I'm no Active hater (I really do own both) and that i still love my Active TV but when you want a great TV get a Passive TV for hundreds or else thousands cheaper and you will probably stop disappointed.

Great tv - I'll Keep this short and simple
Setup:
Pretty easy. I'd say an easy 9/10... there are lots of "setups" available just for this tv, yet , it would not make inexperienced (who's a minimum of slightly tech-savvy) long in any way to acquire this tv being confident. Do whatever you desire using the sharpness/tint/color/etc....but as others have suggested, similar to I, I'd personally let down trumotion and put local dimming on low (local dimming helps a bit with black and shadows, and not as much about this tv as it is often edge lit). Basically a few things i did for that brightness/contrast/backlight was watch a show like Mad Men where there arent A lot of dark scenes, mostly just people, and simply receive the light levels to the point where the black looks pretty close to true black, but not dark colored, but also to the point where the sunshine (especially at the bottom corners) stops "bleeding" in to the tv. I think my setup is one area like: backlight - 80 contrast - 85 brightness - 65 or something that is....just tweak it until you like what you see. I will likely be tweaking it for awhile yet, using the expert controls to dial in what exactly we need. The inputs selection is definetley great, i can't see many people experiencing difficulity at all with hooking some misconception to the tv. It's pretty straight forward. Even plugging in usb hard disks is quite simple to use and takes no brains.
Picture/Performance:
9/10. For the cost of this tv, I will be absolutely mesmerised. I can honestly say it's the most effective colour of any tv That i've ever looked over, and also this was obtained, like I said, by incorporating easy tweaking. The colors absolutely jump out at you. Compared for the Sony Bravia line, there isn't a single thing I do not like Superior relating to this tv. Compared to many of Samsung's TV's, however, the picture for the samsung (in my opinion) is slightly sharper and crisper, and i believe that's the general consensus, nevertheless the color and sheer "presence" of the tv is much better. So with regards to price comparisons, it only comes down to 7 things for most of us seriously considering tv's similar to this: 3D, Wifi, size, image quality, quality, ease of use, and value. The LG takes at least 6 of people things. The only complaints I have is always that there's slight light bleed in the bottom corners, but with a certain amount of tweaking it is possible to bring an excellent black picture with minimal light pollution back to this tv.
- 3D - amazing....I would not have got all a whole lot of experience with this field, but am nonetheless impressed. Must see it yourself. passive is really a lot better than active, too.....it's cheaper....easier and fewer noticeable to use, yet still looks amazing. You'll be able to choose 3D options extremely quickly about this tv too, that we also love. the 2D -> 3D is actually comparatively cool in some movies (HD is pretty much a must here) like harry potter, limitless, planet earth, and several others cleaning it once a. The choices there, so sometimes I'll put it to use, also it looks real crisp, but concurrently it seems like you might be wasting the tv's true 2D display quality. This is the reason why I reserve the 3D for true (side by side) 3d movies. These look GREAT. I've watched most of them, from Hugo and Kung Fu Panda 2 on the Immortals as well as the Smurfs and Avatar, and much more. They all look terrific. not many scenes can come out and grab you, however the added clarity depth of field is incredibly cool. side note - as stupid of the movie as smurfs was, there exists a scene about Ten mins in with these items flying in to a vortex....actually helped me and also the wife jump, it felt so real.
My absolute favorite much of this tv - the wifi. 10/10. The media sharing is INCREDIBLE. the first time i went along to put it to use, it prompted me to set up "plex media server." and that i was a bit postpone, realizing i would now need to use an authorized program. After setting it up and utilizing it for several days and learning it, i have to say i am sooooooooooooo delighted by this program. me and the wife can both run your own "media servers" from our desktop/laptop and access the whole media folders from the tv WITH pictures, episode synopsises, etc. that is all i am going to really say about it, doesn't take much learning, and is also Worth buying this tv for if you have lots of media on the computers (like i truly do)
Build quality 8.5/10
I only say this because the screen is so insanely thin, that is a negative and positive thing. The front with the screen could become slightly bent or warped just from shipment, which i've seen reviewers say/post pictures of. Mine is hardly noticeable, however, if you were to consider an amount to many of such tv's I do think you'd probably get the front face isn't necessarily completely straight. this does NOT mean this screen will not be straight, exactly the bezel around it may become (mostly unnoticeably) slightly warped. I actually very carefully "bent" mine back only a slight tad when i first got it along with, and it is now greater. Also, the stand isn't greatest.
Sound - The speakers take presctiption a single inch think screen....so obviously they arent gonna knock you off the couch. but honestly, for strictly dialogue-based shows and evening viewing, or when the volume doesn't require to become up, it's perfect. clear voice does actually help a good deal, too. when the wife watches her shows, she never even uses the speakers, theres just no reason to.
The bad:
Most individuals have already said all these same things, such as the magic wand remote being retarded....and it's also....i avoid it. At first I would commute between it along with the standard remote, however i have since already gotten accustomed to the typical remote. The magic wand ISN'T completely useless, however...and that i haven't seen anyone say this, however it is nice to make it for typing things into the tv (setting things up, web browsing, etc.) The stand is yet another thing most of the people complain about, however it isn't THAT bad....I actually as it, even though it is often a little flimsy for such a wide screen. I don't ever notice wobbling, but I can definetley see people who have kids seen (especially on hard wood or tile) having an issue. I have mine with a glass/metal entertainment focus on carpet, so this should never be an issue. If it absolutely was, I might probably just put a thin pad under the stand...problem solved.
The viewing angle isn't the greatest, however i employ a wide lounge with 2 couches alongside (about 6-7 people can simultaneously find the screen) also to the far sides (the 2 main side people) the viewing angle is definitely beginning fade. For 90% of movie watching, though, it's unnoticeable, and again, i have hardly any to compare it to, for all those i am aware this tv has got the most usable viewing area in the class, though i've heard that samsung's are slightly better with this. I know for sure that bravia's have pretty much exactly the same viewing angle, if not SLIGHTLY much better than the LG. Too bad bravia's possess a crap wifi setup, and subpar picture. and the full spyware on his or her products thing a short time ago always put me away from the company. I don't like gremlins....
I haven't messed using this nearly enough to complain about, though the media sharing (plex) we have noticed the 1080p videos lagging and having to buffer periodically. There are plenty of forums addressing this issue, i have tried some things with no success To date. I only have had this tv during their visit, that i'm i can fix this challenge. Even easily had this matter for many years, though, i wouldn't even care. This is really because, to get a true 1080 HD video, specially in 3d, it may be best to NOT stream it, while you will surely be losing no less than somewhat quality. Any true high def 1080p videos really should be on a harddrive coupled to the tv or on the disc. I can provide an update as to if or otherwise not we have fixed this, and a few things i did to correct it.
That being said - the 720p as well as the remaining media we have streamed to this tv LOOKS AMAZING. it isn't really as flawless just like you were watching a blu ray as well as directly off of a difficult drive in to the tv, nevertheless it certainly doesn't look like you're watching youtube. for 90% of my content (really only excluding 3d 1080p movies) the streaming plex media player does a terrific job.

LG's Cinema 3D experience, as clear & real life mainly because it gets! WOW!
I wanted to have something to exhibit friends when that can come over, you realize, something they haven't seen yet. The 2D-3D conversion was nothing to great, but was cool non-the-less, Gave it an awesome looking depth perception. Then I tried 3D gaming around the PS3 (Cod: Black Ops zombies) however got the WHOA moment, not WOW, WHOA. Initially kinda filled me with a filling to become cross-eyed. My eyes adjusted, got better/bigger weapons then it began to supply that semi-wow moment. Wasn't playing online, but playing in 3D gave it a little (online filling, although not nearly as bad)lag, also got a little eye soreness but no headache. In general, it absolutely was pretty frickin' cool playing in 3D.
Then I tried a Blu-Ray 3D movie (fright Night 3D) as soon as again, it gave me that WOW moment continually. The image was clear, or else seemed clearer then full 1080p picture, as life-like as it gets. Never got the cross-eyed filling whatsoever, it more-less provided me with the filling how the movie had been directed and shot via a window within my home, one continues shot with no directer screaming CUT! (TV is mounted, passing it on that window filling) Without a 3D yet, you need to obtain one, preferably this 3D HDTV. The Cinema 3D experience is cooler/better in your own home then the 3D the truth is on the movies.
On another note, the apps are cool, use Netflix constantly with the magic remote. (some individuals the magic remote doesn't work for Netflix) The image is absolutely clear too. The browser works, but not the quickest engine for the browser. Kinda like browsing over a 3G android phone. Nevertheless it works, already set up several favorite for that quickest use. Facebook app is fairly cool too, can click and look at pics right on the TV. The only real negative thing to say of some of the apps that I use is basically that you Tube, it doesn't apparently please let me join with my Youtube account. And so i can't view my favorites or do just about anything that's associated with my Youtube account. It starts playing videos as soon as the app loads up, but it does enable you to search videos while the videos are playing, kinda weird to suit your needs Tube though.
I bought this HDTV due to the big 3. 3D Compatibility, Display quality, and Internet Connectivity. Out of all the research and video reviews and testimonials, it all result in this TV or the LG Plasma 60PZ950. I choose this TV due to the LED technology and also the cost of the glasses. Not forgetting this HDTV included 4 pairs of classes as well as the 60PZ950 was included with none, and the ones glasses cost 70 buck a bit. For this reason alone I select passive over active i couldn't be happier with my decision. Ideal is LG Cinema 3D!
Saves energy, solid 3D, and a good value

* Energy Efficient - When its dark outside, we could run at medium-max energy savings which means 40-65W. However, 3D viewing requires more brightness, so for those events we generally power it down, plus it pulls about 120W
* Low-cost 3D glasses - yes it comes with 4 glasses, but we wanted more for friends, and also at about $5 each, its a bargain
* Viewing angle is wonderful for LCD. My lounge is wide and shallow, so when I've guests, they can see the TV all right from 60 degrees off center.
* Good streaming support - Incorporates Netflix, Hulu+, Amazon VOD, and Vudu (which unfortunately we cannot use).
--- Netflix may be reliable and it is simple to navigate - it presents recommendations and new releases well, however the PC can be a better interface for searching. HD looks sharp and only rarely does a frame skip or rebuffering occur (we're using FIOS for internet). It sometimes forgets you have completed an instalment and says that this already played episode may be the "next" one. This is easy to workaround by asking it to exhibit all episodes and picking the most recent the one that hasn't been watched/completed. After who's works well for a couple of episodes.
--- Hulu+ we use occasionally. It require sometime to load the App, however it is good from then on - has a good browsing interface. Streaming may be pretty reliable, but "HD" isn't impressive - we've FIOS which includes _plenty_ of bandwidth. If you stop a show and return later, often it forgets where you were, placing a few commercials back or forcing you to definitely begin with the beginning. Fast forwarding works, but we sometimes miss our mark and have to rewind again. Using the "mouse" helps, when you can obtain the pointer showing high on the screen.

* Changing Energy Efficiency is annoying. Yes, the masai have a dedicated button because of this, but rather than toggling it directly, it opens a menu you must navigate while using arrow keys, press Enter, then press Exit, and lastly it puts a big Energy Efficiency Meter on screen for 5 seconds - too cumbersome and slow

I'm just planning to list several notes since I've come across the majority of the same things from a lot of these reviews.
- The TV's sound is good enough for regular use. Anyone who complains about the lack of speakers inside a TV this thin is stupid... if they thought about their sound much they would already have an audio system set up and wouldn't need the TV speakers.
- The internet dongle isn't very good. However, I've my PS3 / PC hooked up to the HDMI inputs and I just stream my stuff from those.
- 3d live sports just isn't great yet. We have verizon FIOS and that only provides me with 2 3d channels... mostly they play College football with them. The grade of the image isn't that great yet it's still cool to determine sports in 3d. Just lessen your standards a bit and its particular suitable.
- I have a large amount of gaming systems. Every one of them work great around the TV, although this TV really can make it show how bad graphics had been. One problem I've had is my N64 rule isn't followed with this particular TV but does with other people. Each of the colors glitch every few seconds. I tried this with 2 different N64 setups and discover a similar thing. Not sure if it is just my TV or if this is a software problem.
- TruMotion is worthless until you are watching animal planet something like that. It causes delay on the Wii and mouse movements for my computer. Often it causes sound sync problems. I get forced out off most of the time.
- The image is absolutely good. I recently took someone's settings I saw in the review on here and they work great.
- The magic motion controller or whatever is okay. It is just a cool gimmick, however i always be there up deploying it.
- The LG apps that aren't mainstream for the TV are awful.
- The stand is MEANT to be capable of turn lateral. I can't know how people can review this TV and state that they may not be positive that it can make or otherwise. It is clearly meant for that. Ensure you assemble it in the right order... I can't remember what that order is however it only works a proven way (I do think hook the television as much as it first then attach to stand?).
- I got 10 pairs of free 3d glasses with my TV. They're nice. I switching two pairs in order that they were left / left and right / right lenses i really could play video games that were split screen entirely screen (each player sees their screen as full screen) and delay pills work fine with this particular TV. I am expecting you to definitely create 3d glasses who do this therefore i do not have to do a crappy job popping lenses in and out.
- Passive vs active 3d : passive can be so much better. lighter. cheaper. no batteries. no headaches. anyone who buys a dynamic 3d tv is often a fool who thinks that paying additional money = better without having done any any research. This all 3d technology is most likely likely to be a lot better every year or two, why pay a high price for something which will likely be obsolete very quickly? Obtain the cheap one for now.
- We've heard there exists some lag for gaming in comparison with plasma TV's... I don't notice it with TRUmotion off. While i use my computer there's no mouse movement delay after its set right.
Overall, great TV. Colors are great. Darkness is extremely good (I play Dead Space into it). Shipping was fine. I do not notice any lighting problems with the LED's inside the TV like some people mention. Any bad review I have come across is simply too critical. Nobody will probably notice the stuff they've got difficulty with. You get a wonderful TV for 2/3 of what everyone else pays.
Let me determine if anybody else sees the same trouble with N64 color glitches...
UPDATE:
I finally worked out the fact that was occurring with the color glitches. First of all, it really is wasn't just with my N64... it was with A/V jacks generally. Apparently I needed to be expert mode (game mode had glitches) about the TV to remove the glitches. I do believe it was doing processing on the signal which it must not are actually. When you see this problem, change to expert mode and have fun with the settings until it goes away!
Wonderful TV--Bang for buck
WHY?
Bought this to switch a 42" Panasonic plasma, that i love, and yes it served me well these past 6 years. I was hesitant to go to LED/LCD because i watch hockey, the industry overly busy game. After i initially bought my Panny in 2005, LCD wasn't even an option... it had been waaaay to blurry for sports. Anyone concerned with blur on an LCD will not need to worry; no less than with this unit.
SET-UP:
Easy. Internet set-up equally easy. The wii-type controller does make browsing simpler definitely. Menus are easy to navigate. Usually almost always there is one setting that's in certain obscure place in a tv menu, but all things in this unit is the place it belongs. Got some good specs for calibration on-line and straightforward (I strongly suggest tweaking the out-of-box settings). Google "47lw5600 calibration" and you will get a great deal of results.
PICTURE:
Wow.... going from my 6 yr old Panny to the was like going from the well-tuned corvette to your lambourghini... both good, but leagues apart. The picture quality, once calibrated is very good. As they are I was not really that pleased, but once tweaked (using normal menu settings, no fancy secret codes required) it really is stunning. It is deemed an excellent 2D tv for your price. Viewing range for all of us is approximately 10' and it's really perfect. Strengthens incredibly well in daylight.. a thousand times a lot better than our plasma did, at night very sharp too (I recommend having fun with the settings for daytime and nighttime viewing).
3D:
Once I figured out I had to re-calibrate my PS3 under Display Settings (thanks a lot IGN)....Surpisingly good. Anyone ripping on passive not being "true HD" will need to have implanted eagle eyes.... While this could be true from the technical sense, my eyes want it okay. Playing games in 3D about the PS3 is in fact very cool (i utilized to rip on a buddy who swears by 3D gaming...I'm converted). The glasses are light (especially the family pack ones that have been more custom fit), and within about 5 mins you forget you are wearing them. The clip-ons was very successful too for my friend with glasses.
MINOR COMPLAINT:
The cord is smack in the center of a corner. I had to screw around with spacers for my mount to be to work, which means you may need to muck around in case you are wall mounting.

Very satisfied with my decision
i prefered the LED TVs as it is going to be connected to a FiOS box, a PS3 (for bluray), and possibly a computer. I realize that plasma has come a long way but I still can easily see the burn-in in the DVR guide on my friend's 2 yr old plasma. I prefer to be safe then sorry when spending over $1k. The following item which make it worth every penny is energy consumption... it uses less energy and thus produces less heat (I believe one reviewer measured it at 80-100 watts at his settings).
I went 3D because, at that price, whats another few bucks for the cheap thrill. i do not believe 3D tech has settled yet, i really can't understand why I might put large sums of money into active shutter glasses. I've sat thru a movie using them i always know these folks were on my own head. I do think the LG Passive system looks good and i also only feel like i'm wearing an inexpensive set of two sunglasses at $10 a pop (it was included with 8 pairs from amazon i really don't even require more).
The amazon delivery service was great, I was surprised there was clearly merely one person, but he got the work done. Setup was obviously a snap. The applications on TVs are still weird to me, We are pleased with my Hulu, Netflix, Vudu and Amazon apps, everything else is not really getting touched. Vudu may be the only service to me that does 3D on-demand videos besides FiOS At the moment.
People complain how the magic remote is useless... i enjoy it. When you get used to it, there is rarely a reason to utilize another one because I mainly need to take my FiOS remote.
I do wish there is more documentation. I will be just learning about the SIMPLINK and the way it could control other HDMI devices but LG didn't write much regarding it. I acquired it to control the PS3 and not my FiOS box yet.
Overall, We are pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

Best in class 3D - from someone that should know
In my office we've got numerous 3D displays from LED screens from various manufacturers that cost $2k to Projectors that cost $20k and beyond, and there's not one of them that does a more satisfactory job in the house environment than this one does. It's not hard to setup, easy to use, the look is sharp, the colors are strong and true and the 3D is right. The passive glasses technology is great for your home environment for three reasons i) passive glasses are super cheap and super light ii) no batteries or charging required iii) if you need to buy the glasses in the movies you are able to plus they work perfectly iv) which is super important: we now have people working with 3D monitors the entire day as well as THEM use passive screen technology...why? since it reduces eyestrain which can be a worry in case you are watching 3D on an extended time period with active glasses.
What really blows my mind is these sets are nowhere near the more costly in the marketplace but I can categorically claim that of all the sets that I have witnessed and used over the past Several years (samsung, sony etc) I would not buy one of them before it uses the LG set. The ghosting for this set is virtually non-existent something I cannot say for your samsung sets we've had.
In closing it really works great as a regular TV (I turn off the 120Hz, 240Hz etc since it does items to the style on every tv that's ever had it that as a filmaker makes me wish to hurt myself...the top film images in the world resemble bad soap tv when you've got those activities activated and honestly for sports it leaves me cold). And delay amazing being a 3D TV. Visitors constantly impressed because when cool the 3D is. If you are being patiently waiting for glasses free tv i) the lighting passive glasses can even make it a smaller amount of your issue ii) you've the required time to save up :) we're still years from an arrangement without glasses that you might want to possess in your family room (e-mail I have seen them all, like the prototypes which can be still Two years far from production and they're still nowhere near this tv).
If you will get one, Do you enjoy it as much as my children has enjoyed having ours.
Great 3D LED LCD
Beautiful TV for the Price
Hook-up was super simple. There are 4 HDMI ports readily available at the left (waiting in front in the TV) rear with the panel. One cable per device, as well as the TV does the others. The wireless network was simple to set up - the TV set carries with it an included wireless USB dongle which you plug into one of many two open ports around the back - gleam port to have an ethernet cable if you rather go wired.
The picture is amazing. Almost painfully bright and vivid about the stock settings. After messing with the settings for a while, I found the ones that work best for me during my space and it looks beautiful. There are zero visible lazy or dead pixels, and I have not been able to see any video artifacts due to the display. That said, the display will often show any flaws with your video sources, to become dissatisfied by incorporating content - particularly a number of the "HD" content from a cable provider. There can be a picture setting for automatically adjusting the backlight as well as other settings by having an "intelligent sensor". I found the picture under that setting to often be too dim, so I found themselves abandoning it for the variation with the standard settings with all the backlight set throughout the middle of the range. I began by incorporating settings from a well known AV forum and worked following that until I'd the design I needed. One nice thing personally is that this TV has a lot of range, and that i did not have to max anything over to get where I desired to get - even just in a brightly lit room. I haven't noticed much backlight bleed on the edges - even in the dark. I'm not to imply it is not there in any respect, but it is not with a level that bothers me the slightest bit.
The passive 3D is pretty awesome while using right content. The set incorporates four pairs of lightweight, polarized glasses that appear to be and feel pretty cheap, but work virtually. I'm discovering that 3D is ALL about the information. If you would like to very impressed, watch similar to Despicable Me in 3D - the depth and resolution really draws you in. For me, though, it's still just a novelty as well as the grand majority of content I watch on the set is 2D. It's worth noting that, for those who have a Playstation 3, the Playstation Store actually has some decent 3D content online.
The sound was acceptable, but like the majority of built-in speakers, was type of "Meh". It's functional, such as the expect miracles in volume, dynamics, or clarity. I certainly don't recommend the sound for movie watching or gaming. I pretty quickly hooked the optical audio output to a Bose 1SR sound bar and powered down the tv screen speakers - that input it right in the sweet location for me.
The "smart TV" software packages are much better than expected. The menus are simple to access, and much more so using the included free motion remote (swing it around in mid-air and it controls a cursor on screen). There are very several video apps than enable you to watch content from various online providers like Amazon Instant Video or Netflix, and they seem to work pretty much. There's a small percentage lag inside menu system. The typing interface can be a little clunky, however, the motion remote makes it much better. It will make an excellent stand-alone system, although I still find myself using my Playstation 3 or Apple TV to view Netflix content because I just just like the interface a tad bit better. Another reason is the fact that We have all of the gear programmed in to a Harmony universal remote, which only supports standard navigation (click for up/down/left/right/etc), and I often is not bothered to travel get the motion remote that creates it menus far less difficult to work with. :)
Overall, I'm very impressed using this type of looking for the amount of money. I would have been a little nervous about buying LG, but they've really evolved quite a bit over the last couple of years. I would recommend this display wholeheartedly to the of my close friends.
LG 55lw5600 AWESOME!!!
The 2D to 3D Conversion works great.
When I began trying to find a new TV 3D had not been on my set of "must have features". I got myself the 55LW5600 due to its picture quality, price and size. I used to believe 3D TV's were a fad i wouldn't want to own certainly one of my personal. Mostly because I did not think that there'd ever be enough 3D content in the market to help it become worth while.
However with a 2D to 3D converter built into this TV, it can make every video source a 3D source.
Once I needed the tv screen both at home and installed I gave the 2D to 3D converter a go. I became amazed, the consequence increases results then you can imagine I encourage you to approach a local store and appearance it out.
So far We have watched several movies with the 3D converter enabled. The 3D effect is conducted well. It is not an exaggerated 3D effect, everything doesn't pop-out in the screen, instead the effect is like searching a window. This is actually the way it must be, as spectacular effects will begin to cause eye fatigue and provide a headache.
What is a bit more amazing is that I can't must buy 3D movies. I do not possess a 3D Blu-Ray player, or compatible 3D HDMI receiver. I could watch True Grit streaming from NetFliX in 3D, watch the Walking Dead in 3D, whatever. Up to now hi-def sources appear to work the best. A few of my DVDs were hit and miss. The Matrix on DVD as an example looks great, but a majority of scenes where there was a lot of contrast the 3D effect was diminished. BluRay sources however have all worked wonderfully. Watching the epic panning shots in Lord of the Rings with 3D enabled is really a totally new experience.
A final note for the 3D glasses. This TV uses passive 3D. This means no expensive, heavy, or costly shutter glasses. The 3D glasses are pretty straight forward lightweight plastic. This too ensures they are prone to scratches then with glass. And that means you have to take care to not toss them along with the pile of remotes. However since they cost ~$5 to replace it isn't a huge deal if you need to replace them down the road.
Owning this TV has changed my opinion on 3D movies in your house. I have found I must say i enjoy re-watching my movie collection with 3D enabled. I've found I enjoy the extra depth it increases my old movies.

I ordered it for a great price on here. The shipping was free and was considered "white glove" that we believe means they take it in, place the ascend to it, and make certain it works prior to going. I continue to exist the next floor of the apartment building as well as the guys brought all this the way in which up and did exactly that.
I possess a Samsung 50" plasma with a great picture until this is replacing. Why did I order it? Mainly as a result of 3D hype and being the 1st within my family to possess that. I realize, not the most effective basis for it however i thought I'd at least try it out. If I didnrrrt want it, it will return back.
I actually bought it without going to a big block store to determine it first due to the price here. The following day I chose to go see it face-to-face at our local store. Sadly I used to be disappointed there. It had some film trailers in 3D that they were demo'ing and they didn't really help it become shine. I told myself to never be able to disappointed and waited until mine came. And I'm glad Used to do.
Once I obtained mine I downloaded some files from the net including an official LG 3D demo with this fish that comes out of your screen about halfway between your screen. Now I became totally impressed! Something, I sit about 7 feet back in the screen. Slightly closer and I noticed the interlace lines through the 3D. But from where I became it appeared as if 1080p.
I had issues with receiving the wii style remote to connect to my TV. As i connected my TV to the internet also it updated to the new firmware it connected instantly. Furthermore, i pointed out that the interlace lines I originally saw when I was more detailed the screen were much harder to view. From research it appears that LG has updated the algorithm in the newer firmware to be less noticeable and delay!
Also, if you google you'll find that you are able to activate a THX setting for regular and 3D content that produces the television look outstanding! If one does lots of media streaming from the TV you could also activate a dolby digital passthrough. Otherwise it limits you to definitely 2 channels.
Some everyone has were unsatisfied with the tv screen having game lag. After searching the forums I ran across a couple of tricks that make this go away completely (labeling the input as PC and putting it in on HDMI input 3). We've no issues at all with lag. I play a great deal of video games which means this was crucial that you me.
A few tips - shut off "tru motion" to have the TV to check natural with the movements. Also turn on local dimming to "HIGH" to get the TV to completely shine on contrast. It'll just about make the backlighting disappear with a dark scene from your edges. Works well!
With the right settings this TV looks Ten times better then my Samsung plasma does. I'm super happy with my purchase and would try it again inside a heartbeat. This TV looks and acts as being a TV costing a fantastic thousand more.
Update - 2D to 3D works great yet , depends upon the material you happen to be watching. I watched a nature show within on also it looked amazing. Also, you need to hard wire the tv screen to the internet (don't use the wifi). I just read someone complaining about Netflix looking pretty bad on some motion material, but the faster wired connection I don't go to whichever artifacts. TV plays MKV files perfectly should you be into downloading, there are lots of 3D MKV files available that actually work flawlessly with this TV. Use the "Plex Media Server" that you could google online. It's free and sponsored by LG. Works much better then the Nero CD they send while using TV.
Love the television, hate everything that happened around it.
The issues I had created could be that the first TV was damaged during delivery. After i called Amazon, the customer service rep sounded like she involved to go to sleep as though my problem was pointless and boring. Words can't describe the fashion I felt since i have had just spent $1,200 on the great TV however i get yourself a broken one within my door the day after I lost my job. Amazon has given me an exchange but now after simply a little on the month, it's $985. That stings a bit from then on whole experience though the TV itself gets 5 stars from me. (A lot like when your parents yell at you together with then will give you ice cream to calm you down. A minimum of the frozen treats remains delicious.)

Setup was a breeze. Good layout of the hdmi ports, but, yes, like other reviews, I'm not happy that the cables will spend time slightly. the magic motion remote is cool (a real good plan, works much like wii), but it's not perfect - you should be careful when aiming it, because it is very sensitive. As far since the wifi setup goes it isn't difficult enough; took some effort, but if you happen to be tech savvy, like most people, it's not an irritation. As far as screen resolution goes, I do believe LG does similar in results a career with screen resolution as any competitor. As far as calibration, you have to do your homework - it helps should you read a number of websites (i.e., cnet, hdtvreviewlab) to obtain suggested settings. the LG firmware offers a configuration screen and allows you to choose what seems ideal for your viewing pleasure. As far as sound quality, it's ok for my tastes; however i may obtain a sound bar. I believe other reviews concerning the "smart tv" features, made choices there; and Certainly with complaints re: difficulty with with all the web browser along with the magic motion remote. But, I seriously didn't require it anyway (in the end, I have lots of other options for web surfing).

Don't get stuck on 120 vs. 240 hertz because it is not going to make any difference for motion blur. I see no blur during sports or action movies.
I have experienced no difficulties with ghosting or flash lighting or blooming or clouding or any of the other negatives which were mentioned in other reviews in connection with picture. Not saying they didn't have issues. Just saying I haven't had any.
I like the matte screen due to where my TV lies. Reflections are minimal.
The 2D picture is incredibly nice. Take time to identify a couple different ideas for calibrating the picture. I went through 3 before deciding which I liked, then tweaked it a bit more to accommodate me.
I have watched several 3D movies with my kids (Tangled, Gnomio & Juliet, A Christmas Carol, The best way to Train Your Dragon to cover a number of) and i also are already amazed from the quality. I have experienced 3D movies at the cinema and also at IMAX 3D, and the 3D on this set are at exactly the same level i think. It appears like I can dive right in towards the scene sometimes. I'm not sure what the 3D hate is approximately in a few of the reviews. The 3D picture is outstanding. No one in my children has experienced any ill side effects before the any movie or show.
I also have a PS3 connected and possess played Uncharted 3 in 3D and it's also super cool. No negatives whatsoever running PS3 in a mode. No audio sync issues. No delay issues. Absolutely zero blurring.
The 2D to 3D upconvert is probably the only thing I would not take care of. It is cool to find out it work, but is definitely different quality as movies and shows made for 3D viewing. Also I truly do tend to get a little eye strain while viewing using this type of feature started up. Probably just me but whatever. Not an arrangement breaker in a sense.
I have updated the firmware whenever requested by the TV and have had no issues with one of the updates or any of the Smart features. I noticed some having troubles with Flash or other firmware issues. All I will think are I have had none.
I installed an assortment extender for my wireless signal as a result of distance from my TV to my router/wi-fi. I was first shocked at how clear the picture occurs when streaming movies from Netflix using the Smart App (I needed used my Xbox360 to look at Netflix movies and wasn't impressed).
I connected my laptop via SVG cable coupled with no issues. Browsed the internet and checked my mail.
I use a Logitech universal remote and so i can't discuss the included remote. I occasionally utilize Wand pointer that is included with the television and it works fine. If you've ever used a Wii remote you will end up familiar with the operation. If not don't be concerned. It took my 4 year old about 5 seconds to think against each other.
Some may find the stand slightly with a lack of stability, but the kids know to never make use of the TV being a jungle jim so it's easy for us. Obviously in case you are gonna mount the TV it isn't an issue.
What reduced the problem choose to pull the trigger on this set is the positive reviews when compared to negatives, and of course the consumer points made within each. Maybe I'm simply better to please than some, but I know very well what I prefer.

Wow! Great TV
I've never stood a trouble with Amazon's service yet. This time around was no different. The delivery guy appeared exactly by the due date, put my TV together, turned it on, guaranteed it wasn't cracked, and left. I tipped him enough money to get lunch.
TV: 55" model
This TV is basically nice. I had created a hard time deciding between this place plus a comparable plasma. It seems like everybody that buys an LED LCD loves it and everybody that buys a plasma loves it. The one thing I really could see that actually placed on me was lighting condition. My impression from going through plenty of website reviews was that LED LCD is best in rooms with moderate light leaking with the windows. Whether that's true you aren't I am unable to tell because I don't use a plasma right close to it to check. All I can tell you is the fact that in my family area with a lot of windows I noticed the TV perfectly at noon.
GAMERS:
Input lag would be a pretty big concern for me personally. You can find 3 gamers within my house. It absolutely was pretty bad in the beginning. Don't even try 3D on the busy game. Have no fear though. With some short clicks all of it disappeared. If you do not keep in mind that then trust my teen who lives within COD:MW3. Make sure your tv is at game mode. Also, [I'm using this one on faith from several website] change the label from the input to PC. Unsure if the had a direct impact but either way, I've no measurable input lag. Also, the pixel response time is fast enough i don't possess trails either.
2D->3D conversion:
My only knowledge about this really is by using an episode of Spongebob We used for background noise while I was getting everything create. I attempted about the glasses, use it in 2D->3D mode and voila. Everything stood a slight texture. Nothing spectacular but pretty cool nonetheless. I've not popped inside a true 3D show yet so I can't talk with that. Basically have the time after having a go I'll revisit and edit this post.
Standard Definition:
Nothing great here. In the event you an LCD now you already know what your standard television channels will certainly produce. Inferior, slightly pixelated images. Doesn't bother me. I purchased this TV for HD movies and games.
Movie Quality:
My first Blu-ray disc watching was Lord in the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring extended cut (you can find the trilogy on Amazon for $50). The picture quality is wonderful. There are numerous picture modes for your tv like standard, cinema, vivid... I put it on vivid first. The shots were so clear it gave the look of watching the film by having a window. Need I have faith that more?

For gaming it's super crisp and amazing. You may notice a little judder or ghost on extremely fast games however, not really on movies or anything. I've only noticed it with games who have plenty of super bright colors. The TV comes with some lag with audio so expect that. The audio sounds tin like and not realistic, is in reality pretty bad. I propose people have a receiver anyway. When you have a higher end HDTV, you only look foolish lacking a minimum of an inexpensive receiver by incorporating low end speakers. An excellent receiver with even halfway decent speakers is likely to make your property sound like an IMAX. You truly aren't taking full benefit of blu-ray discs as well as your games if you're just watching this excellent picture with completely horrible 3 inch TV speakers. Do yourself a favor and think about new receiver/speaker set before a brand new TV.
The TV incorporates 2 controllers, an example may be a place controller just like the Wii. I never put it to use. The browser about the TV is okay though the network on the TV is spotty. By using a USB stay with watch something? You'll be able to customize that separately. It's awesome in case you like their colors accurate. True Motion comes with an off feature or custom feature. I never put it to use, it's actually a great way to kill a motion picture. The backlight control and dimming feature makes the blacks actually black. It looks equally black as it does when the TV is off. That's probably the best feature, it's realistic and great. I am actually able to custom set my TV to take a look as amazing as being a movie did inside theater. In addition, it has ARC that enables you to overcome your receiver with the TV. The USB thumb option is effective. The television includes the option to make over glowing power symbol, i wish to maintain constantly.
Overall I have not had a single complaint about this set apart from the audio. I truly didn't like the way it sounded plus while using speakers facing a corner it might sound rather quiet. The 47" does create a difference in the standard 46. If I could choose again I might still choose this set. At that price, hardly any other set beats or perhaps meets the features this TV offers. Your TV shouldn't tell you what you consider it must appear to be. Custom features tend to be more important than people realize. I've also watched some 3D blu-ray movies for this and do wish to mention that you are able to watch 3D blu-ray by having an HDMI 1.3 cable. The players say they might require 1.4 in case there is a 1.3 cable check it out first prior to single.4. You do not demand it. If however you're running TrueHD with 3D by way of a receiver, you need a pair of 1.4 HDMI cables otherwise you will come upon cutouts.

First, ok, i'll look at the 3D. Absolutely amazing. First movie I saw about this TV was Lion King and I wasn't disappointed. Other TV's just don't match towards the quality of LG's 3D pictures. The glasses are pretty straight forward plastic glasses as you be in the theaters and no must charge like all other 3D TV. The 2D-3D conversion is outstanding. You can see you favorite show or sport event and just turn this option on and you've got 3D picture in nano seconds. Should you be into 3D gaming. Hardly any other TV may bring the games alive exactly like it, I assure you. Truly, the top 3D TV in the market.
Secondly, the Smart TV. While I'm not as impressed using the web browser at all like me with everything else else, it's fairly well. The genuine "smart" in this TV really comes in the premium packets (i.e. Netflix, MLB.tv, Hulu Plus, etc.) and right after software updates, these facilities (an advanced member to your) are absolutely amazing. Connecting to YouTube is simple, however i wish they will update the interface and add categories for example "most viewed" and "most popular" and permit the user to logon and rate, comment, and share. This would change lives to what it appears like now. I'm not all of that enthusiastic about apps but LG features a large inventory of all types of apps.
Now to the little details. The 120hz is a lot more than enough to deliver picture perfect resolution in any type of programs whether it's live sports, movies, shows, etc. Starting the TV was with relative ease. I had a furniture stand ready for this, in order that it would have been a couple of just attaching the will it and lifting it to the table. Once everything was connected it turned out all set. Software updates are incredibly important and require connection to the internet. Luckily it had a USB connection to the internet to pick up in your router. I have attempted to extensively research all kinds of LED TV's as well as quality/price ratio came across this one.
I felt slightly uneasy purchasing LG tv since everyone brags about Samsung and Sony etc., but LG started using it absolutely right with this tv.
The tv is thin and light and also the picture is merely amazing. In addition, it includes a non glare non shiny screen that is a big plus for me in my bright sunny lit room. I aquired this mainly to view regular 2D HDTV but the 3D picture is astonishing also and my kids are dependent on the 3D viewing.
The colors are bright and natural looking and comparing to my existing LED Samsung and Sharp TV's, the image quality is indistinguishable to my eye.
Plus this tv has internet access and smart remote which is a bonus.
The beauty of this tv is that it can read hard disk drives and then any coded movies into it, ie mkv, mp4, avi etc (a lot of formats) - so you should not replicate onto a disc and connect thru usb watching.
I have absolutely nothing but high accolades for this tv - it is just AMAZING.
Couldn't Be Happier.
First off - I do not use most of the internet-enabled stuff. Netflix and Vudu - that's basically it, and they also both appear to work very well. An invisible adapter is roofed in the box (yay!) but I have it plugged right into my router and streaming video usually work perfectly as intended.
The image quality is pretty much perfect. The Samsung I returned looked great, but the color have also been over-saturated with out challenege show up Used to, I couldn't get it to appear quite right. The picture with this LG looks a lot more natural (if slightly duller by comparison) and delivers crisp, clear HD images. It's got an expedient picture setup wizard that walks you thru some common settings, tailoring and saving your custom preferences to a special profile which you'll later refine further.
The Wii-style Magic-something-Remote is kinda fun, but more or less irrelevant. I have my HD cable box connected via HDMI, having a TOSLINK running in the TV to my Onkyo receiver (and that's why I did not rate the audio). After adjusting the SPDIF delay slightly using the Audio Settings menu inside tv, HD cable looks fantastic. I would not use a blu-ray player yet, however i sampled some 1080p video from Vudu and it looks great also. The local dimming feature seems to are very effective which is nearly unnoticeable, meaning it's working as intended.
Overall I'm very happy with this tv and would definitely recommend it.

Got A lot more than I taken care of... Truly the perfect TV
I have to say though I wasn't very considering the opposite 3D technology around because not merely would I be paying for that TV but a different $150 dollars per set of active 3D glasses which would must also be charged and that i was told were very fragile. This TV not merely includes four pairs of glasses nevertheless it uses exactly the same light-weight glasses since the theater as well as not charging what so ever and makes it possible for all of my relatives and buddies to observe 3D whenever they stop by. So since i have already a PS3 which could play 3D all once I got it I was prepared to watch 3D hardly anything else additional required to purchase. Lacking truly compared active 3D to Passive 3D I can't say just how much quality is lost but the quality of the passive 3D is indeed good it won't leave everything to be desired and if I'm sacrificing some quality it had been worth not having the expensive glasses and is also truly not noticeable enough will be able to care.
Don't even get me started on the remote along with the direct link media share capabilities along with the other many features this TV provides. I possibly could seriously go on forever about it TV. LOVE IT!
I haven't even started to explore every one of the functions and capability it has, however i am Impressed through the display quality. We've tested several 3D Blu Ray discs within it, and so far essentially the most impressive has been "The Polar Express." The picture is STUNNING when using either cable, Blu Ray, or regular DVD. Certainly the top television in terms of image quality goes i have ever owned.
The Passive 3D glasses are so lightweight, you barely realize you're using them. The set includes 4, plus they are A lot more affordable compared to other kinds I have come across.
The remote is quite simple to use, as is also the weird-but-fun "Magic Motion" control.
Sleek, attractive, absolutely stunning. I suggest this unit.

Blown away!!!
The most important thing if you ask me is "Picture Quality"
I must claim that i am very impressed with the picture, colors are bright, Blu rays are utterly beautiful, regular dvds are okay looking nevertheless, you will easily notice the diffrence in quality between both formats, regular tv is not that attractive thats why i ordered an HD reciever from my cable provider... some people have difficulties with the "tru motion" function.. (accounts for a fake soap opera look) i appear to as it but if you do not it's simple "Turn it OFF"... some individuals mention the screen "bleeding" plus it does however its not only a deal breaker for me personally.
Second most crucial for me is "Gaming"
I was close to not buying this tv due to bad reviews it had when it came to gaming, well im thrilled to state that we have no clue the things they where discussing... i have both an "Xbox 360" along with a "PS3"... and the most popular game genre are "FPS" and "Fighting Games"... i need to state that i haven't experienced any lag, and i had my son and the friends play "Black ops" (incidentally they're excellent).. and they also agree it plays perfectly normal, regardless if it is not in "Game Mode"... used to install the latest update and deterred the "tru motion" feature... so rest asuured until this tv can play nice with youre consoles.
Third is the "3D"
The 3D is amazing, my cousin posseses an "active 3D tv" and that he agrees that "passive" could be the strategy to use!... now as much as the 3D effect, well that all is dependent upon the content you play... see some movies where filmed with 3D cameras (what are best looking 3D movies).. and others where just "converted" ... use youre research before selecting any 3d movies... this is my quick report on movies i suggest ( avatar, resident evil, kelly slater ultimate wave, despicable me, monsters vs aliens, coraline, rio, open season).. these appear to have more "pop out" effects than just a feeling of 3D depth...The 2D to 3D conversion is fairly cool but its not quality 3d (you are able to convert anything on tv thou).. so overall it functions.
Fourth is " Sound"
The sound isn't amazing nonetheless it does what its suppose to do, should you prefer a kick ass sound, however recommend you buy a "surround sound" or even a "sound bar"... overall it functions, so no complaints.
Fifth is "Design"
It seems like most TVs available, the bezel is fairly thin, and what's more amazing is how "Thin" and "light" this tv is... very impressed... over everything its an excellent looking tv.
Sixth "app/Smart tv function"
Let me claim that that is no "Google Tv"... i became not impressed using the "app store" or "web browser"... overall i made a decision to not use it (maybe exclusively for Netflix) in addition , i really believe that will be the tv weakest feature, however thats why i have my two Game consoles for.
Overall i'm happy using this type of tv, and that i would recommend it to everyone,... you will get "High end" features at "Low end" price.

I love the Passive 3d. No glasses to charge, these are cheap to buy, or perhaps bring yours home from your theater. I actually think the theater glasses will be more durable than the LG ones that are included with the television. They look nicer, nevertheless the ones through the theater seem are more durable.
And there are plenty of bad reviews about gaming lag about this set. Just rename whatever input you've got your console on to "PC" and 99% of this disappears altogether.
I turned True Motion off. It just seemed like things were planning slow motion or something.
The 2d to 3d conversion feature is awesome. Watching the bowl games this coming year in 3d was crazy. It made the football games resemble you are playing madden on playstation or something. The 2d conversion doesn't really give you the "pop out" that many people like, nonetheless it adds a great depth for the picture that's cool. Especially with movies which are released in 3d things like, the modern Resident Evil moive. I converted it to 3d from Starz also it looks great. Granted, you didn't receive the full effect you'll from the 3d blu-ray, it turned out still pretty good.
I would highly recommend this tv. Even if you do not like 3d. Its an excellent regular TV also.

Setup was a breeze as well as my devices set up quickly and easily. For you gamers, when you update to the latest OTA update and experience "GAME" mode, the lag is nonexistent. Even on Rockband/GH games the sync is ideal! I also stream Netflix via the included wireless network adapter without having problems or buffering whatsoever. There are two USB ports the bonus, because the included network adapter runs on the USB port. I connect a 1TB HDD on the other USB port.
The only little thing that is certainly left to get desired is the sound, for the smaller room, it could be ideal for most, but my family room is very large so the internal speakers are certainly not everything great. Adding a soundbar or component HT is a good idea for those with bigger rooms. I bought the Vizio VHT215 via Amazon and couldn't be happier. See my review around the Vizio soundbar is that you simply would like to try a soundbar as the speaker solution.
The good reason that Some need a 3D TV in the first place is always that I heard/read that some TVs do HD good but 3D terribly and vice versa. After reading reviews and finally seeing it within my own lounge, this set does both MAGNIFICENTLY! 3D has great pop to get a passive system and the glasses are very inexpensive not like active shutter glasses. For my money, you cannot obtain a more crisp picture. I cannot recommend this TV any higher.

The 55LW5600 is a superb display. Good blacks. Excellent feature options. I've recommended this display OVER the Samsung UN55D8000 since the quality/price ratio is way too GOOD to overlook. In case you are searching for a LED/120HZ/3d here is your TV. Amazon white glove delivery was also great, and will also likely not my last item I order from their website. Netflix is great, it's akin to the PS3 interface. Feels somewhat sluggish when compared to PS3 but acceptable.
Wireless is really a perk, but I am wired.
Cons:
The menu system is alittle clunky, but usable, the "WII" controller is actually comparatively cool. I used to be hoping to find a complele replacement not to switch on my 360/PS3 again for netflix, and streaming, but considering the TV processor leaves some to become desired. No worries.
Feels a little flimsy, but what might you ask from something which are these claims size, and keeping the thinkness down so much. It "feels" flimsy, it is like a top quality panel. I might buy again.

Very solid set
I initially obtained a Samsung D6000, but it really was defective (dead pixel cluster). The set was decent other than that. When debating what to exchange it for (Amazon was out of the D6000) I debated for a long time between this set and also the Toshiba TL515. After having one of these one a couple of days I'm pleased about my decision. I much like the picture with this set better yet than my D6000.
As with this set - it has a great bright picture. Very clean and crisp. It is equipped with a matte screen, which you can see in a few shots accounts for a rather less crisp appearance, but I see that however, it makes an extremely less reflective picture compared to the glossy screens. In addition, it, if you ask me, provides it with a much more real life picture and adds some texture towards the image.
The web browsing functions are decent, and not outstanding. Even with the magic motion remote (which can be very cool), it's a bit cumbersome to scroll through things, specially when my laptop is right in front of me. Aside from streaming, I am unable to see myself while using the feature much. On another hand, Used to download a brand new software update in a short time, that was nice.
As to the 3D, I can't have a 3D blu-ray, however i did use the 2d-3d conversion feature, which can be pretty neat. It's a fantasy 3d however it does give the image some cool depth. I can't imagine performing it quite a bit though. I wasn't really searching for 3d, but figured for a similar price, you will want to.
Another few neat little things - the TV has a touch bezel, which doesn't perform a ton for you, yet it's pretty cool. Also, the bezel is nice looking, a lttle bit bulkier than I would like however it is so good. The samsung had a nicer pedestal and bezel, however it is this kind of minor thing which i doubt I'll contemplate it again after offering this.
Another random note for buyers - I watch a lot of sports possibly at first there was lots of judder and pixelation around quick items (just like the ball or legs running). I powered down the trumotion feature also it appears to have corrected the problem. There is very occasional mild distortion on really fast motion, but I doubt there's a TV available that will not present you with any one of that what so ever. I never got my Samsung to the point where I became happy with the short motion image.
Overall: I like the tv screen a great deal. I am happy with all the purchase and i also would absolutely recommend it in the Samsung D6000.
Excellent set - best I've ever owned
As others have stated, the apps are type of klunky, however i love having the ability to stream content from my computer wirelessly on the TV. The LG app that they recommend doesn't work so well, but I use Plex, which works flawlessly.
Overall, an incredible purchase with no regrets. Love buying from Amazon, too. The price dropped 60 bucks at the time I aquired it, and so they provided me with the loan. Looks such as the costs are dropping a bit again, but which will always be the case with technology items. No regrets. Would recommend and purchase again.
Great tv for a great price
If anyone is seeking a quality tv with 3d and wish to break your budget, this can be definitely one to think about. The only recommendation to make is when money has not been this kind of issue I would've gone while using 240 htz as opposed to the 120.

The Wizard Remote won't appear to be very accurate. Apparently should re-calibrate often (unclear the way to force re-calibration yet). So I am often pointing 2-3 feet out of the the advantage of the TV to obtain the pointer aimed at it. But it really does can be found in ideal for web browsing.
The regular remote comfortable to wear inside the hand. The directional pad is able along with the finger groove can be a nice touch.
2D-3D conversion works well. Couldn't watch it an excessive amount of. Haven't mounted to wall yet (makes you dizzy watching on stand on the floor).

Our only issue is with the USB wireless adapter. We were not sure that wifi wasn't a part of it as well as the adapter did not work nicely when linked to 2.4Ghz wireless N. It was best on 5ghz. We're concerned how the remote which 2.4ghz may interfere.
Internet content isn't great. The YouTube app is terrible as it starts playing the highest viewed youtube video of the day which can be always some semi explict video. Not good when trying to tug up a clip of Barney for my children. The browser is slow and the LG apps all require LG accounts which can be annoying to have to signup for.

It was all to easy to install and fasten up, ...-Then the enjoyment began to discover ways to utilize it.
* Overall, the 2D and 3D picture rocks !, and external sound is excellent, ....as soon as you finally learn how to build the television !
For your first couple of days, the key menu and sub-menus weren't really easy to learn and use. There was menu difficulty due to the fact the sparse manual that has been provided with it, given it mainly shows mechanical and connection details of the tv screen, and is very short in detail about the display menus, without pictures from the displayed menus, nor just about any printed roadmap (just like a block flow chart) to find and acquire thru and use the many sub-menus.
It took lots of tries experimenting to even find many of the lower menus (kinda like Dungeons and Dragons) and we suspect there are even more to find currently, (Four weeks later).
If we finally found many of them, we were pleased with lots of the available control options. But wait, there are other found..
We use external speakers to enhance the audio, in order to find that several of the audio setup menus are disabled whenever we connect them.
We love the simple remote BlueTooth control while using on-screen cursor, it truely does work as described within the simple printed manual,(less setup the BlueTooth link). It easily controls the signal input selections, channels, sounds, and a few basic display window settings, nevertheless it won't reach to the multiple sub-menus available thru the primary remote control.
We wished to utilize the WiFi wireless connect to our home Wireless router, and found it does setup ok, (you will need to utilize the TVs embedded wireless menu to get it done).

Fabulous and surprising in 3D...but hate insufficient audio out

Observations:
1. Watching in the air TV in HD is amazing. Once in a while still see blur during sport actions, but got mostly clear actions.
2. Using HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature to play Dolby Digital audio through a audio receiver is extremely good during football games.
3. So far only watch two 3D movies (The most up-to-date Harry Potter (Biggest score exclusive) as well as the latest Narnia (reached it free with Sony Blu-ray player)). Those two movies showed 3D depths but nothing really pops out. Although the 3D quality is actually good, kids were kind of disappointed that nothing really pops out. Based on other reviews, I assume the pops out effects are influenced by the movies and i also just need to get the correct one.
4. Watching Netflix isn't as smooth while i like. May function as the included dongle's Wi-Fi connection speed just isn't good enough. Kind of disappointed. I wound up still watching Netflix using my Sony Blu-ray player.
5. Like others, I would not such as the energy saving feature. Dark colored. I powered down the energy saving feature and employ Vivid mode to go to the brightness level i like.
6. When in the home screen, I keep seeing what it's all about how the TV is updating software, is apparently endlessly updating. I wonder what were being updated...
7. Playing Xbox 360 system games are fine thus far. Tested Forza Motorsport 4 and Dance Central 2. Both showed clear video quality with out blur in any way.
8. May be it is usual of LED TV, if watching from a wide angle (+45 degree from watching straight on), the screen seems a good deal dimmer than from straight on.
Overall, both 2D and 3D are fantastic. Very pleased with purchasing.
Unbelievable product...
I will warn you: don't assume all movies will "POP" out at you like the demo you will see at the shop. Movies like "Green Lantern" and "Thor" will only show depth. Flip side is, some movies like "Legend of Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" is designed specifically cinema 3d, and appearance UNBELIEVABLE for this set.
The only con: Sound is lacking. I fixed this simply by using a nice list of small computer speakers we've from cambridge sound works with subwoofer that works great.
All said and done, i would recommend this set to anyone!

Excellent TV by incorporating minor flaws
Pros :
1. Picture quality is amazing. Some see such quality on any TV yet.
2. 3D experience is superb. The 2D->3D conversion is a little superficial nonetheless it does help the experience. Watched Lord of The Rings in 3D day or two back and yes it was obviously a fresh experience.
3. The Smart TV is in general good with 3D mode app which has plenty of documentaries to stream, still the app store has lot to enhance.
4. The five button remote is not only beautiful in looks, it's very handy which i practically never touch another one!
Cons :
1. DLNA connectivity are a wide dissatisfied, but I expect that its a temporary thing. My Plex along with other DLNA servers take time and effort found through the TV. The Plex client is visually appealing and useful too provided TV can find it which hardly happens. Spoke with LG customer care i heard these are implementing it. The Plex Apps are good.
2. Sound mentionened above previously by others is below par.
Besides this, I havent used HDMI yet :P, will update the review as i get a 3D blu ray player.
WOW - what a TV
It's just the right size for our room (19 x 15) and we've mounted it onto a stand (instead of the wall) as it is in a very corner. It looks good with it's black surround and matt screen. Even though our previous RPTV was working okay, the reflections on screen all the windows (in spite of the blinds shut) meant we couldn't watch a movie in daytime - the picture was passed completely. Since we changed to the LG, the matt screen ensures that we can now watch a movie in the daytime - so much in fact that we don't notice any reflections now whatsoever. If there is a very bright room, a matt screen could be the best option (i do believe the Matt screens looks much better than shiny ones anyways).
The colours are vibrant and clear as well as the picture is extremely good (although i did so ought to tweak the settings within the menu in order to get a better picture). Some say the speakers are useless but we've found them perfectly adequate for day-to-day viewing. If you would like multichannel then obviously you'll want to add a received and separate speakers. But as being a regular lounge room Tv, they're fine.
One from the stated issues with LCD screens may be the so called 'motion blur'. We haven't noticed these blur in any way (- I truly do notice blur and have noticed it within my brother's house on his other brand TV).
Connection to the net was simple and easy , the tv screen automatically upgraded to the newest software version. I can't touch upon the wifi connection once we are using ethernet that is a far better option when you can travel that road. The 'home' page could possibly be better organized. The LG apps are cool but gimmicky - say for example a 3D kids the one that enables you to check out 3D - which is a little gimmicky. The other apps (youtube, netflix etc) do their job OK and you may download some more if you'd like.
All in all - were very happy with all the TV and recommend it.
BTW - great return policy and service from Amazon - If only all companies would require a leaf away from Amazon's book on return policies.

If a person has had active 3D, you will realize these are an irritation to watch! the glasses despite the fact that improved now are still bulkier than passive 3d glasses. active 3d glasses are very pricey. This tv includes 4 pairs and i also got 4 more pairs from the dollar cinema showing a 3d movie :) Now we can easily all watch 3d movies at home with friends and family! include that up for 8 active shutter glasses and you may see its almost a $400 expense! Also, passive 3d glasses do not offer you headache like active 3d do! ALSO, active 3d glasses go on running into difficulties with syncing during the movie, passive 3d will not. The picture quality in 3d is definitely better in active 3D though the difference is minimal. Remember, passive 3d could be the technology they will use in cinemas too... so it cant be THAT bad... right???

Regarding the 3D, it isn't really enough to purchase this TV specifically, however it is a great additional feature. I prefer the theater 3d as good as the active 3D, which bothered my eyes once i ever done it. It does include a awesome extra dimension in almost any 3D movies/shows you will discover, but sometimes it is a bit lacking, particularly with 3D sports. GREAT 3D TV
The only drawback We've learned about this TV, but cannot confirm, will be the sound, but I have it hooked up to a multichannel surround sound system and it is AMAZING, so no complaints.
Oh, i agonized in the 5600 model vs. the 6500 model. I ultimately chose that one in fact it is amazing. I cannot envision the 6500 model being much better, therefore i suggest you'll save your dollars and go with this.
Two words - Totally Awesome
The 2D picture is entirely awesome. The 3D can be awesome and uses the cheap transportable glasses. The 2D to 3D choice is a OK nevertheless it will not make 2D - 3D. I got a new wall mount that lets me move the television up or down or angle it i seriously don't need to move the TV. It is perfectly clear at a 20 degree angle.
I possess a 60" Sony Bravia, which TV just blows it away. It is usually nice to offer the internet capability. It connects to my home network Wi-Fi and that i can stream movies exactly like I had created a hardwire connection.
I haven't was required to call LG customer satisfaction but get emails wanting my comments and i also did sign on and use the knownledge base to obtain my remote build. LG customer service seems excellent.

Wireless internet setup would be a breeze. I just turn on the wireless adapter and input my network password. The TV detected a fresh firmware update.
Default colors are fantastic to my liking. My lady loves the neighborhood dimming technology. I tried the calibration settings that one could find online but I found out that the default settings were better.

As soon as I tried the LG 3d demo at the shop I was sold. The picture was excellent as well as the 3d depth and Take off was what really sold me. I already loved the concept of passive technology because I recently didn't need to take care of the charge, care and charging of shutter glasses not to mention the different comfort levels determined by brand. 3D gaming with PS3 and my PC are fantastic. There isn't any large number of movies yet but everything We have watched looks great.
This HDTV has all this even 2D to 3D conversion increases results than I ever expected. The special moment Motion remote is really a nice bonus which works exactly like my GyroMouse for PC. I have waited for many years for TV remotes to possess a point and then click mouse type GUI and this TV has it as well as a traditional remote, I recently wish U-Verse had it.
As far because the "full HD 3D " thing, technically each eye gets half but at normal viewing distance it isn't really really noticeable and also the illusion from both eyes looks great. 2D viewing is full 1080P.

Great price to get a great tv
PROS
1. You will find there's lots of windows next to the TV - it does not wash out in any way in bright light.
2. Passive 3D glasses work great - no batteries/recharging needed. Plus the RealD 3D glasses from my cinema work great about it.
3. Using a PS3 - 3D movies look fantastic. Yogi Bear 3D showed a great deal of depth inside 3D, very clear, and several scenes really popped off of the screen coming at you.
4. Chose Standard Shipping - had TV next day. Thanks Amazon!
5. Very thin and light-weight, easy for anyone to maneuver.
6. I believed the 2D to 3D conversion only agreed to be for real - nevertheless it works quite well, especially on Blu Ray movies. I tried it on some PS3 game titles, and was surprised how much it does enhance the experience, even on older games.
CONS
1. In fact I'm not really good at mechanical stuff, as well as the instructions weren't clear on assembling the stand (they deomonstrate how to assemble like 10 different stands, none ones was mine). I needed to be smarter compared to the thing, which apparently I wasn't :) Took much too long, yet it's only 8 screws... oops!
2. The Smart TV functions are a small dissatisfied. The Facebook app is very tedious to use (takes forever to find the friend you would like since it only shows a number of on screen simultaneously) and the application selection is horrible. Hopefully LG resolves that soon.

Overall this is a great tv and I highlight recommend it.
Very good LED at great price
I just have a couple of minor gripes. The remote's directional buttons used to navigate menus etc are 'clicky' that i dislike and they are generally flush with the other buttons making undesired button presses common. One other gripe is always that on a black screen with white type including credits there is a glow through the side of the screen that decreases the darkness from the black. I've only noticed it in stark contrast situations like titles and credits so it is a really minor issue.|

The set features a very robust base, compared to skimpier bases on other sets. I am aware many prefer to mount sets to walls, but if that you do not it's an excellent strong stand which will easily swivel the set nearly everywhere (although not down or up).
Viewing angle is superb, and color retention at high angles is decent. In a very well lit room with lots of windows during strong daylight the picture remains easily visible.
LG gives a variety of applications, including a 3D streaming channel. They're free. Netflix, Huluplus, Amazon, Youtube and a lot from the staples of internet streaming are supported. Much like games, books, even news, entertainment and children's media content.
A web browser is protected, it was capable of display complex pages, manage secure login, and render relatively advanced pages (including pages with flash player) very well (even though it was a bit poky in comparison with my desktop PC).
The screen is incredibly congratulations, built-in speakers are jointly would expect not the maximum, but you are consistent with other similar sets.
Weight and thickness are perfect, this set weighs lower than among my old 42" LCD's.
3D HDMI worked with my DirecTV box, and I could play in the 2 free channels DirecTV currently supplies 3D viewing.

So far this is a winner for my loved ones. Everyone enjoys it. Even in 2D pictures are crisp. The set has some sound configuration options that inhibit some commercials from being much louder as opposed to non-commercial a part of a plan.
There are two controllers provided, the first is a standard remote, similar to by using any other set. The opposite is a wand remote that at first seems very unimpressive. The wand functions similarly (but is overall inferior to) a Wii handheld remote control. To active the person clicks once, and gets a target shown on the screen, then in most situations the wand may be moved left / right / up / down as well as the user can hit enter once the target is finished the button they need. This utilizes most data entry.

Since it wasn't the 240 hz refresh rate, I worried that the picture couldn't survive as clear and sharp as my Samsung 47" with the 120 hz rate. I, up to now, have been verified wrong about that. The image is fantastic in any manner relative it is.
Now, I am not a large gamer. I'm too old for your (although I really do own both an Xbox with Kinect along with a Wii). So I can't verify the issues other reviewers stated regarding the slower refresh rate causing their video to lag while playing. As of yet, I saw no lag in anything I viewed currently. I must say i believe that if you don't will be one of those ultimately picky folks that I have encounter in other reviews, whether you decide to purchase this TV while using 120 hz rate with the 240, I'm you may enjoy the picture no matter what.
One comparison We have between my Samsung 47" and also the LG 55" is it seems because of the reviews of such TV's, everyone is complaining about the light LED bleeding especially from the corners. I saw that very sugnificantly with the Samsung. But, I must say with my experience with owning this TV during the last week, there is no such bleeding to talk of. The top of left corner appears to display a slightly lighter glow compared to other three but absolutely nothing to sometimes be annoyed about. After watching the film "Cowboys + Aliens" yesterday, I became awe struck from the clarity with the picture along with the real colors. No, it wasn't a blu ray copy, just the standard DVD copy plus it used to be awesome. I felt like I can walk directly into the screen and turn into the main movie. With my theatre sound knowning that picture, I felt like I became back in the theatre watching it for the second time. Oh, plus it was also not in 3D mode either.
I am unsure We are everything big about the local dimming option either because I was just a little annoyed any time the scene went dark, and i also had the area dark with just the christmas tree lights on, the picture would darken. When some form of lighting seems on the watch's screen, the image would lighten back up to normal. I believed this became odd about me, shouldn't the image, in a brighter setting then become dim as an alternative to brighter? I not really know maybe I was seeing it incorrectly, unsure.
As other reviewers have commented in regards to the 3D just for this television, in such a way I actually do still find it type of gimmicky, (if that is anything). But, that too, remains to be a very awesome feature for home theatre. By gimmicky, I discovered that although with all the 3D mode during regular television viewing, when the frame of actors was still without requiring much movement, then the picture appeared 2D. But after the scene got more active and there was more background motion, and the other can greatly so begin to see the depth of 3D. Furthermore, i pointed out that when viewing a course in true HD, if in 3D mode, the sharper the picture, greater the 3D depth stands apart. Now, movies and videos that are shot in 3D are awesome! We've TRON Legacy in 3D. When you buy this TV I also purchased an LG 3D blu ray player. It absolutely was so awesome to be able to view that movie feeling as if I used to be at the theatre watching it for that second in time 3D. It is so cool also, with the passive 3D, it's possible to view movies and shows in 3D without worrying of a second box or if your batteries will certainly die. You just place the glasses on when switched to 3D mode and totally enjoy!
The LG apps are ok. There might be more. One reviewer totally deposit the Netflix app. I came across no problem by using it. It loaded my shows okay and that i actually watched and episode of "The Munsters" in 3D. Very cool. I dowloaded the 3D Zone app. It's really a cool app if you want something to offer you the appearance of what your 3D watching experience should be like. The videos are streamed on the internet connection and since my wireless seems a lttle bit hoaky from time to time where it really is located, I had to hold back for each and every 30 second group of video to maintain downloading. I additionally didn't much like the way the producers of the 3D vidoes felt it important to combine the logos to the videos with actual moving background videos. The whole experience was very annoying will be able to watch wonderful that misplaced movement taking place. When you get passed the logos as well as the actual video starts to play, then it's pretty cool to view in 3D.

It provides a whole suite of picture setting options, some even I would not know very well what they do.
Oh, and I also discover the magic remote quite useful. I prefer using it using the pointer on screen like a "one click and point" button solution over looking to go through the menu options and trying to get each of the right keys on the regular remote, especially if you can't see them in the dark. It's so less difficult to utilize as opposed to standard remote device. So, to me, the special moment remote is a huge plus!
The only drawback I found annoying, as others have mentioned, the speakers of those thin tv's use a bit to become desired. But exactly what do one expect. I felt like as soon as you adjust all of the sound options, you may get some pretty good sound from the built-in speakers so again that function isn't even too bad. But, I would like to manage to add my first sub-woofer for added bass during regular TV viewing, without having to run it over the stereo reciever where a second sub-woofer is connected. The only real option I possibly could find about the back on an external audio out connection was the headphone jack. I could plugging my sub-woofer into that jack but because it's defined as a headphone jack, the tv screen "smartly" disables the on-board speakers as well as doesn't provide user the choice to do so his or herself. The tv screen warns you you have plugged something in the headphone jack and also the the speakers shut off. Then I will get some bass through my sub-woofer however without the sound through the TV. Hmmmmm.... The Samsung at least we had not a headphone jack but a labeled audio out jack and didn't disable the inner speakers until you opted for this with the options screen. So, now I have to research an additional way to get sound to my first sub-woofer without having to turn move through my stereo receiver first.
I also noticed citizens were complaining regarding the digital fibre optic output understanding that it didn't move across the 5.1 audio. I have not hooked anything approximately that yet so I am not planning to review or comment further unless I really do.

Update, 1.5 months after purchase....
I still choose each of the above except now I have tried the five.1 optical output. I tried playing some dvd videos with 5.1 surroumd sound still encoded and the sound was produced equally it was using the original movies through all 5 speakers. I ran across that to become awesome!
I also can't locate where people Anxiety regarding the saying the resolution has cut in two when viewing 3D. What exactly can you people feel your eyes are actually competent at detecting if you watch television? Geez!! I felt when veiwing 3D, the picture looks likewise sharp and clear as when viewing 2D. Maybe That's not me as picky as a number of you but if you expect something a lot more than your individual eyes can easily detect to start with, which is going much in my book! Just watch it and revel in!
I personally love this television and I personally NOT planning to wait 12 months for a lot of other technology to be released. In terms of I am concerned, the following technology must be whenever they make images holographic and check in the heart of my lounge or viewing area without the need for any glasses or wearing anything extra for veiwing what-so-ever. Bang to the buck 3D TV
The initial assembly and setup took about 15 min. This TV includes 2 remotes one of these will be the handy Wii-type controller, to do on-screen selections. It is extremely responsive and makes it on the way of shop around in the TV GUI. A great leap towards conserving your carbon footprint and price savings. If you are not satisfied with the adjustments that this TV makes, and desire the rich bright shiny picture to be delivered inside highest and crispest quality, you can manually over-ride the TV's adjustment settings, thru the short menu setup.
The only negative that I can think of with this TV may be the delivery of "bass" in audio. My other TV can be a Panasonic Plasma 50" and fot it TV, the audio on this TV is not that great. We will need to do not forget that here is the case with most from the wafer thin LED TVs. Thinner TVs cannot (yet) accommodate once and for all woofers within, hence relatively not have the "bass" quality. And so i cant hold it from this particular TV or model.

Lower resolution, but far better experience overall.
The glasses are really light which i don't even notice them. When you gaze round the room there's no flicker and things are all just tinted a little darker as compared to no glasses at all. Another big plus is you can get 3D polarized clip-on glasses which can be very nice for people already wearing glasses.
Ghosting is eliminated too since each eye sees some other image the entire time rather than rapidly switching forward and backward like the LCD glasses.
Active LCD glasses 3dtv provides you with a sharper image than this passive set, nevertheless for me the advantages outweigh the cons by the mile.

Beautiful piece of equipment though and I will likely be returning it for that LG LSW400BG 52-Inch to 60-Inch EZ Slim Wall Mount for LG LED/LCD HDTVs. I wish there was a recommendation for the right LG mount while using set. I didn't realize there was an issue and realized that the screws around the set were much apart for that mount.
I never liked 3d before.
I hate watching 3d movies in theaters. I must watch just 3d movies / sports / tv when i'm in your house.
No headaches. No fatigue. I watched avatar 3d and tron 3d back to back and might easily carry on. The 3d is extremely good for this tv to the point it almost baffles me why anyone would opt for an engaged set.
2d looks great also and i also haven't calibrated anything yet except turning off trumotion.
Magic remote is actually cool however with all of the comparisons on the wii remote if only it handled as accurately. It's only an option of course and also the smart apps work well.
It's a great tv your money can buy.
Sold me on 3d
I've never been anyone to buy new-old technology, i really decided I'd browse the 3d TVs inside my budget.
At a popular electronic store that they had this LG close to a Sony active 3d TV. I originally ignored the LG because the crummy plastic glasses just didn't resemble they can do just fine, but after while using the shutter glasses... I wasn't impressed in any respect.
My girlfriend got me to look at this LG's demo of a fish. My god, it blew me away! It during this store was over 2000, on Amazon it absolutely was nearly half the purchase price therefore i purchased it the very next day.
In games like Shadow in the Colossus this TV has looked absolutely dazzling. It's strange to express it using this method, however the 3d effect can make it feel as if it's a step-above high definition.
The only movie I've watched thus far is Tekken Vengeance (section of Tekken Hybrid) which absolutely blew me away too.
I hate to say, it's the future, so a growing number of things will become being in 3d. This is an affordable option with all the current bells and whistles. For people who find themselves against 3d generally speaking a very important factor I've noticed is when you watch something for a time using the glasses into it becomes very natural and I've yet to undertake a headache or anything (because i have with shutter glasses).

55" Review
First of all, in case you have a brilliant phone receive the LG Remote App. Works a lot better than the Magic Wand remote. You can use your known as to help the cross hairs as opposed to pointing the remote also it makes life a lot easier.
Secondly, the 3D is much better than I figured it might be. I figured it will try to be an extra i only bust out on special occasions however it is actually pretty impressive. Haven't watched any 3D blu-ray movies yet but Batman: Arkham City looked great in 3D (Xbox) and 3Net on DirecTV had some cool 3D programming that looked great for this TV. ESPN 3D looked great too. Football and Baseball looked great while basketball looked okay. We used the 2D to 3D conversion for the Devils/Rangers game yesterday and it actually worked practically. Less good as something that was shot in 3D nevertheless it was still being impressive. Better than I believed.
The 2D picture in HD is amazing. Simply a great picture. I made use of the settings that Kevin Nicholls suggests within the comments area of his review and everything looks great. Mass Effect 3 (360) looks amazing on this TV.
The only complaint I have is not related to the tv screen itself. My TV arrived which has a 2 inch dent for the frame within the top left corner of the TV. The screen in unharmed and the blemish isn't noticeable enough to generate me send it back yet it's somewhat disappointing. Can't really blame the seller (Electronic Express) because I don't know when they shipped it like this or if Fedex dinged it during delivery. Just something to think about when getting similar to this delivered.
All in most I'd recommend this TV especially in the price they're offering it for (I got it when it turned out $1500). I read the reviews with this TV and yes it still exceeded my expectations.
Edit: Oh and do not attempt to install the stand with the TV laying flat on the floor. It has to be elevated or even the stand won't line up correctly. I learned this the hard way along to use the Styrofoam it came with to elevate it.
Bought Dec 2011, Excellent TV!!! GO PASSIVE 3D!!!
Right then high I started getting 3D Blu-ray movies and still have gotten several since. They are breathtakingly beautiful, simply amazing! (You can always switch the 3D effect off if preferable as well as the 2D image is equally as pristine.) Thought it couldn't get as well as at the theater? Its can, even better: on the movies, they are often a little off-focus, here the truth is them cristal-clear; with the movies, they may be a bit dark, here the brightness, contrast, color, detail, and so forth are tip-top--I did need picture-setting recommendations online to further improve this, but no biggy--; on the movies, they're able to have a bit too loud, here you merely build your house theater system to your liking! (A primary reason for upgrading to 3D Blu-ray technology is that I had created already obtained a more-than-decent ONKYO HT-S5400 7.1 channel speakers since May 2011 that was crying will get yourself a TV to go with it!) So, believe me, it does recover!!!
And, everything that active VS passive 3D talk is just nonsense. You are unable to go wrong with passive. Invest in a demo at the store to see yourself. Read online comparisons and they also give you a lot of logic behind why you can't beat passive--it is indeed easy to get extra pairs of lightweight glasses in assorted styles and sizes, for instance! (This could really hurt your economy if you decide to need extra "active" ones.) Also, the viewing angle is wide enough both horizontally and vertically. Maybe the only hiccup is you can't tilt this TV upon its base, only swivel it for the sides, but, however ,, when the vertical viewing angle reasonably compensates for it, than this is not a legitimate hiccup, right?

My one complaint first, the stand is garbage, seems flimsy and it sits about 1/8 - 3/8" crooked. It doesn't impact the viewing experience however i realize it will there be also it upsets me.
Picture quality is great. I oftentimes tried the calibration settings on CNet and just arrived the backlight beyond their specs since i have have the TV in a very bright room. PS3 games look fantastic. I'd grown sick and tired of Skyrim after 160 hours of gameplay but after i watched it in 1080p 3d I had created to start out a brand new character. On any HD programming I absolutely love it. For non HD programming or programming that is older the high quality can be quite a bit blurry with all the 120hz (again was applied to viewing in 60hz) that is minimal impact to me.
User interface is decent and the preloaded applications are pretty user friendly, ideal for me to nerd out on Netflix documentaries. Wifi connectivity setup was obviously a breeze. The browser is worthless though, so no surfing around the TV, hook up a laptop or fire up the gaming console if that's your personal style.
Passive 3d - fantastic experience. I cannot debate picture quality of active vs passive 3d with anyone but passive may be the right selection for me. In the shop watched some Blu-Ray aquatic documentary and yes it really was sweet, the fish swam out at you and the glasses are really non intrusive, being a pair of light-weight sunglasses. Along with the tariff of replacement glasses - negligible vs the active glasses of Samsung TVs. I am like with all the 2d-3d conversion it adds depth to the picture instead of things flying from the TV, still cool. If you are super 3d nerd and wish the maximum picture quality and more depth maybe active may be the way to go, but for me I enjoy upgrading games to 3d along with the occasional sporting event or HBO movie now again rent the Blu-Ray 3d so Active is ideal. I'm not really a videophile - prefer high value electronics vs 3k dollar TV, I am talking about it will be outdated in a few years anyway, right?
for $1300 minus my Vizio sold for $200 on Craigslist, cannot beat the value.

Best TV Picture I've ever Seen!
Originally I was thinking 55" could be overkill in the room where I watch from 10' away, however, not so! You can see every hair over a person's head as long as it's HD. I'm noticing standard-def not looking too proficient at all. Blu-ray movies are fantastic and definately will remind you why you went Blu-ray in the first place. The sound around the TV is around as well as any two little speakers may be; which isn't great. I would highly recommend a home-theater system. This TV works perfectly with my Panasonic SC-BTT770 5.1 Channel 3D Blu-ray Cinema Surround Home Entertainment System and fixes all sound issues. This TV, along with the home theater system and perfectly placed speakers creates a true home cinema experience, specially in my tiny room. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone. But just in case, I did have the five year guarantee and beefed up my house home security system. ;)

It has great internet interface which allows seamless link to all popular video downloading venues like Kindle, Netflix, iTunes, etc. It also has a pointer that acts as being a mouse that allows you to key information or "click" options without difficulty. The sound is more than adequate, and as good because i have ever had which has a TV. The prices was also extremely completive; actually outstanding.
I bought the LG Infinia 47w5600 in September and also have waited a couple of months to evaluate it out before writing the review. My first TV was bought in 1949 it turned out an Admiral and had a huge 7in screen. I mention this because I wish to establish my "credentials" as someone who has experience with televisions. Always being enthusiastic about technology, I had the "first personal computer around the block" (a Radio Shack with TRS DOS), video camera (in regards to the size a small lunch box), and a video recorder (BetaMax). As a photographer, I calibrate my monitor and paper which has a Spyder. In brief, I am about as fussy as possible regarding color, definition, as well as, televisions.

So in regards to the 3D. The glasses that accompany the set are OK. However i could get yourself a set with 6 pairs for 40 bucks which may have an arrangement for all. I wear glasses and it included a pair of clip on glasses that work well great. Haven't watched a ton of 3D stuff. I managed to get a surfing movie and it appears to be it's are coming right into the family room. I've Directv too with a few channels which can be 3D and look fantastic. Had some friend onto check out the new TV and that we were all laughing at each other ducking the 3D images coming at us.
One more thing could be the TV includes two remotes. The first is like most TV's includes. However it is great. Has a nice feel and also the buttons are colored where you can nice feel. But I possess a Logitech Harmony remote. Works good on television. But the cool thing may be the TV comes with another WII style remote that's nice slender. And is great for addressing all the TV smart features. Still two remotes. And not too bad.
Very Pleased-Excellent Value
As for the tv itself, can't be a little more pleased. Worked perfectly right out in the box. Have made a number of minor changes in picture and it's also beautiful. Tru Motion is scary how real some shows come in HD, as if you are in the studio.
Streaming video is useful, up to now simply have used Amazon and Netflix, but no hiccups in any way. 2D to 3D works as described and also have watched one 3D movie (Rio) and after plugging HDMI direct form PS3 to tv and digital audio by theater also worked perfectly. Passive 3D, personally, could be the approach to take.
Just wanted an Resulted in replace my 6 year-old Sony HD rear projection (still working and moved to bedroom). This LG with 3D and Smart features was too good to feed up. Couldn't become more happy with this purchase and would certainly recommend to everyone.
P.S. Magic Motion Remote and 4 pairs of 3D glasses just enhance the overall great package for LG.
Great TV - Great Value
Picked up the phone and called Amazon and told them that the TV had a concern and without even asking me to spell out the situation they scheduled an upgraded to get sent to me ASAP. This happened on Wednesday December 14th and I was relayed through the Amazon rep who's would take with regards to a week to have the replacement delivered. Much to my delight the shippers referred to as next Saturday and asked easily would love for that TV to be delivered that day the sole caveat being that there could be no shipper provided setup - I didnrrrt need any setup assistance so that they brought the television out early Saturday afternoon and grabbed the defective unit.
I've had the tv screen for around Fourteen days now and i'm absolutely thrilled with all the TV. I'm using Amazon Prime Video along with Netflix while using the built in LG internet access features. I am satisfied with both Amazon Prime and Netflix, I could not be happier with all the LG TV. The blacks are inky black as well as the bright images are awesome.
Haven't tried the 3D features much yet but that is not why I bought this model. Even without the 3D features this TV is definitely an incredible bargain at its cost. We sit relatively towards the TV (about 9-10 feet) and also the experience is fairly impressive.
I recommend this TV highly and am considering replacing a mature 60" Hitachi using the 65" LG.
Good 3D TV
One odd design is the TV uses HDMI 1.4, which includes Ethernet in the cable, but nonetheless requires a separate Ethernet or wireless link to use the internet.
A severer problem is that there's a laser-pointer-like remote for your TV but wireless signals (including the one it uses) will restrict it, so the pointer on the watch's screen isn't in sync using the movement in the remote, which makes utilizing it to click buttons for the on-screen keyboard a chore. Using the arrow secrets to type is also slow. I threw in the towel after it took 2 minutes to type "sons of" inside the TV's YouTube app's search box. It only took 1 minute to connect my computer towards the TV to view YouTube. So, the smart TV (i.e., apps like those found on smartphones) is essentially useless and I recommend connecting a pc and taking advantage of an invisible mouse and keyboard instead.

I was in the retail industry for televisions for many years and I have observed some very nice televisions, but that one blows them away. The picture, the colours, and the 3D is incredible. I would be a small bit skeptical concerning the TruMotion to start with, nevertheless it makes everything so real, it almost looks fake.
I remember when I first started learning about LG products so we sold mainly Toshiba and RCA at our store. I didn't originally think most of the LG products until we started selling them ourselves and since then I have purchased 3 LG televisions, among other products. I have owned Sony, Toshiba, RCA, Sharp, etc LCD's before and also to date I haven't found almost anything to match with LG.

I'm astonished by the picture quality of this tv,but ended up returning it.
Clouding and blur got really bad enough to bother me and return it. Looking for another Tv now. Maybe mine would have been a bad set and can even find the same one or even the 65lw6500.
Price dropped twice. Once it dropped $14 dollar by Paul's Tv and also the second timed in dropped an additional $50 by amazon. Had no problem obtaining a refund.

As for your LG5600. I'm not one of the most savy electronics person ( just ask my Ex-wife who now owns my 47 inch LG, for clarification), i really was expecting this becoming a hassle to acquire create. I began out slow, by only hooking up cable TV. That only took 5 minutes, so now I became prepared to attempt the DVD and VCR. That has been another 5 minutes and so I tested out the 2D to 3D feature having a Get Smart CD. Wow! How cool traversing to a black and white episode of Get Smart in semi 3D! I switched off the vitality saver feature, because it was making the image darker and uneven for your room it is in knowning that helped a great deal. The image is fantastic! I'm only by using a $40 DVD player with no HDMI cable get together for either the DVD player or perhaps the VCR as well as the picture remains to be great! I read on the net connection issues a lot of people have, steer clear only this TV but all Smart TV's. Though I've wireless on the house, I figured I'd be hard-wiring just to steer clear of the frustration, i really had already measured out how many feet of cable I'd personally have to get on the router downstairs. I figured I would at the very least try the provided adapter that came with the LG to see the way it went. Plugged it in to the back with the TV plus about 5 seconds, I used to be updating the television software and registering to begin with installing the Applications I needed! I have my ps3 connected and yes it looks great. Many people say there is lag but only game We've experienced lag thus far is battlefield 3 which may be on their own servers.
I do not have 3d movies yet but I have tried resistance 3 demo in 3d and also the 3d app that you can install around the tv. The 3d looks amazing. It is not the 3d where situations are popping out at you. Within the 3d app there's a video of ocean diving with sharks also it seems like your in water with the sharks.

The passive 3D glasses are cheap, light, might be stylish (doesn't require the thick heavy battery) and still have clip-on this is a big plus for friends that is already wearing a glasses. Family members pack that Amazon offers for free is really nice, superior to the F210 ones you will obtain individually. Those are the stylish ones I had been referring to.
And another really nice touch is sensible TV that i am not sure if it is in bluray player inside the 55LW5300 combo. But be capable of rent or watch movie from vudu, netflix or hulu plus is quite convenient. Being integrated within the TV can make it a simplier setup (e.g. u don't have to be switching input for receiver or having more clutter of wire in hooking up a roku or HTPC). Additionally, it may play movies/video files in my desktop via DLNA.
Even minus the 240Hz refresh rate current slightly lower contrast ratio (8M vs 9M) comparing to 55LW6500, the picture quality still looks great to me.

This is a good TV, best price was on Amazon. Delivery took about 4 days and everything went well. I needed to obtain the biggest screen possible for under 1500 which set stood out among all other brands for features price and display size. Picture quality is great, network setup is easy and works fine (in spite of DSL I've no problems streaming from my PC or Laptop to the TV, using DLNA or PLEX) great features for picture adjustment, 3D content from 3D Blue-Ray discs is awesome, 2D to 3D conversion is superb from HD sources. To get a minute medium room the sound is adequate. No problems playing FPS (first person shooter) on PS3. Playing KZ3 in 3D is impressive. I have owned this set for about Four weeks that i'm very delighted by this purchase.

We sit only 10 feet away on the huge sectional that wraps the space. No degrading view from almost every angle.
I re-configured while using settings suggested in certain other reviews, although I did so shut off Tru-Motion. Much better than along with.
3D is fun nevertheless the results are mixed:
Viewing a 3D movie using LG BD670 3D DVD player - Simply awesome. Plenty of ooo ahhh moments.
Viewing a blue ray dvd action movie and having TV come to be 3D - Excellent. The foreground objects is going to be 3D-ish though the TV may blur the background in achieving this affect. I think this is whats called critical focus. Not really a game changer.

Extremely Happy
The TV is excellent visually though the a very important factor that compelled me to publish this review may be the 2D to 3D feature. I figured I'd personally wind up being forced to get a blu-ray with 3D and rent special 3D movies, site in order to the 3D but I was wrong. The 2D to 3D feature is usually tricking me. I am constantly walking with the living roon and asking my daughter how she got that relate on 3D. The only negatives that I can find are extremely minor... the blooming/flash light effect can result in seen if black screens are displayed quickly when the back light is defined higher (and not when watching actual content) which can be fixed by arriving the local dimming settings to high and turning on the back light, along with the wifi requires a usb as opposed to internal that shines a blue light (really minor), and the stand is has some wobble inside (who cares really). And this is just being honest, the sole the things i can see anyone complaining about.... nothing at this price to even be worried about.

My decision was mainly based on customers feedback, i will easily notice that we are happy using this type of product.
Incredible image quality with HD Direct Tv stations or BluRay movies, highest bright and contrast, suprisingly low power requirement when compared with plasma.
The Smart TV functions look cool; the wireless WiFI adapter worked flawless out of the box, however I have not explore each of the options since my Web connection is quite slow (512k downlink), so I am upgrading it to your considerably quicker one.
I have never tested the full 3D capabilities of the TV since I don't possess a 3D source, the simulation the TV itself will make for the regular images. It's interesting, however i guarantee that the experience will probably be completely different with proper 3D programs (Actually, I needed to purchase the LG BD690 BluRay 3D player and several movies... expecting them at the moment).
My old 720 lines LG plasma was actually very good, yet it's not rival for this new HDTV.

Finally I received my new LG BD690 Blu Ray 3D reader along with a number of 3D movies (Underneath the Sea and Space Station) and i'm absolutely happy with the picture quality as well as the depth effects. The 3D experience is incredible.
The 3D passive glasses are very comfortable and lightweight that you don't even think you are along with them, rather than the more heavy battery powered(and even wired) active glasses. I received four glasses with my TV, that's enough personally and my loved ones but I am likely to order a lot more since i have am certain that that my 3D set will end up an area of atraction to friends too.
Worth It!
1. Passive 3D glasses are snug and practical. We found a few for free through the local theater. Couldn't find comparable TVs to the price and convinience in Sony, Panasonic or Samsungs
2. You can chose various modes--movie, sports, standard, etc which has a click of a button--gives you a good range and provide dark Samsung-like colors
3. The wireless works great--I am able to watch videos, photographs stored in my home network server
4. Contrary with a previous complaints, we've got no problems watching Netflix--speed and quality is definitely fine
5. It is light, simple to create and simple to use navigation (set the unit up inside of an hour with minimum guidance from your manual
6. I prefer the wand and use it rather than the remote control--if you might be accustomed to Wii, the wand just works just like the Wii controller

To answer these question, I probably waited must be tv this huge wouldn't fit in my car and that i wasn't confident that a delivery would work well. However, the "white glove" service from Amazon's shipper, CEVA, was great. They carried the TV right into my family room and unpacked the television.
The only negative thing I've got to have to say is not in regards to the TV in any respect (and for that reason didn't impact the star rating). Amazon highlights their "low price gty" making sure that if you find a lower price within the next Fourteen days they may refund the difference (which lots of people probably will think is perfect for 30 days that is a spot I will not get in to within this review). However, buried in the small print is the fact that you can only claim the reduced price once. I developed a $7 claim on a $1400 TV, that we obviously wouldn't did 1 day in the 14-day period only was conscious of the one-time price-match clause. Great Picture, Great Wireless, Great 3D Experience
1. It connected to my wireless network a breeze with no problems at all.
2. It immediately discovered that there were a firmware upgrade available and did the upgrade without the glitches.
3. Link to streaming content was super easy and incredibly intuitive.
4. Viewing of blue rays using my 5-year-old SONY blue ray player (DMP-BD30) was substantially much better than about the Samsung this TV is replacing, (Samsung LNS4095D). I used to be really amazed at the improvement in the color and detail within the Samsung.
5. My wife and I watched a bunch of 3D trailers on VUDU as well as watched the total amount of "Bolt" in 3D. Each of us were really surprised at the quality of the 3D experience. I imagine it will likely be even better by way of a 3D Blue ray dvd player player. I ordered the OPPO BDM-93 today and can't wait to view how the TV looks your.

- Internet is nice. We utilize the wired internet on a regular basis to stream movies off Vudu.com. Vudu is an excellent service and that we will no longer rent videos coming from a store, but watch most all movies and several TV shoes through vudu streaming service. This TV is extremely good just for that.
- Love the 3D. Ok there's little or no 3D content to stream available yet as this is still pretty new technology. But the Avengers just arrived in 3D version plus it looked stunning. Just like going to the theatre to me. Love the 3D. Can't wait for a content to trap as much as the technology as there are more 3D content available.
Some minor gripes are the pointer device to type things. It's a bit kludgy and slow. This could have been greater with some small keyboard device. But this was one of the primary generation of TVs with internet and apps internal. So not complaining much there. I'm sure will be increased soon or else already. Ideally utilizing your smartphone to type things in would be the smartest choice for typing/searching for content/apps etc.

Till today(March, 2012) it really is delivering what I needed. However I haven't got the opportunity to test the lag thing that's mention by many reviewer here, I played couple games using my PS3 (killing zone 3, Motor strom, sports champions) each of them seems OK in my experience, Some have to change any settings in order to play. Few the situation is needed to be mentioned:
1. The typical definition pictures aren't that great(I have come across better), An excellent opportunity to avoid buying this model,in case you watch SD transmission most of the time, I personally don't like standard transmission, and many of my favorite shows can be obtained through netflix streaming in hd, therefore I don't be concerned over it.
2. The settings along with is horrible, if you're not efficient at calibrating the images, please seek the help of your knowledgeable friends, or maybe you will experience horrible picture.
3. 3D experience is lot better than every other tv I know of thus far (Panasonic plasma 3d, samsung active shutter, sony active shutter, all these tv set it up headache). However, please maintain it mind as you're watching 3d the resolution will probably be cut into half because of passive 3d technology. I seat 8 feet out of the tv which is not too much distinguishable personally i really am Happy with this half resolution. It's my job to get impressed by the Imax Under water 3d video in the event the fish comes out through the tv as much as 6 feet.
4. I have set the television auto update feature ON, and yes it updated itself very often (started with version 2.something... and today it is 4.something). We are located in NJ and employ Optimum onlines' 15mbps connection which can be sufficiently good to watch 3d video from vudu, and hd videos from netflix and huluplus.
5. I didn't like the undeniable fact that you can not register to your youtube account and look at your playlist that you can do with lg bluray player. I wonder why LG tv was without which include.
6. Remember to not buy this tv if you are going to work with it in slower connection internet, it won't work that well (as I mentioned before, in SD, the image quality is horrible).
7. I enjoyed the 2d to 3d video a whole lot, that way I watch our kids videos recorded long ago in 3d, the results aren't because videos which can be originally recorded in 3d, but it is quite impressive. The depth may be controlled while you are watching this converted videos(conversion happens real-time).
8. I recently downloaded the LG SDK to formulate my own, personal tv apps but found restricted resource to acquire myself start with... looking to take action someday soon.
If you might be fine using the few problems I pointed out above, you should purchase this tv and stay happy much like me.

One thing I can't discover is how you can switch off the Trumotion on the apps. I turned it off on every one of the tv inputs, but was watching Vudu also it was definitely still on the website. The picture is incredible. I have already been watching 3D movies from Comcast 3D when needed and think that I've a movie theater within my family area.

It also streams my videos and pictures from home computer over WiFi by selecting streaming on Windows 7's media player as well as networking settings.
The speakers are fine, however i have a very good tuner and speaker system I can also use. The gap is as opposed to my wife needing to fool around with all the other remotes to observe her shows sans speakers which she cares nothing about like my last TV, I have the optical jack about the back with the TV starting my tuner. This lets me turn my speakers on while i long for them, but doesn't force my wife to cope with my audio system.
I don't have anything bad to say about this TV and would recommend it to anyone trying to find the top picture for that least take advantage a 55 incher.

Image quality:
The 5600 is capable of doing producing nicely balanced imagery. The default settings are far too punchy, but LG has evolved a reputation for providing a huge amount of picture controls, as well as the 5600 isn't exception. As I would not have any support material, I can not touch upon the 3d quality. I didn't find the TV for your feature, and until Xbox has some 3d gaming, I can't think I'll ever apply it.
Audio:
What? Which is always to say, weak. Ok for broadcast TV, but it can't handle dynamic sound that comes from movies. There's a port for the to export the audio. Put it to use.
Remote Controls:
The 5600 incorporates 2 remotes plus a remote device app that runs using your Android or Iphone device. One of these two remotes can be your typical button filled device. Works well. The second handheld remote control is really a minimalist unit that navigate menus using motion sensors. Basically a Nintendo wii gaming console like experience. Not for everyone.
But the smartphone App is amazing. It supply you with a touch pad experience which can be perfect for navigating the 5600's internet suite. If you need to input text, the app pulls your smart phone's keyboard, which can be much faster to utilize compared to TV's built in keyboard. Best yet, on my own android, I could speak the text plus it occurs for the LG - very cool!
Internet Suite:
Since I already own a Roku, I wasn't buying a TV with apps. But I'm very happy to state that LG's implementation of Amazon video store can be so good, I am capable of move my Roku onto another TV. The visitor with the smartphone control app is actually decent for navigating news sites. It does have Adobe flash, but an older version that numerous video sites do not support. I wonder if they'll update that.
You can connect with the web via wire or a supplied USB wireless device (supports G & N protocols). Is very rewarding.
Video Games:
There can be a video mode for games that shuts of all tv enhancements to attenuate game lag. Works great - I have not noticed any lag.
Summary:
The 5600 is overall an incredible, well integrated package. It might be adjusted to make a very brilliant looking picture that looks great in the bright and dim lit rooms. The internet app suite is surprisingly useful, and features just like the remote device wand and the smartphone remote device apps reflect great product design. Strongly recommended.

The picture exceeds my expectations. Blue ray DVDs are SPECTACULAR and 'regular" DVDs look wonderful. I did some homework in selecting a 3D player and found themselves selecting the Panasonic ( 3D) 210. Works well using this type of TV.
I went for 3D figuring that simply much like the "regular" DVDS, that this price (now high) would eventually drop and more titles would become available. To me it was a 'futures" play figuring folks don't buy TVs every several years ( not me anyway) so might get features that'll be worth more over the years...'nice to have now" and also a "must have " in a very number of years
The TV came with a printed operator manual which just covers basic principles. If you need to enter into the incredible capabilities of this TV you'll want to load the "complete" manual included over a disk while using TV. It gets to the 'nitty gritty' of fine tuning picture adjustments with the information they call "Expert one" and 'Expert two" menus to alter and store picture values , ie backlight, brightness, contrast, individual color controls, etc.
The factory presets ( "intelligent', "Vivid' "standard'" " Cinema" "game" , etc) are handy but a real pro 'calibration requires loading custom parameters inside Expert 1 and a pair of setups.
If you know anything about conventional CRT tVs you know that contrast and brightness adjustments are essential that you picture quality. Unfortunately most of the people don't get that if you have a TV with one of these two adjustments "cranked up high" to present an extremely bright picture that you simply used to do this at the cost of shortening the life from the CRT.
I believe the same is true using the "backlight" , Brightness" and Contrast with this LED edge lit , lcd pixel TV.
So I prefer to are powered by the "expert menu selection in which I can "turn down" the lighting output. It takes a little adjusting to because the picture is less bright ( better the "cinema" selection mode offered in the Tv up).
While the picture is not as bright, the flesh tones and general color reproduction is more effective than the 'standard settings'
This TV is SPECTACULAR in a very brightly lit room or window daylight. This is its element. Really the only complaint that some folks have is because its a good edge light LED design, in a very dark room you receive some 'brighter areas" throughout the edges in the event the picture submissions are a dark scene. To me its an "I don't care".
As to display size...Wow I pondered over this big time ( several trips to a big supply yard that compares 47" vs 55".
Used to some reading and learned that for most of us on the big screen purchase is because they regret that they didn't get "bigger". The LG 47" 5600 is a lovely TV but also in the final, I selected the 55" 5600.... Boy am I glad Used to do !! but here's your call.
To sunmarize...I couldn't be happier with this TV. If you opt for one, I'll bet there is an same experience.

I received my free AVATAR 3D blu ray disk ( with acquiring Panasonic 3d model 210 player). It absolutely was the very first 3D dvd I've viewed.. Standard blu ray DVD look fantastic in "3D simulated" mode . However , this "real 3d DVD absolutely is amazing. INCREDIBLE !!! I have not seen anything as realistic. I didn't buy my LG TV for the 3D capability however having seen what this unique TV can perform, I'm glad I spent other bucks for your feature.

The manual to the TV, with a lot to become desired. It really isn't hard to understad, but it surely doesn't break up exactly what the settings are for and their business. It may be due that the gap i set through the TV could be the recommended distance for the size that the TV is, but the picture is see-through along with the 3D movies are merely a comparable as coming to the theatre and watching the 3D there. The non 3D looks great as well, oahu is the same or even better picture as the old TV which i had. I was really reluctant to do away with that TV because I had been really very pleased with the image quality that it had and didn't see any other TV with the quality which i got from this. I do view a lots of different TV's too because i work for a cable company and my job is installing TV for lots of people. Part of putting in the skills for them is linking our HD cable with their TV i is able to see and compare display quality due to this. That is part of methods i picked out that TV and this TV hasn't allow me to down either. If you are searching for a fantastic 3D TV that's easy to set up, will give you lots of options and may give you the best picture for your money.....This is it!|

I read a great deal of reviews and chosen this one. I searched the right television more than Two months before choosing to buy this. Once i purchased on Amazon, the top box stores had it for 400 dollars more. So it was a no-brainer to order here. I really like it is so thin and lightweight. Well packed and easy to setup.
I received it in good condition. It took around an hour to have it mounted and connected. Then all I possibly could say is "WOW"!!!
I love the picture about this TV. Right out from the box with factory settings, it had been amazing. Naturally I had created to generate adjustments for our preference, but LG did an admirable job using this unit. It's set with tons of options and extras. The Smart TV apps are awesome although Pandora is missing. But that is not really a huge problem in my opinion becasue it is entirely on the Blu Ray. I examined the 3D and yes it was amazing about this set. I still won't watch a lot of 3D however it is nice it's there if we want to put it to use. The 2D to 3D conversion is average. I wouldn't say that its awesome, but it's so good. It is not sufficiently good to make me desire to watch everything in 3D. The sound built into the TV is average. Not terrible, but kind of tinny sounding. The speakers are pointed all the way down so the sound arrives with the bottom with the screen.
I paired up this TV having a Sony soundbar with sub. (Sony HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System). I'm really happy with the outcome. The TV features a "Home Theater" setting for the sound. This permits me for connecting every one of my HDMI components with the soundbar, run an HDMI to the HDMI around the TV with ARC and control your entire system derived from one of remote. When i programmed my Dish remote to regulate it. My Dish remote controls it, sound, and DVR.

When I got this TV I was not interested in any respect inside 3D capabilities, but curiosity got the best of me so we acquired The Lion King in 3D and I thought 3D on this TV was a lot better than what you'll receive in movie theatres. I will be definetly planning to pick up even more 3D Blu-ray movies. The 2D to 3D function is ok and not just like designed for 3D programming.
I haven't explored much of the Smart TV functions yet so cannot discuss them.

I've switched off the electricity saving feature because I don't care simply how much power it uses its so minuscule it does not mater. I connected it to my Wifi that worked OK it found new soft wear and downloaded it that was easy. I was thinking I would need to put some information on a thumb drive then handle the installation and among the USB ports, not so.
I'm certain that you will have better TV's showing up in the market soon there always will probably be. But this TV lasts us several years I'm sure. One sign until this TV is quality is the weight of it. We have some 40" Sony's in your store and they're very transportable I'd personally state cheep Samsclub TV's however they help that which you need them for.
I love not having battery powered glasses for 3D that just may seem like a joke. All we all do is tune our DirecTV HDDVR to channel 104,103,106 and set for the glasses and there we go! 3D!! I've not connected the blu ray player yet but I guess you are able to rent 3D movies?

Very cheap passive glasses included. Due to shape and their capacity to let light in from behind the viewer may lead to reflections about the interior in the glasses. I've multiple pairs of designer RealD passive glasses which are very well definitely worth the money in order to avoid reflection issues and then for comfort.
Overall, very happy with purchase (just need to disable the nanny warning!)

I prefer that the wireless adapter is roofed. I don't really understand the point from the motion controller, there is however an android app that permits you to control everything on your own phone.
The television apps are okay. There aren't always exciting newly discovered apps, but there are many to make use of most paid streaming video services. Other than these I would not expect the app market on here to grow a lot, however it is fine. That being said, the YouTube app can be handy, and there's also one for crunchyroll.
The only thing I don't like is I think some of the menus may be organised better. Most almost daily it does not bother me, and I really am glad that this is the television I got myself

The picture is absolutely clear, almost too clear, so for a few varieties of TV I like to soften the settings. The colors are deep i haven't noticed many difficulties with the backlighting being inconsistent. It is often a personal thing, however i still choose to picture with a DLP, but we couldn't use that in our well-lit living area upstairs.
3D is incredibly neat, kids like it. It's obviously much less good as with the theatre on account of display size, however it is fun to view stuff in 3D.
Great TV!
Great value for any TV
They both were non issues for me. This TV is around 50lbs or less, and mounted to my wall, therefore the light is minimal.
The 3D is passive containing positives and negatives:
pros: it might up-convert none 3D broadcasting to 3D, including Games! and the 3D glasses are super cheap
Cons: The 3D effect isn't as good as active 3D.
The only other negative about the TV, that is super minor, may be the TV wants a USB stick (included) to access the wifi for netflix, apps, etc, understanding that USB stick features a blue LED into it, kind of a none issue too if you use google TV or a PS3 for apps, streaming, netflix, and music.
All around great TV, bought that one after purchasing the LG 42" within the same model since I loved it much! This thing is usually super thing, a little more than an inch thick, that's great should you be wall mounting because it is light, and also the profile is minimal because it can sit right on the wall.
History:
My past TVs were 52" Samsung LCD, and 55" Vizo LED TV, this is a lot superior to both.

Excellent TV
Not having knowledge about HDTV, I spent time and effort researching different manufacturers, kinds of sets, and models before finally settling on that one.
The picture is excellent! This TV was super easy to create, HDMI cables transform it into a breeze. The 3D picture is very good, especially for kids. There are several standard settings many different lighting conditions, and you'll change the picture yourself.
This LG TV features a very wide viewing angle, and we've had no problems viewing the screen from the floor, etc. Kudos to LG. The sound is okay as is also, however with a TV such as this, you should Wish to use it to your nice sound system. Can't tell regardless of whether you can order movies from the internet because I've not tried, yet it's definitely possible.
I will recommend this TV to anyone, particularly if I could have it to last nearly last 30 years, much like the last one I purchased.
Great 3D TV, Especially as of this price!
Even in 2D it is a great TV. Love the net options. It had been easy to setup and easy to move. The audio is better than the Samsung I replaced. It won't include AUDIO OUT though if you decide to want to use your surround sound for everything, pick up an electronic digital optical cable ($5 on Amazon).
I replaced a 52" Samsung that chose the ex. I'm suggesting I don't notice a difference within the size. If anything I love the 47" better given it doesn't dominate the bedroom.
I'm satisfied with this purchase!
Very good TV, excellent price-value vs others
Will briefly describe a number of the highlights of my experience:
- I noticed the lamp where TV is arriving it's less quality than Samsung, so it provides a first impression it is less quality TV (yet it's not)
- It's really a a bit more heavier than the Samsung D8000 and that means you may considering getting help when mounting and/or lifting
- Very thin display, looks pleasant and practical when mounting in wall. The leading look with the TV is incredibly standard, nothing special in regards to the frame or design except the screen that's matte avoiding distracting reflection.
- The wii style remote device is basically good especially when navigating thru apps menu (it is really an unique feature vs others TV)
- I had created some issues connecting the TV to my network, if we do tweaking, I became creating it work.
- Apps selection is quite limited, but I found those that I had been interested on (Amazon, Vudu and Netflix). Samsung, for instance, doesn't need Amazon yet. Navigation is easy and apps start in a short time, the truth is Netflix start right in HD quality through the first second laptop computer than PS3 or Roku very often take some couple of seconds to have full streaming speed...
Now the key for me personally, Video and sound quality:
- As is also Television shows a very good image however needs calibration to get at the top video reproduction.
- Excellent color accuracy
- For calibration, Color Management is the better I've come across...its give you full charge of all the grey scale spectrum along with each primary and secondary color adjustment... so if you might like to do a deep calibration on this TV, can be simply done in a shorter time as opposed to runners.
- Once i calibrate the television (leaving a lot of the TV video features off but local dimming on) along with looked very natural and balance in most video sources (DirecTV, PS3, etc).
- Image looks a bit bit soft (can rival the Samsung D8000)yet it's not only a serious problem.
- Black levels are perfect, very good screen uniformity considering it is a LED display, however, We have seen in BD play there is just a little white wave when only white with black background were present, but quickly went away and didn't bother me.
- This TV is 120hz, the speed of video is fine for some although sometimes you are able to notice the lag of video speed when cope with fast pace images... (just like other most costly displays)
- The sounds on this TV may perhaps be slightly inferior towards the average TVs, though it appears to be something linked with it firmware, after I updated the program, the sound came ok however not at par to the best TVs.
- 3D playback is fine, not great but I am not a large fan of watching 3d movies in the home, the main benefit of such a passive technology is glasses are only plastic without batteries. I really do agree with a lot of the reviews that resolution in passive 3D is gloomier than active 3d TVs.
Summary: if you want a nice size 55" without 2K+ with excellent color accuracy while take pleasure in the thin and luminance of an LED display, this can be a TV for you personally... unless you care about luminance and are using the TV in low light room, you may also look at a plasma TV including the Panasonic VT30 which will provide you with the best color accuracy and black levels but you have to deal with other issues that you might find low-priced LED vs Plasma.
Hope this really is helpful! I'm giving 4.5 stars (need to give 5 in amazon because they don't use decimals). I do believe because of this price, this is actually the best TV you should buy with this range. Even than the higher priced model much like the Samsung D8000 (you should check my review of that particular too!), I'd personally opt for the LG.
Best TV ever!
Amazon had this shipped by CEVA. We set up the delivery time for 3 business days later (even though it must have been 2 with amazon prime....) between 1-4pm. At 3:50pm i checked the tracking to determine that which was going on also it showed the delivery date because the overnight. I called customer support at CEVA who stated which it was still on schedule. A few momemts later I received a phone call from the driver who stated he was about 45 minutes away and so on the worst road (in relation to traffic) inside DC area at rush hour. They ended up being 120 minutes late but my tv what food was in top condition and so i shouldn't complain.
It was quite simple to set up. We adjusted each of the settings to own preferences. The 3D is indeed ridiculous I cannot believe We have this within my living room. HBO currently has Despicable Me at will in 3D. I had already seen the movie but may not stop watching it because of how cool the 3D looked. I felt as being a kid. I do advise on watching 3D at nighttime as it enhances the effects. The passive shutter is apparently much easier about the eyes and head. I really don't understand why anyone would prefer active. I have not found anything yet that the 2D to 3D conversion has really worked for however i still try almost every new show or movie. The 2D HD is perfect. I couldn't request a better picture. This tv appears to be it is double as that which you paid. I can not wait to watch football tonight!
We have played around with all the Smart TV. Its pretty cool too. Very user friendly. Most You tube HD looks great (some were sub par) We learned that Amazon has rentals cheaper than ON demand however, not as much 3D selections. Netflix merely has a few streaming 3D movies. Due to this, That's not me in a big hurry to acquire a 3D blu ray player. Hopefully for Christmas we'll buy one and start our 3D movie collection.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend a better TV. Visit Best Buy and check out out. You will not be disappointed. (I truly don't believe individuals that gave it 2 stars had the settings setup correctly. The tv screen is impossible to hate!)
Impressed with TV and Amazon
After struggling to obtain 5.1 (BluRay/Cable via HDMI to TV, Optical to Receiver) to my receiver I called LG, they walked me through up to they can. Then I referred to as Blu Ray manufacturer, they said its not their problem. Called LG back, get someone quite friendly anf the husband scheduled a property visit from a genuine LG tech. I described the situation, he explained its probably an issue with the principle board (oy!). So I casually ask him, are these claims halo for the left side with the set normal? It doesn't exist around the right side. He says no, by no means, there is certainly underlying damage here. Which is exactly what I suspected all along but I was looking to get utilized to it. Imagine every one of the "edge bleed" other reviewers complain about and multiply by 100. I told him think before you buy using the repair, I'll just take it back. And so i called Amazon and arranged going back, bought a NEW set, same model.
Aside from your damage as well as the edge bleeding I am very happy with this TV. This is my first HDTV and first TV of this size, first 3D anything too. Everything continues to be great. Discovering the "soap opera" effect was intriquing, notable and I assumed out the best way to rid myself of it. Honestly motion blur inside the picture is common and it is comfortable to the eye. Eliminating it will actually make the picture appear to be a low priced soap opera. I surely could make Star Trek on BluRay look cheap for that reason effect.
I just like a lot of the functions although some people might could be difficult to find. I'm not a huge fan of how LG has setup the menu and settings nonetheless its some of those issues you get accustomed to.

The TV: Obviously it's very slim, and it feels somewhat wobbley on the stand however i think that's being expected. But anyways, it looks amazing. I plugged in the power cable and connected my TW Cable box via HDMI. In a few moments I became watching HD programming! I upgraded coming from a 27-inch Sony behemoth so obviously any TV would definitely look amazing in comparison. But this TV looks spectacular... especially while i calibrated it while using the CNET specs.
I love the apps, especially mlb.tv, which is why I already had a subscription. I quickly visited the mlb.tv website (upon my TV's request) and could activate my account and watch any baseball game in HD. Next Cleaning it once a out Netflix and was amazed how easy it turned out to access all their streaming content (either by search or their recommended selections).
Next I tried out your "magic motion" remote, that we dub the "wii remote". It works fine... significantly less responsive because Wii remotes nevertheless, you can come up high on it pretty easily.
Finally, we used some 3D content via our TW Cable "on demand" content. The passive glasses took about 2 minutes for my eyes to sit in but after that point, no headaches. Wonderful.
Great TV, great value. I paid somewhat over $1,000 (with CA sales tax) and also have since seen it on Amazon for cheaper.... grab this up, you may be very happy.|
3D TV
First set received a mechanical refect about the stand and as an alternative to wanting to repair same, Amazon quickly and promptly replaced the original TV (within 7 days for being notified).
I have absolute praise to the service I received from Amazon.

What a fantastic 3D television!
So now you're wondering how is the 2D picture...phenomenal! The colors pop right off the screen like only an LED can deliver. And standard def dvds look great as well.
There really are a large number of picture setup options so everyone will probably be pleased, and yes it even comes with an auto picture mode (I believe quite simply "Intelligent sensor") that adjusts the picture quality to match the space environment. Pretty cool. The SmartTV screen is basically cool too. It offers a lots of apps and site content which is a nice plus. There is also a wifi dongle that you just connect the back and that means you don't even notice it from your front.
Oh , nor allow me to neglect the magic remote. This set actually comes with 2 remotes...an ordinary one and a clever new invention referred to as a magic remote, what sort of works as being a Wii remote. You can pretty much discard the normal one as the magic remote is more useful. It makes navigating around the menus much easier and quicker. Very clever addition indeed.
I do notice some minor "flash lighting" at the base corner with the screen, yet it's not really too noticeable when viewing content. I can't really reply to audio since i have use my receiver.
All in all of the I'm thoroughly impressed with this particular unit and cannot say enough good stuff about this. Go LG!

The 2D to 3D works great. Watch any saved HD movies as if you are watching it the very first time. Overall if you have crosstalk or even the picture looks bad, it is not the television it will be the source.
Nicest TV I've ever gotten, many years superior to the $4500 LCD RP bought in 05. (My wife even loves this TV and kept wondering once the TV was coming).
