The Best LG Infinia 47LW5600 47-Inch Cinema 3D 1080p 120 Hz LED-LCD HDTV with Smart TV and Four Pairs of 3D Glasses Review
Don't permit the price fool you.
Initially, I planned on you get one in the new Sharp 60" Quattron models, and headed with a nearby big box store to look into the selection. Picture was most critical to me, where I had been willing to pay a plasma whether or not this blew me away, however i was definitely siding towards LCD or LED. I wasn't too shocked to get that although plasmas were nice, they weren't "that" nice, and settled in to the Sharp.
On my solution, I thought I'd check a couple of the 3D displays, only to be 100% i wasn't purchasing I'd regret the moment 3D content became more widespread. I viewed several Panasonic models with active shutter glasses, and found that this 3D looked acceptable, though the glasses weren't comfortable on my own head in order to my eyes. A DirecTV rep almost insisted that I look at a high-end Samsung model connected to a DirecTV receiver, and i also immediately noticed that obtaining the thing to show 3D apparently required messing with all the DirecTV remote, the Samsung remote, and continually re-syncing the active glasses. "No, thanks." I thought.
Then I noticed an unloved LG display, using a bucket (yes, an authentic bucket) of scratched passive glasses. No way was this likely to look nice, however it wasn't like I didn't use a couple of minutes to spare.
I was absolutely impressed. Undoubtedly, the top 3D experience I have come across. Standing about six feet from the screen, there were a scene from an IMAX documentary in which a fish seriously appeared as if it came out about halfway between where I had been standing, and the place that the TV was. I could see parasitic fish about the nose of the fish, going around. It turned out incredible, clear, and I knew it needed to be pretty expensive. Much to my surprise, it absolutely was inside same league because the Panasonic models. I needed to have it.
Doing more research online, I saw that Amazon's price was even better (better, the truth is, than the usual national warehouse club sells the non-3D version of this TV for). I ordered on the Monday, and scheduled my (free) shipping for Thursday afternoon. The delivery people came 15 minutes in the first place of my four-hour delivery window, with no hassle whatsoever.
Out from the box, the picture quality on this TV is fairly awesome. Superior to I remembered it being in the store, definitely. But, I did recognize that motion seemed really... weird. I wasn't certain that it had been my satellite receiver, or the TV, but things just didn't appear to move naturally. After working a while adjusting the dejudder and deblur settings, I used to be able to make the motion normal. Then again, I was thinking, I may also calibrate everything. By using a combination of the calibration feature around the Life Blu-Ray and recommended settings on various forums, I used to be able to achieve a completely stunning picture. Seriously, this thing appears to be it cost hundreds upon hundreds more when it's calibrated.
1080i / 1080p content looked absolutely brilliant. SDTV, on the other hand, isn't best I have come across. It's certainly acceptable, and arguably for the better side of what's commonly entirely on LCD / LED models, but I'd probably you will want different things if most of your viewing is going to be sub-DVD quality content.
Then arrived to get rid of your 3D. I snagged a duplicate of Tron: Legacy (Four-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy) and spent most of the movie sitting using a dumb smile on my face. The picture quality and depth were outstanding. Don't fall for the "active / passive" hype. Watching 3D pleased with the LG's passive glasses is definite to please anybody who can see. On and on time for my memory with the Samsung set, once the LG detects 3D, a box pops up that informs you to put your glasses on. That's it. No messing around endlessly with modes to get it working.
I then chose to play with the 2D-to-3D function on some HD channels and standard Blu-Ray discs, and was really pretty surprised. Generally, the tv screen appears to process the style as you'd anticipate to see 3D. It is not something I'd want to do continuously, however i must say, watching Moulin Rouge! [Blu-ray] with 2D-to-3D was really pretty awesome.
The built-in applications were a mixed bag. Obtaining the TV on my own WPA2 wireless network was pretty simple, as well as the Wii-inspired remote worked superior to I had created expected. The Netflix and Amazon At will apps were both very solid -- arguably better than what you'd find on a Roku, and miles ahead of the ones internal to my Sony Blu-Ray player. The other apps were less than impressive. Bringing up the next thunderstorm app is a bit more time consuming than just tuning for the Weather Channel, for instance. The included internet browser is ok for "Hey, look what my TV can do" showing, but you could be not gonna need to fire it up to look at IMDB in the center of a show.
All things considered, this is probably the most effective value around. While I lost 5" of screen real estate property over some tips i planned on buying originally, the gap in picture quality alone was a decent tradeoff. Getting 3D was gravy, to put it mildly. Unless it sets the house burning, I'd be challenged if we have to recommend everything else in just a couple hundred dollars.
UPDATE - ISSUES FIXED: Take into account the 47" model instead

I just learned a few things.
First of most, I found out that bigger may not be better.
We had purchased the 47" version with this TV ([...]) and were absolutely impressed by the image quality... it really is PRISTINE! (Easily a 5-star+ set.) In fact, we were so happy with that unit that we thought organic beef want only a slightly larger TV instead. So, we ordered the 55" model and planned on returning the 47" one. Well, amazingly, we're sending back the 55" TV. The picture is noticeably less pristine (grainy/pixelated/dull - even about the highest resolution blu-ray content... and many more surprisingly, the 3D was causing us to be sick. (So strange, since we totally LOVED the 3D for the 47" model.) Too bad... because we were really looking forward to the more expensive size... but we'd much rather have quality over quantity.
Interestingly, it was my wife (who claims to not notice the "soap opera effect" in the new LCDs) who was simply most disturbed from the quality loss. It was glaringly obvious to her (because it would have been to me... though I did not need to be honest, since I really wanted the bigger model). If my partner notices the gap, count on me... it's there. I later did a side-by-side comparison between the 55LW5600 along with the 47LW5600 which confirmed our suspicions.
Here's a bit more detail:
IMAGE QUALITY:
On this 55" model, image quality of the highest resolution blu-ray discs was noticably less sharp, more pixelated/grainy, and overall just more dull. I played extensively with the settings but tend to not overcome these problems.
Alternatively, images around the 47" model and crisp and GORGEOUS. My hunch could be that the resolution on units is the identical, but it is spread over a greater screen area about the larger unit, inducing the capability to quicker see image flaws. I never have found specs to make sure that this, though. We sit about 10-12 feet from the TV, and that we did notice an important improvement inside our perception with the image quality when moving back about 5 feet. But, the arrangement individuals room won't let us sit this distance from your TV... hence the 47" may be the obvious option for us.
I would state that you shouldn't think about the 55" version if you plan on sitting closer than 12 feet for the TV. Further out than that, maybe you have a greater experience.
3D EFFECT:
I also learned that 3D can (under specific situations) make us sick. Strange, because we've always enjoyed 3D inside the theater... and we absolutely LOVED 3D around the 47" version of this TV. But, for this 55" model, there was some strange fluttering effects, especially in fast-motion video. We also noticed some sort of strange boxy/pixelated effect during quick scene changes, or when going from bright to dark (and the opposite way round) scenes.
None of such 3D issues occurred with all the 47" version. In reality, not simply was the style impeccable, however the 3D looked absolutely gorgeous (and was fully HD quality without any noticeable resolution loss).
So, should you be debating (like we did) about whether or not to go with LG's 47" version (47LW5600), as well as to go a bit larger with all the 55" model... I'd suggest staying with the 47" TV unless you is going to be sitting a relatively significant distance outside the set.
So, what else did I learn? It turns out my wife's a videophile! Well isn't?!? :-)

We have discovered approaches to make adjustments who have COMPLETELY ELIMINATED the issues we spoke of earlier!! So we've changed our star rating from 2 to 5. (Yeah, it's a whole lot of of the improvement!) :-)
2D IMAGE FIX: I would like to let everyone are aware that I became capable to improve the 2D video quality with this 55" model SIGNIFICANTLY utilizing the settings given on hometheater.com [hometheater+dot+com]. (Just search for "LG 55LW5600 3D LCD HDTV".) Blu-rays now look fantastic... and a lot a lot better than the default settings.
3D IMAGE FIX: Additionally, we found a setting on the TV that allows you to adjust the 3D image so who's positions the picture further into the screen (essentially virtually giving us the extra 3 feet back we felt we needed to eliminate eye-strain and nausea). To access, click on the fast menu button *while 3D content is onscreen*. Then, find the top replacement for adjust the 3D settings. After that, the lower option allows you to send the 3D image further back (on the left) or perhaps you can also grow it further forward going the opposite direction. We found the setting of "-5" (about 50 % of strategy to the left) to be a good compromise, improving the 3D image for us immensely (in order that we don't felt nauseous when viewing) but still kept us from seeing ghosting. (Going all the way up to the left introduced some faint ghosting and didn't are most often necessary since adjusting it half-way appeared to alleviate the sickness we felt if you watch 3D content.)
So, with this, and the video settings we bought at hometheater+dot+com (Amazon keeps removing my link, hopefully my pseudo-URL is useful for now), now we have fallen fond of the 55" model.
Our FINAL VERDICT, then, is the 47" model is much better out-of-the-box. Hook it up and WOW! However, as you move the 55" model needs a a bit more work, it might eventually look similar in results since the 47" set. It is actually STUNNING! So, we have been keeping the 55" set in fact, and they are extremely satisfied with it. It took a little extra work, however it was definitely worth it.
Hopefully our trial-and-error helps someone on the market. :-) Enjoy!
A Great Value
Background - This television is installed on the provided stand and put on surface of a media chest. The tv sits above the seated viewers. Replaces a 5 year old 40" Sony Bravida LCD panel. Attached to a HD TiVo and a Sony Blu Ray.
Set-Up - Actually quite easy. The manual is adequate, although not excellent. The "Pro" video set-up is really a nice feature and contains the picture looking its best quickly. The HDMI cables come out of the back of the tv screen in a right angle on the left side rear. Placement isn't optimal since HDMI cables often be stiff and sharp bends aren't recommended. There is enough room to make the gentle bend and align the cables, but tie wraps can be a must for more than one cable.
Stand - Basic. Swivels to left, but a tilt feature should have been included. See comments about 3D for explanation. A cable management slot for the stand would also provide been nice to clean-up the cables this sort of not wall mounting.
Picture - Sharp and clear. No motion artifacts. More advanced than the Sony it replaces, but this became expected as a result of technology improvements because the purchase of the Sony.
Sound - Decent for ultra-thin panel televisions. If you are looking for audio quality, I propose an outside amplifier and speakers. For normal viewing, the sound is acceptable and voices are evident.
3D Blu ray - Much like my expensive active 3D television without the flicker and associated issues. Even though display quality just isn't as high, I challenge most viewers to inform the main difference. Mentionened above previously in other reviews, there's some ghosting when the television tilt will not point the telly straight on the viewer (A tilting stand will be a nice feature for LG to provide, but alas, it only swivels!). Right and left with the television, there isn't any degradation in the 3D experience.
2D to 3D - This television does an excellent job of converting 2D into 3D. It seems to excel when the film has depth of field and also the less action, though the overall experience is very good. Depending on my prior knowledge about my Active 3D television, I was expecting less and found this to be a compelling 3D experience.
Internet TV - Connected to Amazon.com easily and quickly. Netflix have also been excellent. Some buffering issues left me wishing that this television stored really he content locally because video streamed. Web Browsing was below adequate and I failed to still find it a good experience, with all the television not at all times giving an answer to the commands of the remote. Apps are limited and yes it taught me to be wonder why someone will not develop an Android based television or possibly a iOS based television in order that there may be more Aps to access.
Remote - The conventional remote is decent and well organized, but if you don't own LG components, you'll need to have multiple remotes. A learning remote is a nice feature. Key back-light is dimmer than I would like.
Magic Wand Remote - Think Wii controller to get a television. Comparable to other folks, I'd challenge with the response of the remote and discovered it worked best when I was sitting straight in front of the television. I felt like the program can use further optimization i aren't seeing this currently as product differentiation and that i wouldn't normally buy this television because of this capability alone.
Recommendation - I would suggest this television and i'm delighted by the purchase.
Excellent passive 3-D set.
Is becoming good as my active 3-D set? Nearly, because active has better display quality, however the passive set arrives ahead even within the plasma as much as not enough ghosting/crosstalk goes. I do believe most casual 3-D viewers would be quite pleased. 2-D to 3-D conversion is probably the best I've come across also, though I'd personally rarely use this feature.
I wouldn't call active obsolete (after all, 3-D content creates either sort of set, equally it is possible to choose between LCD, plasma or DLP, you'll be able to choose passive or active) in case they are able to obtain the resolution to be better (full 1080p in eyes) I might expect the marketplace to get in the passive direction.
2-D picture is excellent, and the various apps and internet features are very executed.

I have not been through each of the features but it is obvious in my opinion that will be the latest in tv technology with a reasonable price. also the glasses dont feel weird or cause me to feel feel sick. at 15-35 bucks for extras it is worth the expense of the television. there's a better version but not available yet and measures 3500 bucks(last I checked I can be wrong).
With 3D Hd content ended up being attend half resolution however i have not noticed a drop in clarity. picture looks high-definition continuously. If you decide to notice a picture not as sharp your probably looking way too hard for flaws.
I researched for months before I made a decision to Buy a 3D tv. I ran across LG to be leading the way in new technology. Samsung isn't far behind . both call the other person names but make good products there levels of competition are dropping prices for all of us. thanks Columbia. sure next season they may are cheaper and also a better model arrive out,but keep holing out and also you never enjoy 3D In your own home.
Over all of this Tv is awesome. Recommend the safety plan (it can be new tech. and might have bugs) and you will not regret it. +BONUS no sales tax online.

First up the 3D
It's awesome! Exactly like in the movies. It leaps out at you. I got myself the Canyon DVD along with the water bubbles just float before you and water splashing made me blink! We also bought Step-up 3D and it only agreed to be like seeing it at the movies. The picture is very bright and appears beautiful. If you are concerned that you will never see "full 1080P" due to technology do not be. I watched that same Canyon DVD waiting for you using the active shutter glasses and saw zero difference in quality.
I played a bit of Cod Black Ops on my PS3 to find out what are the gaming side looked like and it usually only use the story mode, but woah 3D gaming is wicked. It's like playing videos via a view master.
The 2D picture
Is excellent. We'd a 50" Sony LCD 1080i this also picture is way superior. There exists a certain realism that comes through. We noticed it first at our local Greatest coupe store. Some TVs looked just as if this content was taken like from live TV so we were thrilled to check this out TV also producing this sort of picture.
As to the 2D to 3D, Cleaning it once a it on the show being shown in HD and saw no difference. I'll experiment more with it seeing that others having success using this feature.
It has a bunch of other goodies like Netflix, YouTube etc. The USB internet "card" (like a thumb drive device) plugs inside the back as well as the TV recognizes it. Coming to the Network create I easily linked to my home's WiFi and had my Netflix account up very fast. You can embark on Youtube, however i saw no way to log in to my account if you decide to have subscriptions or your videos this isn't your very best self strategy to check those out. The browser works fine, but doesn't need Flash and I'm uncertain if it is or will likely be supported. It is sold with two remotes, the smaller works much like the Wii controller so you use a mouse-like interface, pretty cool. There are more apps and games, but I have not tinkered with those yet.
Negatives so far
One thing that was disappointing if you ask me is the fact that there is no RCA (Red/White) audio outs in the TV. Just an optical audio out. My surround sound system doesn't have an optical in therefore i can't utilize it while using TV.
Also the remote doesn't need separate source buttons to quickly jump from input to a different (Cable to DVD as an example). You have to press the one "Input" button that can you to definitely a screen that permits you to choose. One nice touch however is it appears to sense whenever you turn something on. For instance, if Im watching Cable TV then I turn the DVD/Blueray player on the TV "sees" this and switches on the new source (DVD player) automatically.
These are initially my (and lengthy) impressions up to now. In a nutshell, I'm really impressed with all the quality picture on this TV as well as the technology it uses. I'm very relieved that we don't have to use (and get) heavy, battery powered and expensive glasses to determine amazing hi def 3D right in my lounge!

Amazing TV!
I visited a particular major box store to check this set to many other active 3D sets, and enjoyed LG's passive 3D without doubt. Not just include the glasses more at ease and far cheaper, however the 3D about this set just seemed to cash more 'pop' for it. The active sets were ok, nevertheless the glasses I could were uncomfortable, as well as on surface of everything, active 3D just didn't seem to have the identical depth into it. Yes, the 3D is excellent and I just spent a good long paragraph praising it, though the other functions and overall picture also deserve similar praise. Brightness, contrast, black levels, and simply about anything else are superb. The LED's allow the TV to create quality blacks without graying, no flashlight effect, and a standard good, crisp, clean picture. The picture wizard does a great job of enabling you to adjust the settings to have an optimal viewing experience for your room. The smart TV features are fantastic, but sometimes certainly apply certain improvement (hopefully more apps in the future down the road). I mostly exclusively use it to Netflix, however you can YouTube, check the weather, along with other the things i haven't explored. The television includes an Ethernet port for internet, or a wireless dongle in the event you prefer fewer wires poking to the back of your respective TV.
Overall, I recommend this TV to anyone, hands down. In case you have any doubts about it I would suggest the thing is that this TV directly and compare it to others before choosing and I think you will be as impressed much like me.

The image is noticeably less pristine (grainy/pixelated/dull - even around the highest resolution blu-ray content... and much more surprisingly, the 3D was causing us to be sick. (So strange, since we totally LOVE the 3D for the 47" model.) Too bad... because we had arrived really enthusiastic about the greater size... but we'd much rather have quality over quantity.

Otherwise, this 47" model could be the NEW STANDARD by which TVs (anywhere near this price range) will be judged moving forward. Enjoy!

I could increase the 2D video company's 55" model significantly utilizing the settings given on hometheater.com ([...]). Blu-rays now look good... perhaps still not really good because the 47" version, but As good as the default settings. So much improved, actually, that when we just wanted it for 2D viewing, I would no more hesitate to hold the 55" version.
Alas, the 3D image quality has improved about the 55" set using the new settings, you still really need to be considered a the least 13-15 feet from the set and also hardwearing . eyes from wigging out when viewing objects which are nearest you in 3D space. Objects built into the screen fare the best, and border on stunning... the closer the object on the viewer, the much more likely eye-strain/sickness will result.
Again, none of these issues were knowledgeable about this 47" set. This has produced the decision on which set to help keep a lot more difficult. For the present time, 3D is a crucial enough feature for all of us to remain leaning toward keeping this 47" set. Decisions, decisions... :-)

comfortabe & natural viewing
I went along to my nearby store and cafully watched thses tvs for 25 minutes each.
samsung has detail and sharp but that doesnt mean lg is just not. I do believe samsung has been doing exceptional job on this regard in 2010.
I was mainly looking closely the way the 3d performs as 2d area is already good on todays tvs.
overall, lg gave more comfortable, flicker-free, bright, and finest of all, natural 3d experence.
If i didnt compare directly, Furthermore, i might have liked samsung as samsung didnt feel a great deal of flickering or cross talks if any.
but when seen side by side, the real difference is obvious easily.
lg gave not just natural, comfortable image on the watch's screen, its difficult to put in words, but overall everything feels simply simplified and simply comfortable to view.
Compare to lg, samsung gave rather darker image, too.
also, for fast moving scene samsung offer a little judder looking artifacts just as if the glass shutter couldnt catch up the pace with the scene. Whereas lg simply doesnt have trouble with having passive system.
some people say passive cuts resolusion in halves this is why lines between lines.
you do see these line when you get really near the tv. But when settle-back farther distance you would normally watch, thses little lines disapper. But exactly like you know shutter glass are flickering in front of the eyes, also it makes you uncomfortable, this lines on lg, though might not visible in normal distance, will make you uncomfortable.
so I do believe what one you value more.
To me, lg has overall better image in my eyes, that is, no flicker or crosstalk whatsoever, much bright image, and natural viewing without feeling of any artifacts.
I guess I'm able to summarize such as this.
samsung is like some hi-tech glass is performing fine job facing your eyes to create 3d, and lg simply feel you are not wearing any glasses in any way. when you are immersed in the content, glass simply disappears from a awareness.

Feature rich to get a competitive price!
For $1300 I was able to get a 55" 3d HDTV with only about every one of the great features. The television has been doing use for about 8 weeks now i absolutely love it! Here were my main decision points;
1) Price - Dollar for dollar the opposite name brands could not compare. LG represented the very best overall value PLUS LG supplies a factory direct extended warranty to get a cheaper price than someone else. For five a lot of LG "in home" coverage I paid $179. Sony, Samsung, etc will not offer factory direct warranties.
2) Form of 3D - There is a choice... active shutter 3D or passive 3D (like in the cinema). Looking at reviews and every one of the advantages and CONs I opted to go with passive 3D. Great LED 3D TV
The TV is fantastic. Passive 3D glasses FTW. It really provides you with an excellent feel for the depth of each take into account the image. Viewing angle on the watch's screen is fairly good too. Next, I have to state that I was a little wary about the home delivery service that Amazon uses of larger items such as TV's and appliances. Let me claim that my concerns happen to be offer rest. Much Much better than I Expected
I then purchased this LG 3D TV, since the passive 3D glasses are simple, with no synchronization issues. However I saw reports that said the image was not pretty much as good, but anything is better that having glasses that keep going blurry.
Well, i'm happy to report, this TV contains the BEST 3D picture of most ones. I was expecting to must compromise for lighter, simpler glasses. Absolutely no way! This 3D picture is quite clear and bright. And Full HD too. The reviews I saw used a test disk to prove this set has under HD picture in 3D mode, but those disks are manufactured assuming traditional line-scan technology. Well, LG doesn't use traditional line-scanning to make this passive 3D picture, as well as perhaps the tests don't represent this new method that well. Well, that must definitely be the situation, simply because this picture is (if something) a lot better than the Samsung's 3D output. It handles fast motion greater (less blur), and my eyes do not get as tired.
I am Happy to find I did not must compromise ANYTHING to check out passive 3D technology. LG makes a great TV i would recommend it to anyone. This sounds like I'm being paid for this. No Way. I'm just that surprised that passive glasses is really so good!
Great TV

Wow ! I developed a great choice.
The 3D picture is fantastic. It's very clear and appears so alive. I purchased a 3D Blu Ray player also, so I have no idea of in the event it makes a difference, but we have been so awe struck with the 3D that our kids has demanded which i purchase more 3D movies. I went out and bought another 2 group of glasses for $24 now friends can interact the enjoyment. The 3D experience has changed into a hit.
The 2D to 3D format is actually cool. It isn't quite 3D, but it does add depth. My lady watched Dancing with the Stars in this mode and loved it and i also watched a hockey game plus it was great.
We have HD channels on our cable system which picture can also be amazing. Again, specific and sharp. I would not watch the digital channels anymore unless I must.
Set up was easy. The machine recocnized the Blu Ray and the internet. Our First HD TV
We are glad we did. This set has exceeded our expectations on every level. Well, perhaps that was easy to perform even as had little expectations or must i say, we did not know what to anticipate. First, I'll discuss our experience transporting and setting the TV up.
My thought upon getting my on the job it inside box was who's was a blow up TV. Given a quality input like a Blu-ray DVD or perhaps an HD cable 'cast, the picture will range between beyond expectations to stunning. We watched an HD cable 'cast of something about Star Wars and also the Stiths (#3 or #6 in the The exorcist compilation of movies depending on how one counts) and we could not believe the utter perfection with the picture. This is a great tv especially for watching tv throughout the day in brighter rooms as it has a matte screen finish.
GAMERS! This TV has some lag. May well be noticeable for your requirements since it is lower then some other TVs we've played on. It is rather minor and unless you may be really sensitive to lag or else you are en elite gamer i would consider this TV. It happens to be great. Sometimes i notice it more then other times. My setup is surely an Xbox 360 system linked with HDMI, main game is Halo reach. The main element to presenting low lag is relabeling your xbox 360 console hdmi connection to "PC". hit [input] on the remote, then [green]. Put it back so it's name "PC". Renaming on the input to "PC" is suppose to disable every one of the extra XD processing that runs without anyone's knowledge. Don't forget to hit [AVmode] and choose GAME too. This is Answer to having low lag. The tv screen had terrible lag in game mode sometimes more terrible lag when it was not in game mode. However for some reason if you relabel it to PC it magically disappears.
Sound is just average for the tv but get yourself a sound system if this bugs you.
Interface isn't best and isn't worst i have seen. Magic wand is sorta bull crap. It makes several things much easier to handle plus some things not.
UPDATE (Aug 23, 2011): For anyone which are serious gamers and wish only a small amount lag as it can be. Using a VGA connection from the Xbox to this TV brings down the lag to just about non existent. Warning it does bring down the caliber of the display a lttle bit.
Amazing quality for that price
I found a better price with this set than Amazon was selling it for at the time, i really called in and Amazon opted for price match and still produce free freight however the price matched site charged shipping! I am an Amazon Prime member, and extremely desired to obtain it on Amazon anyways....so I took it.
I got the set 48 hours later, and I am ecstatic which i got this set! The picture quality and local dimming are great, even though you do must change some default settings right out in the box (Real Cinema sucks and makes everything look like a soap opera). Again, I didn't understand this TV for 3D content, but I gave it a shot on a few of the Direct TV 3D channels and yes it looked great! And, surprisingly, it converted 2D->3D very well (eventhough it worked much better for animated stuff). I obtained 8 pairs of glasses using the set, therefore i think I'm set for life from that front. I still have no idea of that I'll utilize the 3D constantly, however it does look good on this set. I read around that individuals complain about the decreased quality of passive 3D, but it surely does look wonderful with this set and i also can't use whatever lines or ghosting at all.

Great quality... 3D, SmartTV!
It is light, thin, bright (LED), crystal-clear HD pictures, good non-HD pictures at the same time, affordable cost (under $1,400 by Nov. 2011), and top price/performance ratio (the best value) for me. But above all, the most pleasant surprise may be the SmartTV, that we actually didn't care much regarding it prior to purchase, but only realized it more the way adds more value and convenience in today's world in places you have almost constant, access immediately towards the zillions of contents on the Internet thru your smartphones, tablets and people iGears. Fantastic 3D HDTV

Check out this if you opt to go along with an Active 3D TV.
The only draw back I had created with this particular TV and it is a well known problem with many LED HDTVs that is certainly the input lag during gaming. When gaming the controllers whether a joystick, mouse, game pads or TrackIR, many of these had what seemed to be a 1/2 second delay when a button is pressed or joystick or mouse transferred to enough time it really happened on screen. I discovered it to create playing games impossible regardless if it setting was set to gaming mode. However I just read in another forum that one strategy to making your way around this difficulty ended up being plug laptop computer in to the VGA connection on the TV as opposed to the HDMI connection. Frys Electronics had this TV at $1199 with 8 pairs of glasses. Started using it with 3 years free financing. Can't beat that.
Brought it home and out of the box it looked great. Looked up some videophile sites and tweaked several settings. Video is great. 4 HDMI inputs. 2D to 3D conversion is fairly cool. Although what that provides you is depth of picture. Don't expect objects to come out of the screen. We don't possess a Blue ray dvd player however i did invite my mom over who I helped purchase a new laptop which just happened to have a Blue ray dvd drive. Watched "How to practice your Dragon" BD disk. Stick to know the difference in video quality over our 720P Panasonic plasma television upstairs. Setup DNLA server to tug content from your laptop. Worked like no bodies business. Had not been difficult to do.
I enjoy it Wizard feature. It walks you thru video settings and makes it easier to tweak settings in your tastes.
Online content and apps tend not to compare to our Roku. Hopefully which will change. Netflix takes a little longer to load, maybe 10 seconds or maybe more. Can't do Netflix 3D from TV Netflix but sometimes if we attach Roku to TV? Hope they alter by investing in firmware/software upgrade.
I know that Passive 3D cuts down on the HD signal however i hated the active glasses. Heavy, didn't fit over my prescription glasses. Batteries, syncing. Pain inside backside. As well as the active glasses cost an arm along with a leg. Passive glasses are cheap. And did I say we have got 8 of these? Along with a $200 rebate on VOD services that they said we're able to use for our Netflix account. We'll see. Needed to submit form to LG. Are fully aware of in About six weeks...
Pro's - Value. Excellent picture. 2D to 3D conversion. 4 HDMI inputs. Wireless N adapter included. Netflix. Lot's of choices to tweak video settings.
Con's - Few people like going streaming options or apps in comparison to Roku. Audio must be appeared to 50% sometimes. Just doesn't seem loud enough personally. Wand controller - Dislike it. It loses it's calibration constantly. Found an app on my son's ipod that permits me to regulate the television. As good as the wand.
We're really impressed with LG. My partner, that's much more of a videophile than We are, really likes this TV. We're looking at getting a Blue ray dvd player player. Either Playstation 3, LG BD690 or OPPO 93. I'll update review once we do.
Oh, and one more thing. Amazon, I cannot develop a review unless I've ordered something recently? Really? I come here to get opinions using their company consumers. Restricting that to recent buyers means you will have less advice plus much more of an reason to check else where...
Update 5/14/11 - Frys had LG LHB336 blu ray home theater kit onsale for $229. We got it. Sounds great. And now we can view netflix in 3D. Going to have to rent or buy a true 3D movie only to find out how good it can.
Update 5/18/11 - Downloaded a 3D video file yesterday. Had to convert it to AVI format. Take a look at video format specs on LG's website. Blu Ray disk player will play certain formats. Won't play those same formats off a USB Harddrive. Which means you can't just copy a DVD formated video file to the tough drive. Needed to convert one of our vacation videos from DVD format to AVI to look at it.
BTW, the 3D video was awesome! The 2D to 3D (while still interesting) is just a cheap trick in comparison with and actual 3D video. Video was clear, vivid and taken from it.

Great TV!!! Ideal for Sports, Movies or Gaming.
A few days ago another person mentioned all of the ghosting if you watch sports understanding that scared us a lot, because it is mostly what I watch. After installing the tv screen and calibrating it I must say that I am extremely pleased with this purchase. I watched Three hours of soccer on friday in HD and it was superb, no ghosting in any way. Then yesterday watched an excellent football game on ESPN HD and yes it looks amazing again, with no ghosting or blur.
I have played BF3 on it also and all sorts of I could say is WOW. The action just looks different with this TV.
I did take TRUMOTION off since I dislike the soap opera effect in movies.
Don't hesitate, this TV rocks !.

A 3D impression review
Con:
1. As is also 3D picture isn't greatest but with just 10-20
minutes of configuration it's (for the deficiency of a greater word) AMAZING. If 10-20
minutes is a lot to a lot of time for you... Oh never mind...
Pros:
1. 3D Movies (using PS3) are wonderful (colors are bright and image is actually
clearer than watching a show in 2D).
2. 3D gaming (PS3) is mesmerizing. I never have tried using my 360 for gaming yet.
3. 2D -> 3D gaming brings new life to video gaming you've already finished and also
makes games you've not played an incredibly great experience.
4. 2D -> 3D movies/tv series (blu-ray) and tv shows (cable) sometimes works great
and sometimes doesn't add much.
5. Customization of 3D depth etc.
The Review:
In some online (professional sites) reviews as being a con they assert that the 3D picture is soft compared to active. IMO and friends of mine this can be soooo far from the truth. I have both Passive and Active Tv's (Active TV is high quality Samsung UN55D8000) and I'm sorry but Passive does not lose ANYTHING with regards to 3D color, image, depth plus it sure isn't "soft".
The whole HD diminishment of quality is often a crock (with one exception up to now. See 3D gaming). Sure, if you are using some hi-tech gear that can detect the gap or sitting 1 foot as you're watching tv (who this anyways) but my eyes and 30 + of my buddies can't notice. Yes. 30 + of my close friends see no difference (it's unlikely that any) and also prefer to wear the Passive glasses.
Movies in 3D: Watch REAL 3D movies like Tangled, Legends from the Guardian, IMAX Hubble alongside with an Active and Passive tv and you will see NO difference aside from the fact that up your eyes don't hurt, no ghosting etc. on Passive (I'm about 6 feet far from my TV).
3D gaming: Killzone 3 - The exception in quality was mafia wars which seemed pixilated when compared to the 2D version. Don't misunderstand me, it absolutely was still really fun to learn and look at but simply much less crisp as other games.
God of War Origins Collection - What great depth it provided. It was like playing a fresh game running down corridors and many types of.
Wipeout - The depth and color was perfect.
Motorstorm - Great depth and things flying out at you.
Super Stardust HD - The shades are vibrant so when you die the explosion made my son and his friend duck and say "Whoooa!!". It was pretty funny.
2D -> 3D gaming: I've played Batman: Arkham Asylum, Infamous 2 and God of War 3. I'm not likely to enter into detail about each one of these however i will say this. ALL of which worked being converted and something interesting happened also. The 3D presented a more crisp color to every in the games. What liberating it turned out playing these games in 3D. It was like I had been playing a whole new game even though I've spent many hours playing them previously. I can't wait to experience in my 360 and play games like Dead Space.
2D -> 3D movies/tv series (bluray): There were a few movies that looked excellent inside the conversion (Green Hornet, Avatar, and the ways to Train Your Dragon). Others (color wise) looked good nevertheless the 3D was less powerful (Battlestar Galactica (new series) and Transformers 1.
2D -> 3D tv (Comcast): I've only done a couple football games (1 NCAA and 1 NFL) and a hockey game and so they were alright. Not the top but the 3D still worked and again the colors were sharper.
3D customization: There a wide range of blogs on the market that show you how you can create the TV. Each the first is different for that sort of room layout (size, brightness, darkness). No matter which one you decide on this doesn't happen take long to completely design your TV look great. You also can adjust the depth in the 3D image which can be really impressive.
I'm no Active hater (I truly do own both) i still love my Active TV but if you will want great TV get a Passive TV for hundreds or even 1000s of dollars cheaper and you will probably not be disappointed.
PS. At 120hz in spite of the quickest motions on screen usually do not blur.|
Great tv - I'll Keep this short and simple
Setup:
Pretty easy. I'd say a fairly easy 9/10... there are many "setups" available just for this tv, however , it wouldn't take the average person (that is a minimum of slightly tech-savvy) lengthy in any respect to have this tv feeling better. Do whatever you want while using sharpness/tint/color/etc....but as others have suggested, just as I, I might turn off trumotion and set local dimming on low (local dimming helps somewhat with black and shadows, although not as much on this tv because it is edge lit). Basically what I did for that brightness/contrast/backlight was watch a show like Mad Men and then there arent TOO many dark scenes, mostly just people, and obtain the light levels to the point where the black looks pretty all-around true black, however, not dark colored, but additionally so much that the lighting (especially in the bottom corners) stops "bleeding" in to the tv. I think my setup is a thing like: backlight - 80 contrast - 85 brightness - 65 or something like that....just tweak it until you like what you see. I will be tweaking it for awhile yet, while using the expert controls to dial in what exactly we need. The inputs selection is definetley great, i can't see a lot of people experiencing difficulity in any way with hooking some misconception to this tv. It's pretty self-explanatory. Even plugging in usb hard disks is very easy to use and takes no brains.
Picture/Performance:
9/10. For the price of this tv, We are absolutely amazed. I can honestly say it has the most effective colour of any tv I have ever viewed, and this was obtained, like I said, by incorporating easy tweaking. The colors absolutely jump out at you. Compared for the Sony Bravia line, there's no single thing I can't like Superior concerning this tv. Compared to the majority of of Samsung's TV's, however, the image on the samsung (in my opinion) is slightly sharper and crisper, but which is the general consensus, however the color and sheer "presence" with this tv is much better. So with regards to comparison shopping, it genuinely only relies on 7 things for most people seriously considering tv's such as this: 3D, Wifi, size, display quality, building, ease of use, and value. The LG takes a minimum of 6 of these things. The only complaints I've would be the fact there's slight light bleed from the bottom corners, but some tweaking it is possible to bring a great black picture with minimal light pollution back into this tv.
- 3D - amazing....I don't have all very much example of this field, but am nonetheless impressed. Must notice yourself. passive is indeed a lot better than active, too.....it's cheaper....easier and much less noticeable to make use of, but still looks amazing. The media sharing is INCREDIBLE. the very first time i visited apply it, it prompted me to setup "plex media server." i would be a bit delay, realizing i would now need to use an unofficial program. After inatallation and using it stay and learning it, i need to say i will be sooooooooooooo delighted by the program. me along with the wife can both run our very own "media servers" from the desktop/laptop and access the whole media folders from my tv WITH pictures, episode synopsises, etc. that is certainly all i am going to really say about it, doesn't take much learning, and is also Really worth buying this tv for for those who have a great deal of media on the computers (like i do)
Build quality 8.5/10
I only say this because the screen is really insanely thin, the bad and the good thing. The front with the screen can be slightly bent or warped just from shipment, which has been seen reviewers say/post pictures of. Mine is hardly noticeable, however, if you had been to look at an amount to most of those tv's I do believe you'd probably get the front face is not always completely straight. this does NOT mean this screen will not be straight, only the bezel around it could become (mostly unnoticeably) slightly warped. I actually very carefully "bent" mine back only a slight tad once i first got it as they are, and it's also now much better. Also, the stand isn't greatest.
Sound - The speakers are stored on a 1 inch think screen....so obviously they arent gonna knock you off of the couch. but honestly, for strictly dialogue-based shows and evening viewing, or when the volume doesn't need to get up, it's perfect. clear voice does actually help a great deal, too. when the wife watches her shows, she never even uses the audio system, theres just no reason to.
The bad:
Most everyone has already said each one of these same things, including the magic wand remote being retarded....and it is....i do not use it. At first I might travel between it as well as the standard remote, but I have since already gotten employed to the typical remote. The magic wand ISN'T completely useless, however...i haven't seen anyone say this, but it is nice to have it for typing things in to the tv (setting some misconception, web browsing, etc.) The stand is an additional thing many people complain about, but it isn't THAT bad....I personally want it, even though it is often a little flimsy for this type of lcd screen. I do not ever notice wobbling, however i can definetley see those with kids caught (especially on wood or tile) owning an issue. I have mine on a glass/metal entertainment concentrate on carpet, this will not be a worry. If it absolutely was, I'd probably just put a thin pad under the stand...problem solved.
The viewing angle isn't the greatest, however i have a very wide family room with 2 couches side by side (about 6-7 people can simultaneously find the screen) also to the far sides (the 2 side people) the viewing angle is merely needs to fade. For 90% of movie watching, though, it's unnoticeable, and again, i've very little to check it to, for all those i know this tv contains the most usable viewing area in their class, though we've heard that samsung's are slightly better with this. I know for certain that bravia's have pretty much the exact same viewing angle, if not SLIGHTLY better than the LG. Too bad bravia's have a crap wifi setup, and subpar picture. and the entire spyware on his or her products thing a short time ago always put me from the company. I dislike gremlins....
I haven't messed with this particular nearly enough to complain about, but with the media sharing (plex) i have noticed the 1080p videos lagging and needing to buffer periodically. There a variety of forums addressing this matter, and i have tried a couple of things it doesn't help Up to now. I just have had this tv for a FEW DAYS, and I am sure I can fix this challenge. Even easily had this matter for years, though, i wouldn't even care. This is really because, for the true 1080 HD video, especially in 3d, it may be ideal to never stream it, because you will surely be losing no less than a bit quality. Any true high def 1080p videos really should be on a hard drive coupled to the tv or over a disc. I will provide an update as to whether or not i've fixed this, and what i did to repair it.
That being said - the 720p and the remaining portion of the media we have streamed to this particular tv LOOKS AMAZING. it isn't as flawless as you were watching a blu ray and even directly away from a hard drive into the tv, nevertheless it certainly doesn't resemble you happen to be watching youtube. for 90% of my content (really only excluding 3d 1080p movies) the streaming plex media player does a terrific job.
9/10 product. with merely a Five star system - i needed to go with 5/5
I would def. buy this again, for similar price or lower. I'm even going to keep my attention out for the 32-40 inch bedroom tv of your like series from LG.

LG's Cinema 3D experience, as clear & life like as it gets! WOW!
I planned to have something to exhibit family and friends when that come over, you already know, something they haven't seen yet. The 2D-3D conversion was nothing to great, but was cool non-the-less, Gave it an excellent looking depth perception. I quickly tried 3D gaming around the PS3 (Cod: Black Ops zombies) i then got the WHOA moment, not WOW, WHOA. At first kinda afflicted me with a filling of being cross-eyed. My eyes adjusted, got better/bigger weapons then it started to deliver that semi-wow moment. Wasn't playing online, but playing in 3D gave it a little (online filling, but not nearly as bad)lag, also got somewhat eye soreness but no headache. All in all, it had been pretty frickin' cool playing in 3D.
Then I tried a Blu-Ray 3D movie (fright Night 3D) as soon as again, it set it up that WOW moment continually. The picture was clear, otherwise seemed clearer then full 1080p picture, as life-like as it gets. Never got the cross-eyed filling whatsoever, it more-less provided the filling the movie was being directed and shot via a window within my home, one continues shot devoid of the directer screaming CUT! (TV is mounted, passing it on that window filling) If you don't have a 3D yet, you need to acquire one, preferably this 3D HDTV. The Cinema 3D experience is a lot cooler/better in your house then your 3D the truth is in the movies.
On another note, the apps are cool, use Netflix on a regular basis using the magic remote. (some people repeat the magic remote does not work for Netflix) The image is absolutely clear too. The browser works, however, not the fastest engine to get a browser. Kinda like browsing over a 3G android phone. Nonetheless it works, already setup a few favorite to the quickest use. Facebook app is fairly cool too, can click and view pics directly on the television. The only negative thing to say of the apps that we do use is that you simply Tube, this doesn't happen manage to please let me join with my Youtube account. I really can't view my favorite features or do just about anything that's linked to my You Tube account. It just starts playing videos as soon as the app loads up, however it does permit you to search videos even though the videos are playing, kinda weird in your case Tube though.
I bought this HDTV due to the big 3. 3D Compatibility, Picture, and Internet Connectivity. Out of all the research and video reviews and testimonials, all this cause this TV or even the LG Plasma 60PZ950. I choose this TV due to the LED technology along with the tariff of the glasses. Not to mention this HDTV included 4 pairs of classes along with the 60PZ950 came with none, and the ones glasses cost 70 buck an item. For this reason alone I choose passive over active i can't be happier with my decision. What you want is LG Cinema 3D!

* Viewing angle is fantastic for LCD. My family room is wide and shallow, so when I've guests, they are able to start to see the TV all right from 60 degrees off center.
* Good streaming support - Comes with Netflix, Hulu+, Amazon VOD, and Vudu (which we do not use).

HD looks sharp and only rarely does a frame skip or rebuffering come about (we're using FIOS for internet). It sometimes forgets that you have completed an instalment and says that this already played episode could be the "next" one. I'm just going to list several notes since I've come across almost all of the same things from the great deal of these reviews.
- The TV's sound is good enough for regular use. Anybody who complains in regards to the insufficient speakers in a TV this thin is stupid... whenever they cared about their sound that much they will have a sound system create and wouldn't need the TV speakers.
- The internet dongle isn't great. However, I have my PS3 / PC hooked up to the HDMI inputs and that i just stream my stuff from those.
- 3d live sports is not great yet. We've verizon FIOS and that only gives me 2 3d channels... mostly they play College pigskin on them. The caliber of the image is not that great however it is still cool to view sports in 3d. Just decrease your standards a bit and its particular good enough.
- I own a great deal of gaming systems. Them all work great about the TV, of course this TV really makes it show how bad graphics used to be. One problem I've had is my N64 can not work using this TV but does with other people. All the colors glitch every couple of seconds. I could this with 2 different N64 setups and see the same. Unclear if it's just my TV or if this describes a software problem.
- TruMotion is worthless unless you are watching animal planet something like that. It causes delay on the Wii and mouse movements for my computer. Sometimes it causes sound sync problems. I leave it off usually.
- The image is absolutely good. I merely took someone's settings I saw in the review on here and they work great.
- The special moment motion controller or whatever is okay. It is just a cool gimmick, however i always be there up making use of it.
- The LG apps that are not mainstream for the TV are awful.
- The stand is MEANT to be able to turn side to side. I don't know how people can review this TV and claim that they are not positive that the TV are able to turn or not. It can be clearly for the purpose of that. Make sure you put it together in the right order... I don't remember what that order is however it only works one way (I think hook the tv screen around it first then put on stand?).
- I got 10 pairs of free 3d glasses with my TV. They are nice. I switching two pairs so they really were left / left and right / right lenses so I could play game titles which are split screen in full screen (each player sees their screen as full screen) and it works fine using this TV. I am waiting for you to definitely come out with 3d glasses which do this i really need not do a crappy job popping lenses inside and outside.
- Passive vs active 3d : passive can be so greater. lighter. cheaper. no batteries. no headaches. anybody who buys an engaged 3d tv is really a fool who thinks that paying more income = better without doing any research. Pretty much everything 3d technology is most likely going to be a lot better annually or two, so why pay a premium price for something which will likely be obsolete in a short time? Have the cheap one for the present time.
- We've heard there is certainly some lag for gaming when compared to plasma TV's... I can't notice it with TRUmotion off. While i use my computer there isn't any mouse movement delay after its set right.
Overall, great TV. Colors are excellent. Darkness is extremely good (I play Dead Space onto it). Shipping was fine. I would not notice any lighting problems with the LED's inside the TV like some individuals mention. Any bad review I've seen is just too critical. Nobody will almost certainly see the stuff they've issues with. You receive an amazing TV for 2/3 of what all the others pays.
Let me know if someone else sees the same trouble with N64 color glitches...
UPDATE:
I finally identified what was occurring with the color glitches. First of all, it really is was not just with my N64... it was with A/V jacks in general. Apparently I had created to be in expert mode (game mode had glitches) on the TV to eliminate the glitches. I do believe the television was a little bit of processing for the signal which it shouldn't have been. If you decide to check this out problem, change to expert mode and have fun with the settings until it is going away!
Wonderful TV--Bang for buck
WHY?
Bought this to exchange a 42" Panasonic plasma, i love, and yes it served me well these past 6 years. I was unwilling to visit LED/LCD because i watch hockey, that is a hectic game. After i initially bought my Panny in 2005, LCD wasn't even a possibility... it absolutely was waaaay to blurry for sports. Anyone concerned about blur while on an LCD need not worry; a minimum of for this unit.
SET-UP:
Easy. Internet set-up equally easy. The wii-type controller does make browsing simpler definitely. Menus are really easy to navigate. Usually there's always one setting that is in some obscure place within a tv menu, but my way through this unit is when it belongs. Got a bit of good specs for calibration on-line and easy (I highly recommend tweaking the out-of-box settings). Google "47lw5600 calibration" and you'll get plenty of results.
PICTURE:
Wow.... going from my 6 yr old Panny to the was like going coming from a well-tuned corvette with a lambourghini... both good, but leagues apart. The image quality, once calibrated is very good. Out of the box I used to be not that pleased, but once tweaked (using normal menu settings, no fancy secret codes required) it can be stunning. It becomes an excellent 2D tv to the price. Viewing range for people is approximately 10' and it's really perfect. Strengthens incredibly well in daylight.. a million times better than our plasma did, and also at night very sharp also (I would recommend messing around with the settings for daytime and nighttime viewing).
3D:
Once I figured out I had created to re-calibrate my PS3 under Display Settings (thank you IGN)....Surpisingly good. Anyone ripping on passive not "true HD" will need to have implanted eagle eyes.... While this may be true from your technical sense, my eyes like it perfectly. Winning contests in 3D for the PS3 is actually very cool (and i also employed to rip with a buddy who swears by 3D gaming...I am converted). The glasses are light (particularly the family pack ones that are more customized), and within about 5 mins you forget you are using them. The clip-ons was very successful too for my cousin with glasses.
MINOR COMPLAINT:
The power cord is smack during a corner. I needed to screw around with spacers for my mount to be to be effective, which means you may need to muck around if you're wall mounting.

Very pleased with my decision
i prefered the LED TVs because it will be connected to a FiOS box, a PS3 (for bluray), and probably a pc. I understand that plasma has come a long way however i still can see the burn-in in the DVR guide on my small friend's 2 yr old plasma. I prefer to be safe then sorry when spending over $1k. Another item which makes it worth every penny is energy consumption... it uses less energy and thus produces less heat (I think one reviewer measured it at 80-100 watts at his settings).
I decided to go 3D because, at that price, whats another few bucks for any cheap thrill. i can't feel that 3D tech has settled yet, and so i can't realize why I'd personally put hundreds of dollars into active shutter glasses. We've sat thru a movie together and I always know these folks were on my own head. I do believe the LG Passive system looks good and that i only feel like i'm wearing an inexpensive set of two sunglasses at $10 a pop (it had 8 pairs from amazon so I don't even require more).
The amazon delivery service was great, I was surprised there was clearly merely one person, but he got the task done. Setup was a snap. The applications on TVs remain weird to me, I am satisfied with my Hulu, Netflix, Vudu and Amazon apps, any devices isn't really getting touched. Vudu may be the only service to me that does 3D on-demand videos besides FiOS At will.
People complain that the magic remote is useless... i really like it. As soon as you get used to it, there's rarely grounds to utilize the opposite one because I mainly have to use my FiOS remote.
I do wish there were more documentation. We are just researching the SIMPLINK and how it could control other HDMI devices but LG didn't write much about it. I acquired it to control the PS3 although not my FiOS box yet.
Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to others.

Best in class 3D - from someone who should know
In my office we now have numerous 3D displays from LED screens from various manufacturers that cost $2k to Projectors that cost $20k and beyond, then there is not one of them that does a better job in your home environment than this does. It is easy to setup, easy to use, the style is sharp, the colours are strong and true as well as the 3D is just right. The passive glasses technology is great for the property environment for three reasons i) passive glasses are super cheap and super light ii) no batteries or charging required iii) in order to buying the glasses from your movies it is possible to plus they work perfectly iv) this also is super important: we've people utilizing 3D monitors the entire day and every one of THEM use passive screen technology...why? because it reduces eyestrain which can be a worry in case you are watching 3D to have an extended time period with active glasses.
What really blows my thoughts is always that these sets are nowhere near the costliest on the market however i can categorically state that of all the sets which i have experienced and used throughout the last Several years (samsung, sony etc) I'd personally not purchase one of them instead of the LG set. The ghosting for this set is virtually non-existent something I cannot say for that samsung sets we've had.
In closing it truely does work great being a regular TV (I shut off the 120Hz, 240Hz etc since it does things to the style on every tv that's been able to it that being a filmaker makes me desire to hurt myself...the most effective film images on the planet appear to be bad soap tv when you have those ideas activated and honestly even for sports it leaves me cold). And it works amazing as being a 3D TV. Visitors constantly impressed by how cool the 3D is. And if you're hanging around for glasses free tv i) the light passive glasses can even make it much less associated with an issue ii) you have the required time to avoid wasting up :) we're still years away from a collection without glasses you want to have inside your lounge (you will find I've come across them, such as the prototypes which are still 24 months far from production and they're still nowhere near this tv).

Great 3D LED LCD
Beautiful TV for your Price
Hook-up was super simple. There are 4 HDMI ports readily available in the left (browsing front from the TV) rear of the panel. One cable per device, and the TV does the others. The wireless network was simple to set up - the television set comes with a included wireless USB dongle you plug into one of several two open ports around the back - ladies port to have an ethernet cable if you'd rather go wired.
The picture itself is amazing. Almost painfully bright and vivid about the stock settings. After messing using the settings for quite a while, I found those who work most effectively for me inside my space plus it looks beautiful. There are zero visible lazy or dead pixels, and that i haven't been able to see any video artifacts brought on by the display. In spite of this, the display will tend to show any flaws inside your video sources, so you might become dissatisfied with many content - particularly many of the "HD" content out of your cable provider. There can be a picture setting for automatically adjusting the backlight along with other settings with an "intelligent sensor". I found the image under that setting to be too dim, and so i ended up abandoning it for the variation of the standard settings while using backlight set across the core of the range. I started by incorporating settings from a well known AV forum and worked from there until I had the style I want to. One nice thing for me personally is that this TV has a lot of range, and that i didn't have to max anything out to get where I want to being - even a brightly lit room. I haven't noticed much backlight bleed on the edges - during the dark. I'm not saying it is not there in any way, however it is not at a level that bothers me by any means.
The passive 3D is pretty awesome using the right content. The set includes four pairs of lightweight, polarized glasses that seem to be and feel pretty cheap, but work practically. I'm finding that 3D is centered on the content. If you wish to very impressed, watch similar to Despicable Me in 3D - the depth and resolution really draws you in. To me, though, it's still simply a novelty and the grand tastes content I watch on the set is 2D. It's worth noting that, for those who have a Ps3 slim, the Playstation Store actually has some decent 3D content available on the internet.
The sound was acceptable, but similar to most built-in speakers, was form of "Meh". It's functional, such as the expect miracles in volume, dynamics, or clarity. I certainly don't recommend the sound for movie watching or gaming. I pretty quickly hooked the optical audio output to some Bose 1SR sound bar and turned off the television speakers - that put it in the actual sweet location for me.
The "smart TV" software programs are better than expected. The menus are really simple to access, sometimes more so with the included free motion remote (swing it around in mid-air also it controls a cursor on screen). There may be several video apps that permit you to watch content from various online providers like Amazon Instant Video or Netflix, and so they apparently work pretty well. There's a small percentage lag inside menu system. The typing interface can be clunky, however, the motion remote can make it superior. It will make an excellent stand-alone system, although I still find myself using my Playstation 3 or Apple TV to look at Netflix content because I recently such as the interface a tad bit better. Another reason is always that We've all the gear programmed right into a Harmony universal remote, which only supports standard navigation (click for up/down/left/right/etc), and that i often cannot be bothered to visit receive the motion remote which makes it menus so much easier to use. :)
Overall, I'm very impressed using this type of set for the bucks. I was obviously a little nervous about buying LG, but they've really advanced significantly over the last couple of years. I would recommend this display wholeheartedly to your my buddies.
LG 55lw5600 AWESOME!!!
The 2D to 3D Conversion works well.
When I began looking for a new TV 3D was not on my set of "must have features". I aquired the 55LW5600 due to the display quality, price and size. I used to believe 3D TV's were a fad i could not choose to own certainly one of my own, personal. Mostly because I did not feel that there'd ever be enough 3D content to help it become worthwhile.
However which has a 2D to 3D converter built into this TV, it makes every video source a 3D source.
Once I had the tv screen both at home and installed I gave the 2D to 3D converter a try. I became amazed, the consequence increases results then you can certainly imagine I encourage one to enter a local store and appearance out.
So far I have watched a dozen movies using the 3D converter enabled. The 3D effect is performed well. Watching the epic panning shots in Lord with the Rings with 3D enabled is a whole new experience.
A final note about the 3D glasses. This TV uses passive 3D. This means no expensive, heavy, or costly shutter glasses. The 3D glasses are quite obvious light weight plastic. This ensures they are quite likely going to scratches then with glass. And that means you will need to take care not to toss them together with the pile of remotes. However given that they cost ~$5 to get another one is not a huge deal if you have to replace them in the future.
Owning this TV has changed my estimation on 3D movies in the home. I've found I really enjoy re-watching my movie collection with 3D enabled. I have found I enjoy the additional depth it increases my old movies.

I ordered it to get a great price on here. The shipping was free and was considered "white glove" that i believe means they bring it in, put the climb onto it, and make certain it works prior to going. I have a Samsung 50" plasma that features a great picture this is replacing. Why did I purchase it? Mainly due to the 3D hype and being the first in my family to get that. I actually purchased it without going to a big block store to see it first due to the price here. In the morning I decided to visit see it directly at our local store. Sadly I was disappointed there. The television had some film trailers in 3D they were demo'ing plus they didn't really allow it to be shine. I told myself never to get to disappointed and waited until mine came. And I'm glad Used to do.
Once I acquired mine I downloaded some files from the net including the state run LG 3D demo with this fish which comes out of your screen about halfway between your screen. Now I became totally impressed! Something, I sit about 7 feet back from your screen. Slightly closer and I noticed the interlace lines from the 3D. But where I used to be it looked like 1080p.
I had difficulties with having the wii style remote to get in touch to my TV. After i connected my TV to the web and it updated to the new firmware it connected instantly. I also noticed that the interlace lines I originally saw when I was more detailed the screen were much harder to see. From research it would appear that LG has updated the algorithm in a very newer firmware include them as less noticeable and delay pills work!
Also, in the event you google you will find that it is possible to activate a THX setting for regular and 3D content that creates the TV look outstanding! If you are doing a lot of media streaming from the TV that one could also activate a dolby digital passthrough. Otherwise it limits that you 2 channels.
Some folks have complained about the tv screen having gaming lag. With the correct settings this TV looks 10 times better then my Samsung plasma does. I'm super very pleased with my purchase and would repeat the process in a heartbeat. This TV looks and acts just like a TV costing a great thousand more.
Update - 2D to 3D works very good but really depends upon the fabric you might be watching. I watched a nature show within on and yes it looked amazing. Also, you need to hard wire it to the net (don't use the wifi). I just read someone complaining about Netflix looking pretty bad on some motion material, but the faster wired connection I can't use whatever artifacts. TV plays MKV files perfectly should you be into downloading, high are lots of 3D MKV files available that really work flawlessly about this TV. Use the "Plex Media Server" that you could google on the net. It's free and sponsored by LG. Works far better then your Nero CD they send with the TV.

The issues I needed could be that the first TV was damaged during delivery. When I called Amazon, the customer service rep sounded like she involved to fall asleep as if my problem was pointless and boring. Words cannot describe the rage I felt since I had just spent $1,200 with a great TV but I have a broken one within my door the morning after I lost my job. Amazon has given me an exchange these days after simply a little on the month, it's $985. That stings a bit after that whole experience however the TV itself gets 5 stars from me. (Similar to when your parents yell at you and then offers you ice cream to to relax you. At the very least the frozen treats remains to be delicious.)

Good layout from the hdmi ports, but, yes, like other reviews, I'm not really happy that this cables will hang out slightly. the magic motion remote is cool (a legitimate strategy, works the same as wii), however it is not perfect - you ought to be careful when aiming it, becasue it is very sensitive. As far as the wifi setup goes it is easy enough; took some effort, in case you happen to be tech savvy, like lots of people, it isn't really an irritation. As far as screen resolution goes, I do believe LG does similar in results a career with screen resolution just like any competitor. As far as calibration, you must do your homework - it helps in the event you read a few websites (i.e., cnet, hdtvreviewlab) to obtain suggested settings. the LG firmware provides a configuration screen and lets you choose what seems ideal for your viewing pleasure. As far as quality of sound, it's ok for my needs; however i may purchase a sound bar. I trust other reviews concerning the "smart tv" features, made choices there; and Certainly with complaints re: difficulty with using the browser and also the magic motion remote. But, I truly didn't want it anyway (in fact, I've lots of other options for web surfing).

Don't get hung up on 120 vs. 240 hertz as it won't change lives for motion blur. I see no blur during sports or action movies.
I also have no difficulties with ghosting or flash lighting or blooming or clouding or some of the other negatives that were mentioned in other reviews in connection with picture. Not saying they didn't have issues. Just saying I have not had any.
I much like the matte screen as a result of where my TV is positioned. Reflections are minimal.
The 2D picture is quite nice. Take enough time to identify a couple different tips for calibrating the picture. I experienced 3 before deciding what type I liked, then tweaked it a tad bit more to accommodate me.
I have watched several 3D movies with the children (Tangled, Gnomio & Juliet, A Christmas Carol, The way to Train Your Dragon to cover a few) and i also are actually impressed with the quality. I have witnessed 3D movies in the cinema at IMAX 3D, as well as the 3D on this set reaches the same level in my opinion. It seems like I possibly could dive right in towards the scene from time to time. I'm not sure the 3D hate is about in certain in the reviews. The 3D picture is outstanding. I have updated the firmware whenever requested from the TV and possess had no issues with any of the updates or the Smart features. I noticed some experiencing difficulity with Flash and other firmware issues. All I will have to say is I've had none.
I installed an array extender for my wireless signal because of the distance from my TV to my router/wi-fi. I was first shocked at how pay off the picture occurs when streaming movies from Netflix via the Smart App (I needed previously used my Xbox360 to view Netflix movies and has not been impressed).
I connected my laptop via SVG cable along no issues. Browsed the world wide web and checked my mail.
I make use of a Logitech universal remote and so i can't discuss the included remote. I occasionally use the Wand pointer that accompany the television and it works fine. If you have ever used a Wii remote you will end up knowledgeable about the operation. If not don't get worried. It took my 4 year old about 5 seconds to work out.
Some may find the stand slightly low in stability, but my kids know to not make use of the TV being a jungle jim so it will be no problem for individuals. Obviously should you be gonna mount the tv screen it's not a concern.
What solved the problem opt to pull the trigger on this set is the reviews that are positive when compared to the negatives, and of course the average person points made within each. Maybe I'm simply much easier to please than some, but I understand what I prefer.

This TV is basically nice. I had created trouble deciding between that one and a comparable plasma. It appears as if everybody that buys an LED LCD loves it and everybody that buys a plasma loves it. GAMERS:
Input lag would be a pretty big concern for me personally. You'll find 3 gamers inside my house. It turned out pretty bad to start with. Don't even try 3D with a fast paced game. Don't worry though. With some short clicks everything went away. If you don't trust me then trust my teen who lives in COD:MW3. Ensure your tv is within game mode. Also, [I'm investing in this one on faith from several website] alter the label in the input to PC. Not sure if this had a direct impact but no matter what, We have no measurable input lag. Also, the pixel response time is fast enough which i lack trails either.
2D->3D conversion:
My only exposure to that is with an episode of Spongebob I oftentimes tried for background noise while I used to be getting everything build. I tried for the glasses, use it in 2D->3D mode and voila. Everything were built with a slight texture. Nothing spectacular but pretty cool nonetheless. I have never popped in a true 3D show yet so I can't speak to that. Basically have the time after having a go I'll come back and edit this post.
Standard Definition:
Nothing great here. If you have an LCD congratulations, you already know what your standard television channels are likely to produce. Low quality, slightly pixelated images. Doesn't bother me. I purchased this TV for HD movies and games.
Movie Quality:
My first Blu-ray disc watching was Lord of the Rings: Fellowship with the Ring extended cut (you can get the trilogy on Amazon for $50). The picture quality is wonderful. There are lots of picture modes for the tv like standard, cinema, vivid... I put it on vivid first. The shots were so clear it appeared like watching the movie via a window. Need I say more?

For gaming it's super crisp and amazing. You might notice a slight judder or ghost on very fast games although not really on movies or anything. I've only noticed it with games which may have a lot of super bright colors. The TV is equipped with some lag with audio so expect that. The audio sounds tin like instead of realistic, it really is pretty bad. I propose all of us have a receiver anyway. In case you have a higher end HDTV, you only look foolish devoid of at the very least a cheap receiver by incorporating low end speakers. A fantastic receiver with even halfway decent speakers can make your property sound like an IMAX. You really aren't taking full benefit from blu-ray discs or perhaps your games should you be just watching this unique picture with completely horrible 3 inch TV speakers. However if you're running TrueHD with 3D via a receiver, you might need a set of 1.4 HDMI cables otherwise you will run into cutouts.
One final thing. If you want a significant HDTV and you're simply attempting to decide between this and a Vizio or some different not top tier name brand, please do yourself a favor and go with this. Vizio talks big but LG has proven using this set that you could create a cheap TV and still have top quality. Vizio is usually not high quality and sets have issues with reds. This set renders every color amazingly bright and possesses a really full color spectrum. Before i had a DLP and didn't think I really could get accustomed to an LCD, but this set made me overlook my DLP.
This may be the TV I have been previously awaiting all of my life!
First, allow me to review the 3D. Absolutely amazing. First movie I saw for this TV was Lion King and that i wasn't disappointed. Other TV's just don't match on the quality of LG's 3D pictures. The glasses are simple plastic glasses as if you get in the theaters no have to charge as with other 3D TV. The 2D-3D conversion is outstanding. You can watch you favorite show or sport event and just turn this approach on and you have 3D picture in nano seconds. Should you be into 3D gaming. Hardly any other TV would bring the games your exactly like it, I guarantee. Truly, the most effective 3D TV available in the market.
Secondly, the Smart TV. While I am not as impressed while using internet browser much like me with everything else else, it's fairly well. The real "smart" on this TV really also comes in the premium packets (i.e. Netflix, MLB.tv, Hulu Plus, etc.) and after a few software updates, these types of services (a high level member to your) are absolutely amazing. Connecting to YouTube is simple, however i wish they will update the interface and add categories such as "most viewed" and "most popular" and permit the user to register and rate, comment, and share. This might credit card debt as to what it looks like now. I'm not really everything obsessive about apps but LG includes a large inventory of all types of apps.
Now for that little details. I have tried to extensively research various LED TV's and then for quality/price ratio stumbled upon this place.
I felt slightly uneasy purchasing LG tv since everyone brags about Samsung and Sony etc., but LG got it absolutely right using this type of tv.
The tv is thin and lightweight and also the picture is merely amazing. It also features a non glare non shiny screen which is a big plus for me personally in my bright sunny lit room. I aquired this mainly to watch regular 2D HDTV but the 3D picture is astonishing at the same time and the kids are now enslaved by the 3D viewing.
The colors are bright and natural looking and comparing to my existing LED Samsung and Sharp TV's, the image quality is indistinguishable to attention.
Plus this tv has internet access and smart remote that is a bonus.
The best thing about this tv is that it can read computer drives and then for any coded movies on it, ie mkv, mp4, avi etc (a great deal of formats) - so you don't need to duplicate onto a disc and connect thru usb and watch.
I have nothing but high accolades just for this tv - it's simply AMAZING.
Couldn't Be Happier.
First off - I can't use a lot of the internet-enabled stuff. Netflix and Vudu - that's virtually it, and they both manage to work very well. A radio adapter is included inside box (yay!) but I get it plugged into my router and streaming video seems to work perfectly as intended.
The picture quality is in fact perfect. The Samsung I returned looked very good, nevertheless the color was over-saturated with out matter Used to, I could not have it to take a look quite right. The picture for this LG looks considerably more natural (if slightly duller electrical systems) and delivers crisp, clear HD images. It's got an expedient picture setup wizard that walks you through some common settings, tailoring and saving your custom preferences to some special profile which you'll later refine further.
The Wii-style Magic-something-Remote is kinda fun, but about irrelevant. I've got my HD cable box connected via HDMI, which has a TOSLINK running from the TV to my Onkyo receiver (which explains why I didn't rate the audio). After adjusting the SPDIF delay slightly using the Audio Settings menu within the tv, HD cable looks fantastic. I don't use a blu-ray player yet, however i sampled some 1080p video from Vudu and yes it looks great also. A nearby dimming feature generally seems to work effectively and is also nearly unnoticeable, this means it's doing its job intended.
Overall I'm happy with this particular tv and would definitely recommend it.

Got WAY more than I taken care of... Actually the perfect TV
I need to say though I wasn't very considering the other 3D technology available because not just would I pay for that TV but one more $150 dollars per set of active 3D glasses which will must also be charged and that i was told were very fragile. This TV not merely comes with four pairs of glasses but it uses the same lightweight glasses because the theater as well as not charging what so ever and allows for all my friends and family to look at 3D once they come over. So since i have already were built with a PS3 which can play 3D all while i got the tv screen I used to be willing to watch 3D hardly anything else additional necessary to purchase. Lacking truly compared active 3D to Passive 3D I can't say just how much quality is lost but the quality of the passive 3D is so good it doesn't leave almost anything to be desired and when I'm sacrificing some quality it was worth not having the expensive glasses and it is truly not noticeable enough for me to care.
Don't even get me began on the remote and also the direct link media share capabilities and the other many features this TV provides. I really could seriously continue forever about this TV. I NEVER might have likely to get a great deal for so very little and i'm greater than happy with this TV. That is more than amazing TV and will be happy owning it for years to come.|
LOVE IT!
I haven't even begun to delve into all of the functions and capability it has, however i am BLOWN AWAY with the picture quality. We have tested several 3D Blu Ray discs within it, and so far essentially the most impressive may be "The Polar Express." The look is STUNNING when working with either cable, Blu Ray, or regular DVD. By far the very best television in terms of image quality goes i have ever owned.
The Passive 3D glasses are very lightweight, you barely realize you happen to be wearing them. The set is sold with 4, and they're A lot more affordable compared to the other types I've come across.
The remote is extremely simple to use, out of the box the weird-but-fun "Magic Motion" control.
Sleek, attractive, absolutely stunning. I suggest this unit.

The most important thing to me is "Picture Quality"
I must claim that i will be very impressed using the display quality, colors are bright, Blu rays are utterly beautiful, regular dvds are okay looking however, you will easily notice the diffrence in quality between both formats, regular tv is certainly not trendy thats why i ordered an HD reciever from my cable provider... many people have issues with the "tru motion" function.. (provides it with a fake soap opera look) i appear to as it but if you dont its simple "Turn it OFF"... some individuals mention the screen "bleeding" plus it does nonetheless its not really a deal breaker to me.
Second most important to me is "Gaming"
I was near to not buying this tv due to bad reviews it had when it found gaming, well im happy to state that we have not a clue what they where discussing... we have both an "Xbox 360" along with a "PS3"... and the most popular game genre are "FPS" and "Fighting Games"... i've got to say that i've not experienced any lag, and that i had my son and his awesome friends play "Black ops" (incidentally they are great).. and they also agree which it plays perfectly normal, even though it's just not in "Game Mode"... used to install the most recent update and deterred the "tru motion" feature... so rest asuured until this tv will have nice with youre consoles.
Third is the "3D"
The 3D is amazing, my buddy comes with a "active 3D tv" and he agrees that "passive" may be the way to go!... now so far as the 3D effect, well that all is dependent upon the information you play... see some movies where filmed with 3D cameras (let's consider best looking 3D movies).. yet others where just "converted" ... so do youre research before choosing any 3d movies... here's my quick report on movies i propose ( avatar, resident evil, kelly slater ultimate wave, despicable me, monsters vs aliens, coraline, rio, open season).. these seem to have more "pop out" effects than a sense 3D depth...The 2D to 3D conversion is fairly cool nevertheless its not quality 3d (you can convert anything in the news thou).. so overall it functions.
Fourth is " Sound"
The sound is not amazing nonetheless it does what its suppose to complete, if you prefer a kick ass sound, then i recommend you acquire a "surround sound" or even a "sound bar"... overall it functions, so no complaints.
Fifth is "Design"
It seems like most TVs on the market, the bezel is fairly thin, and what's more amazing is how "Thin" and "light" this tv is... very impressed... total its a fantastic looking tv.
Sixth "app/Smart tv function"
Let me state that this is no "Google Tv"... i became not impressed while using "app store" or even the "web browser"... overall i decided to never even use it (maybe only for Netflix) aside from that i believe this may be the tv weakest feature, although thats why i have my two Video games for.
Overall i'm delighted using this tv, and that i would recommend it to everyone,... you receive "High end" features at "Low end" price.

I love the Passive 3d. No glasses to charge, these are cheap to get, or simply bring yours home from the theater. I actually think the theater glasses tend to be more heavy duty compared to the LG ones that come with the television. They look nicer, however the ones through the theater seem tougher.
And there are tons of bad reviews about gaming lag on this set. Just rename whatever input you have your console on "PC" and 99% of the disappears.
I turned True Motion off. It just seemed like things were planning slow motion as well.
The 2d to 3d conversion feature is awesome. Watching the bowl games this year in 3d was crazy. It made the football games look like you're playing madden on playstation as well. The 2d conversion often doesn't provide you with the "pop out" that most people like, however it adds an incredible depth for the picture that is cool. Especially with movies which were released in 3d for example, the newest Resident Evil moive. I converted it to 3d from Starz also it looks great. Granted, you didn't have the full effect you'd from a 3d blu-ray, it was still really good.
I would suggest this tv. Even if you don't like 3d. Its a great regular TV at the same time.

Create was super easy and all of my devices hooked up with no problem. For you gamers, after you update towards the latest OTA update and use "GAME" mode, the lag is nonexistent. Even on Rockband/GH games the sync is ideal! I also stream Netflix via the included wireless network adapter without having problems or buffering in any respect. There are two USB ports the bonus, since the included network adapter works on the USB port. I connect a 1TB HDD for the other USB port.
The only little thing that is left to become desired could be the sound, to get a smaller room, it might be perfect for most, but my lounge is pretty large hence the built-in speakers are not everything that great. Adding a soundbar or component HT is a great idea for anyone with bigger rooms. I bought the Vizio VHT215 via Amazon and couldn't be happier. See my review around the Vizio soundbar is that you simply are interested in a soundbar since your speaker solution.
The reason why I didn't desire a 3D TV in the first place is that I heard/read that some TVs do HD good but 3D terribly and vice versa. After reading reviews and finally seeing it within my own lounge, this set does both MAGNIFICENTLY! 3D has great pop for a passive system and the glasses have become inexpensive not like active shutter glasses. For my money, you can't obtain a more crisp picture. I cannot recommend this TV any higher.
Great price for a great display!
The 55LW5600 is a superb display. Good blacks. Excellent feature options. I have recommended this display OVER the Samsung UN55D8000 since the quality/price ratio is just too GOOD to miss. Should you be interested in a LED/120HZ/3d here is your TV. Amazon white glove delivery was also very good, and will also likely 't be my last item I order from their website. I'd reservations ordering this type of large product online, however it was a very good experience.

Cleaning it once a to use a active 3d, and all I noticed was the flicker. Passive is bright, and amazing. I've the 55 inch, and sit about 12ft away. Tangled 3d, Tron 3d, Cars 2 - all look amazing. I didnrrrt buy this TV for that 3d, but it is def a perk.
Updates are cool - and so they work.
Netflix is a useful one, it appears very similar to the PS3 interface. Feels a little sluggish when compared to PS3 but acceptable.
Wireless is really a perk, however i am wired.
Cons:
The menu method is alittle clunky, but usable, the "WII" controller is actually cool. I was searching for a complele replacement never to switch on my 360/PS3 again for netflix, and streaming, but considering the TV processor leaves some to become desired. No worries.
Feels a little flimsy, but what might you ask from something which is this size, and keeping the thinkness down so much. It "feels" flimsy, but it also seems like a good panel. I might buy again.

Very solid set
I initially got a new Samsung D6000, however it was defective (dead pixel cluster). The set was decent apart from that. When debating things to exchange it for (Amazon was out from the D6000) I debated long and hard between this set and the Toshiba TL515. After possessing one a couple of days I'm happy about my decision. I like the picture for this set even better than my D6000.
As just for this set - it provides a very nice bright picture. Very neat and crisp. It has a matte screen, which you can see in certain shots provides it with a rather less crisp appearance, however i see that however, it makes a significantly less reflective picture compared to the glossy screens. In addition, it, if you ask me, provides it with a more life like picture and adds some texture on the image.
The web browsing functions are decent, although not outstanding. Even using the magic motion remote (which IS cool), it's a bit cumbersome to scroll through things, especially when my laptop is correct facing me. Aside from streaming, I can't see myself with all the feature much. On one other hand, I did so download a new software update very quickly, which has been nice.
As for that 3D, I would not have a 3D blu-ray, but I did utilize 2d-3d conversion feature, that is pretty neat. It's a fantasy 3d but it does supply the image some cool depth. I can't imagine doing it a lot though. I wasn't really interested in 3d, but figured for the similar price, why not.
Another few neat tiny problems - the tv screen features a touch bezel, which doesn't perform a ton for you, yet it's pretty cool. Also, the bezel is nice looking, a little bulkier than I would really like yet it's so good. The samsung stood a nicer pedestal and bezel, but it is this type of minor thing that we doubt I'll think about it again after penning this.
Another random note for buyers - I watch a bunch of sports and also at first there was clearly a lot of judder and pixelation around fast moving items (just like the ball or legs running). I powered down the trumotion feature also it seems to have corrected the matter. There is incredibly occasional mild distortion on really fast motion, however i doubt there is a TV out there that will not give you any one that what so ever. I never got my Samsung so much that I became very pleased with the short motion image.
Overall: I prefer the television a good deal. I am delighted with the purchase i would absolutely recommend it on the Samsung D6000.
Excellent set - best I've ever owned
As others have stated, the apps are sort of klunky, but I love having the ability to stream content from my computer wirelessly for the TV. The LG app that they can recommend rule isn't followed so well, but I use Plex, which works flawlessly.
Overall, a fantastic purchase without any regrets. Love buying from Amazon, too. The price dropped 60 bucks from when I got myself it, and so they provided the finance. Looks just like the price is dropping a lttle bit again, but that will often be the case with technology items. No regrets. Would recommend and buy again.
Great tv for the great price
If anyone is seeking a quality tv with 3d and doesn't wish to hurt your wallet, this can be definitely one to think about. The only recommendation that I can make is actually money had not been this kind of issue I would've gone with the 240 htz as opposed to the 120.
Oh along with a little bit of info for many who need to know. LG can not seem to make these fast enough to meet demands. I was required to wait a little just for this television!

This TV does have an earphone output the step up since last models but it will disable all audio functions if used. So you can only hear from the optical or earphones and never both. I spent over 20 hours trying to solve this problem among others have done a similar. The Gefin unit works real easy. Be sure you order an optical cable to utilize it. Observations:
1. Watching over the air TV in HD is amazing. Once shortly still see blur during sport actions, but got mostly clear actions.

6. When in your home screen, I keep seeing the message the TV is updating software, seems to be endlessly updating. I wonder what were being updated...
7. Playing Xbox games are fine to date. Tested Forza Motorsport 4 and Dance Central 2. Both showed clear video quality with out blur at all.
8. May be it frequently occurs of LED TV, if watching coming from a wide angle (+45 degree from watching straight on), the screen seems a lot dimmer than from straight on.
Overall, both 2D and 3D are excellent. Very pleased with the purchase.
Unbelievable product...
I will warn you: not every movies will "POP" out at you like the demo you will see at the store. Movies like "Green Lantern" and "Thor" will simply show depth. Other side is, some movies like "Legend of Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole" was made especially for cinema 3d, and looks UNBELIEVABLE with this set.
The only con: Sound is sort of lacking. I fixed this using a nice pair of small computer speakers we have from cambridge sound in concert with subwoofer that works great.
All said and done, i propose this set to anyone!

Excellent TV with a few minor flaws
Pros :
1. Image quality is mind-blowing. I didn't see such quality on any TV yet.
2. 3D experience is superb. The 2D->3D conversion is superficial but it does improve the experience. Watched Lord of The Rings in 3D few days back also it was obviously a completely new experience.
3. The Smart TV is within general good with 3D mode app which has a lot of documentaries to stream, still the app store has lot to boost.
4. The five button remote is not only beautiful in looks, it's very handy that I practically never touch the opposite one!
Cons :
1. DLNA connectivity is a big dissatisfied, however i expect what has a brief thing. My Plex and other DLNA servers are hard found with the TV. The Plex client is visually appealing and useful too provided TV will get it which hardly happens. Spoke with LG customer service i heard they're implementing it. The Plex Apps are good.
2. Sound mentioned previously by others is below par.
Besides this, I havent used HDMI yet :P, will update the review after i get a 3D blu ray player.
WOW - exactly what a TV
It's the perfect size for your room (19 x 15) and we've mounted it onto a stand (as opposed to the wall) as it is in the corner. It looks good with it's black surround and matt screen. Even though our previous RPTV was working just fine, the reflections on screen all the windows (in spite of the blinds shut) meant we couldn't watch a movie in daytime - the picture was washed out completely. Since we changed for the LG, the matt screen ensures that we could now view tv during the day - a case in point we don't notice any reflections now in any respect. If you have a very bright room, a matt screen is the way to go (i do believe the Matt screens looks better than shiny ones anyways).
The colours are vibrant and clear and also the picture is extremely good (although used to do must tweak the settings within the menu to acquire a better picture). Some say the speakers are useless but we've found them perfectly adequate for day-to-day viewing. If you need surround sound then obviously you will want to include a received and separate speakers. But being a regular family room Tv, they're fine.
One in the stated problems with LCD screens could be the so named 'motion blur'. We haven't noticed these blur in any way (- I do notice blur and also have noticed it at my brother's house on his other brand TV).
Connection to the net was simple and the television automatically upgraded on the newest software version. I can't comment on the wifi connection even as are employing ethernet the greater option if you can go that route. The 'home' page could possibly be better presented. The LG apps are cool but gimmicky - like a 3D kids the one that allows you to try out 3D - which is a little gimmicky. The other apps (youtube, netflix etc) do their job OK and you can download a few more if you would like.
All in every - we're very happy while using TV and recommend it.

Do not buy this TV if you're not interested in 3D, online applications or even a loner without friends :)
If you've had active 3D, you may realize they may be an irritation to look at! the glasses though improved now remain bulkier than passive 3d glasses. active 3d glasses are expensive. This tv is sold with 4 pairs and i got 4 more pairs coming from a dollar cinema showing a 3d movie :) Now we can easily all watch 3d movies accustomed to friends and family! include that up for 8 active shutter glasses and you may see its almost a $400 expense! Also, passive 3d glasses don't present you with headache like active 3d do! ALSO, active 3d glasses carry on running into issues with syncing in the movie, passive 3d does not. The style quality in 3d is definitely better in active 3D though the difference is minimal. Remember, passive 3d may be the technology they use in cinemas also... therefore it cant be THAT bad... right???

Online apps although not very practical are nice time killers. We love to the netflix application though to observe streaming movies. I also just like the app which you could watch a movie while updating facebook status :P Crazy i understand.... nevertheless its nice nonetheless in case you are watching having a lot of geeky friends at their homes doing exactly the same and commenting together on facebook!

Amazing TV
Regarding the 3D, this isn't always enough to get this TV specifically, but it is an excellent additional feature. I favor the theater 3d superior to the active 3D, which bothered my eyes while i ever done it. It will add a fantastic extra dimension in any 3D movies/shows you can find, but frequently it's a little lacking, especially with 3D sports. However, with programs the 3D is utterly crazy, so I think it could rely on this program, perhaps not quite the TV.
I'll be sure to update this review if anything changes, but I love this TV, especially on the price I acquired it.

GREAT 3D TV
The only drawback We've heard of this TV, but cannot confirm, could be the sound, however i have it hooked up to a multichannel surround sound system and it is AMAZING, so no complaints.
Oh, and I also agonized in the 5600 model vs. the 6500 model. I ultimately chose this place and it's also amazing. I cannot envision the 6500 model being that much better, therefore i suggest it can save you your money and go with that one.
Two words - Totally Awesome
The 2D picture is entirely awesome. The 3D can also be awesome and uses a budget transportable glasses. The 2D to 3D choices a OK nonetheless it will not make 2D - 3D. I obtained a wall mount that lets me move the tv screen up or down or angle it i seriously don't have to move the television. It is perfectly clear with a 20 degree angle.
I have a very 60" Sony Bravia, and this TV just blows it away. It can also be nice to offer the internet capability. It connects to home network Wi-Fi i can stream movies much like I had created a hardwire connection.
I haven't needed to call LG customer support but get emails wanting my comments and that i did log on and make use of the knownledge base to have my remote set up. LG customer satisfaction seems excellent.

I have waited for decades for TV remotes to possess a point and click mouse type GUI this also TV has it as well as a traditional remote, I simply wish U-Verse been there.

PROS
1. There exists a lot of windows next to the TV - this doesn't wash out at all in bright light.
2. Passive 3D glasses work great - no batteries/recharging needed. Plus the RealD 3D glasses from my movie theater work great into it.
3. Using a PS3 - 3D movies look wonderful. Yogi Bear 3D showed a lot of depth inside the 3D, precise, plus some scenes really popped from the screen coming at you.
4. Chose Standard Shipping - had TV next day. Thanks Amazon!
5. Very thin and light-weight, easy for a single person to maneuver.
6. I thought the 2D to 3D conversion only agreed to be for real - but it works quite well, especially on Blu Ray movies. I tried it out on some PS3 video games, and was surprised just how much it will improve the experience, even on older games.
CONS
1. The truth is that That's not me excellent at mechanical stuff, along with the instructions weren't clear on assembling the stand (they show how to assemble like 10 different stands, none ones were mine). I would have to be smarter compared to the thing, which apparently I wasn't :) Took excessively long, yet it's only 8 screws... oops!
2. The Smart TV functions are a minor dissatisfied. The Facebook app is quite tedious to make use of (takes forever to obtain the friend you want as it only shows several on the watch's screen simultaneously) as well as the application selection is horrible. Hopefully LG resolves that soon.

Very good LED at great price
I have only several minor gripes. The remote's directional buttons employed to navigate menus and such are 'clicky' i can't stand and they're flush with the other buttons making undesired button presses common. Another gripe is the fact that with a black screen with white type including credits there exists a glow from the fringe of the screen that decreases the darkness from the black. I've only noticed it in stark contrast situations like titles and credits so it's an extremely minor issue.|

Now, I am not a major gamer. I'm too old with the (although I actually do own both an Xbox with Kinect plus a Wii). So I can't verify the difficulties other reviewers stated regarding the slower refresh rate causing their video to lag while playing. Since yet, I saw no lag in anything I viewed thus far. I seriously feel that unless you are going to be one particular ultimately picky people who We've come across in other reviews, whether where you will purchase this TV with the 120 hz rate of the 240, I feel you are going to enjoy the picture no matter what.
One comparison We have between my Samsung 47" along with the LG 55" is that it seems with all the reviews of the TV's, people are complaining about the light LED bleeding especially from the corners. I saw that very sugnificantly using the Samsung. But, I must say with my experience of owning this TV during the last week, there is absolutely no such bleeding to talk of. The upper left corner seems to display a rather lighter glow than the other three but not even attempt to really be annoyed about. After watching the movie "Cowboys + Aliens" last night, I was awe struck with the clarity in the picture as well as the real colors. But after the scene got more active high was more background motion, and the other can greatly so begin to see the depth of 3D. Furthermore, i realized that when viewing a course in true HD, if in 3D mode, the sharper the picture, the more the 3D depth shines. Now, movies and videos which can be shot in 3D are awesome! We have TRON Legacy in 3D. When purchasing this TV Also i purchased an LG 3D blu ray player. It absolutely was so awesome being able to view that movie feeling just as if I became on the theatre watching it to the second time in 3D. It's very cool also, with all the passive 3D, one can view movies and shows in 3D without worrying in regards to a second box or when the batteries are likely to die. You merely squeeze glasses on when switched to 3D mode and totally enjoy!
The LG apps are ok. There could be more. One reviewer totally put down the Netflix app. I discovered nothing wrong by it. It loaded my shows just fine and i also actually watched and episode of "The Munsters" in 3D. Very cool. I dowloaded the 3D Zone app. It's really a cool app if you'd like something to offer you the design of what your 3D watching experience must be like. The videos are streamed over the internet connection and also since my wireless seems somewhat hoaky from time to time where it can be located, I had to have to wait for each 30 second list of video to help keep downloading. Oh, i get the magic remote quite useful. I prefer using it using the pointer on screen like a "one click and point" button solution over attempting to have the menu options and seeking to locate all of the right keys about the regular remote, particularly if you can't see them at nighttime. It's extremely easier to utilize compared to standard handy remote control. So, personally, the magic remote is a large plus!
The only drawback I came across annoying, as others have mentioned, the speakers of these thin tv's have a bit to get desired. But so what can one expect. It seemed like after you adjust every one of the sound options, you can find some pretty good sound out of your built in speakers so again that function isn't even it is a shame. But, I wish to be capable of add my first sub-woofer for added bass during regular TV viewing, without having to run it through the stereo reciever when a second sub-woofer is already connected. The only real option I can find for the back with an external audio out connection was the headphone jack. I attempted plugging my sub-woofer into that jack but which is labeled as a headphone jack, the tv screen "smartly" disables the on-board speakers as well as doesn't offer the user the option to do so his or herself. The television warns you which you have plugged something in to the headphone jack as well as the the speakers turn off. I then can get some bass through my sub-woofer the good news is without the sound through the TV. Hmmmmm.... The Samsung no less than had not a headphone jack but a labeled audio out jack and didn't disable the interior speakers if you don't opted for this with the options screen. So, now I've got to research an additional way to get sound to my first sub-woofer without the need to turn move through my stereo receiver first.
I also noticed citizens were complaining regarding the digital fibre optic output which it didn't move across the 5.1 audio. I have not hooked anything approximately that yet and so i am not gonna review or comment further unless I do.

Update, 1.5 months after purchase....
I still go along with every one of the above except now I have tried the 5.1 optical output. Cleaning it once a playing some dvd video clips with 5.1 surroumd sound still encoded and the sound was produced in the same way it was with the original movies through all 5 speakers. I ran across that being awesome!
I also don't see where people FREAK out about the saying the resolution has been cut in two when viewing 3D. Just what would you people feel the eyes are actually effective at detecting when watching television? Geez!! I felt when veiwing 3D, the image looks likewise sharp and clear as when viewing 2D. Maybe That's not me as picky as some of you but when you expect something greater than your own personal eyes are able to detect to start with, that is certainly going much in my opinion! Just watch it and luxuriate in!
I personally love this television and i also personally NOT likely to wait 12 months for a few other technology to be sold. So far as I will be concerned, the subsequent technology will have to be when they make images holographic and search during my family room or viewing area without needing any glasses or wearing anything extra for veiwing what-so-ever. Bang for your buck 3D TV
The initial assembly and setup took about 15 min. This TV comes with 2 controllers one of them may be the handy Wii-type controller, to perform on-screen selections. It automatically adjusts its temperature towards the ambient room temp, lighting etc. Analogously the energy settings get altered. A fantastic leap towards conserving your carbon footprint and cost savings. If about to catch happy with the adjustments how the TV makes, and need the rich bright shiny picture to become delivered inside highest and crispest quality, it is possible to manually over-ride the TV's adjustment settings, thru the short menu setup.
The only negative that I can think of in this TV may be the delivery of "bass" in audio. My other TV is often a Panasonic Plasma 50" and to the next TV, the audio about this TV is not that great. We will need to keep in mind that this is the case with a lot of of the wafer thin LED TVs. Thinner TVs cannot (yet) accommodate for good woofers within, hence relatively don't have the "bass" quality. So I cant hold it from this particular TV or model.

Lower resolution, but greater experience overall.
The glasses are extremely light that I don't even notice them. When you look across the room there is absolutely no flicker and everything is just tinted a lttle bit darker compared to no glasses whatsoever. Another big plus is that you may get 3D polarized clip-on glasses which is pleasant for those already wearing glasses.
Ghosting is eliminated too since each eye sees an alternative image the entire time instead of rapidly switching backwards and forwards much like the LCD glasses.
Active LCD glasses 3dtv gives you a sharper image than this passive set, however for me the advantages outweigh the cons by way of a mile.

Beautiful device though and i also will likely be returning it to the LG LSW400BG 52-Inch to 60-Inch EZ Slim Wall Mount for LG LED/LCD HDTVs. I wish there was a recommendation finest LG mount while using set. I didn't realize there is a challenge and remarked that the screws on the set were too much apart for that mount.
I never liked 3d before.
I hate watching 3d movies in theaters. I would like to watch just 3d movies / sports / tv when i'm in your house.
No headaches. No fatigue. I watched avatar 3d and tron 3d continual and might easily keep going. The 3d is excellent on this tv to the level it almost baffles me why anyone would opt for an active set.
2d looks great too and that i haven't calibrated anything yet except turning off trumotion.
Magic remote is fairly cool however with each of the comparisons towards the wii remote i wish it handled as accurately. It is simply an alternative needless to say and the smart apps work well.
It's a fantastic tv your money can buy.
Sold me on 3d
I've never been one to buy new-old technology, i really decided I'd browse the 3d TVs inside my budget range.
At a favorite electronic store that they had this LG next to a Sony active 3d TV. I originally ignored the LG as the crummy plastic glasses just didn't resemble they are able to do the trick, but after using the shutter glasses... I wasn't impressed in any way.
My girlfriend got me to look at this LG's demo of a fish. My god, it is amazing! The TV during this store was over 2000, on Amazon it had been nearly half the cost therefore i purchased the very next day.
In game titles like Shadow in the Colossus this TV has looked absolutely dazzling. It's strange to express it using this method, though the 3d effect can make it feel as if it is a step above hd.
The only movie I've watched so far is Tekken Vengeance (portion of Tekken Hybrid) and that absolutely is amazing too.
I hate to convey, it's the future, so a lot more things will start finding yourself in 3d. This can be an affordable option with the bells and whistles. For people who find themselves in opposition to 3d in general another thing I've noticed is always that once you watch something for a while with all the glasses about it becomes very natural and I've yet to get a headache or anything (while i have with shutter glasses).

55" Review
First of most, in case you have a good phone get the LG Remote App. Works much better compared to Magic Wand remote. You need to use your known as to help the cross hairs rather than pointing the remote and yes it makes life simpler.
Secondly, the 3D is much better than I believed it would be. I assumed it will you should be extra that I only bust out on special occasions but it's actually pretty impressive. Haven't watched any 3D blu-ray movies yet but Batman: Arkham City looked fantastic in 3D (Xbox) and 3Net on DirecTV had some cool 3D programming that looked great on this TV. ESPN 3D looked great too. Football and Baseball looked great while basketball looked okay. We used the 2D to 3D conversion about the Devils/Rangers game last night and it actually worked pretty well. Less good as something that was shot in 3D nonetheless it had been impressive. Much better than I believed.
The 2D picture in HD is amazing. Simply a great picture. I oftentimes tried the settings that Kevin Nicholls suggests inside comments section of his review and everything looks great. Mass Effect 3 (360) looks amazing with this TV.
The only complaint We have is not about the TV itself. My TV arrived with a 2 inch dent for the frame inside top left corner in the TV. The screen in unharmed and also the blemish isn't noticeable enough to create me send it back however it is a little disappointing. Can't really blame the seller (Electronic Express) because I don't know whenever they shipped it like this or if Fedex dinged it during delivery. Just something to think about when getting something similar to this delivered.
All in most I'd suggest this TV especially on the price they're offering it for (I acquired it when it had been $1500). Someone said the reviews with this TV also it still exceeded my expectations.
Edit: Oh , nor try to install the stand while using TV laying flat on the ground. It has to be elevated or the stand won't fall into line correctly. I learned this the difficult way and had to use the Styrofoam it had to raise it.
Bought Dec 2011, Excellent TV!!! GO PASSIVE 3D!!!
Right then there I began getting 3D Blu-ray movies and possess gotten quite a few since. They are breathtakingly beautiful, simply amazing! My one complaint first, the stand is garbage, seems flimsy and yes it sits about 1/8 - 3/8" crooked. This won't impact the viewing experience however i realize it will there be also it upsets me.
Picture quality is great. I used the calibration settings on CNet and merely appeared the backlight beyond their specs since i have possess the TV in the bright room. PS3 games look wonderful. I had grown sick and tired of Skyrim after 160 hours of gameplay but as i first viewed it in 1080p 3d I had to begin a new character. On any HD programming I really like it. For non HD programming or programming that is certainly older the product quality is usually a bit blurry while using 120hz (again was applied to viewing in 60hz) but that's minimal impact if you ask me.
User interface is decent along with the preloaded applications are pretty easy to use, perfect for me to nerd from Netflix documentaries. Wifi connectivity setup would have been a breeze. The browser is worthless though, so no surfing for the TV, connect internet connected computers or start the gaming console if that's your lifestyle.
Passive 3d - fantastic experience. I cannot debate picture of active vs passive 3d with anyone but passive will be the right selection for me. On the retail store watched some Blu-Ray aquatic documentary and yes it really was sweet, the fish swam out at your glasses are very non intrusive, as being a pair of light-weight sunglasses. Along with the cost of replacement glasses - negligible vs the active servings of Samsung TVs. I feel like while using the 2d-3d conversion it adds depth on the picture rather than things flying through your TV, still cool. If you're super 3d nerd and require the most display quality plus more depth maybe active could be the strategy to use, but for me I like upgrading game titles to 3d and the occasional sporting event or HBO movie now again rent the Blu-Ray 3d so Active is right. I'm not a videophile - prefer quality electronics vs 3k dollar TV, I am talking about it's going to be outdated in a short time anyway, right?

Best TV Picture I've ever Seen!
Originally I figured 55" can be overkill in a very room where I watch from 10' away, but not so! You is able to see every hair with a person's head as long as it's HD. I'm noticing standard-def not looking too proficient at all. Blu-ray movies are fantastic and definately will remind you the reason why you went Blu-ray to begin with. The sound about the TV is about just like any two little speakers may be; which isn't great. I would suggest a home-theater system. This TV works perfectly with my Panasonic SC-BTT770 5.1 Channel 3D Blu-ray Cinema Surround Home Entertainment System and fixes all sound issues. This TV, with the home theater system and perfectly placed speakers creates a true home theatre experience, specifically in my tiny room. I would recommend this TV to anyone. But just in case, Used to do go in for the five year warranty and beefed up home home security system. ;)

It has great internet interface which allows seamless link to all popular video downloading venues like Kindle, Netflix, iTunes, etc. It also offers a pointer that acts like a mouse that allows you to key information or "click" options without difficulty. The sound is much more than adequate, in addition to being good as I have ever had having a TV. The prices was also extremely completive; actually outstanding.
I bought the LG Infinia 47w5600 in September and have waited several months to check it before writing the review. My first TV was bought in 1949 it turned out an Admiral and had a huge 7in screen. I mention this because I want to establish my "credentials" as anyone who has experience with televisions. Always being considering technology, I had the "first computer system on the block" (a Radio Shack with TRS DOS), cam corder (concerning the sized a little lunch box), and also a video recorder (BetaMax). As a photographer, I calibrate my monitor and paper which has a Spyder. In brief, I'm about as fussy as possible regarding color, definition, not to mention, televisions.

So concerning the 3D. The glasses that come with the set are OK. But I was able to get yourself a set with 6 pairs for 40 bucks that have an arrangement for everybody. I wear glasses and it included some clip on glasses that actually work great. Haven't watched a ton of 3D stuff. I acquired a surfing movie and yes it appears to be it's are coming directly into the family area. I have Directv too and the've a couple of channels that are 3D and appear great. Had some friend over to browse the new TV and we counseled me laughing at the other person ducking the 3D images coming at us.
One more thing could be the TV includes two remotes. You are like most TV's includes. However it is great. Carries a nice feel and also the buttons are colored where you can nice feel. But I have a very Logitech Harmony remote. Works good in the media. But the cool thing may be the TV includes another WII style remote which is nice slender. And is best for progressing to every one of the TV smart features. Still two remotes. And not it is a shame.
Very Pleased-Excellent Value
As for the tv itself, couldn't become more pleased. Worked perfectly right out of the box. Are making a few minor alterations in picture which is beautiful. Tru Motion is scary how real some shows have been in HD, just like you have been in the studio.
Streaming video successful, up to now simply have used Amazon and Netflix, but no hiccups in any way. 2D to 3D works as described and still have watched one 3D movie (Rio) and after plugging HDMI direct form PS3 to tv and digital audio by theater also worked perfectly. Passive 3D, personally, is the strategy to use.
Just wanted an Generated replace my 6 year-old Sony HD rear projection (working and transferred to bedroom). This LG with 3D and Smart features was too good to give up. Couldn't be more pleased about this purchase and would most likely recommend to everyone.
P.S. Magic Motion Remote and 4 pairs of 3D glasses just improve the overall great package for LG.
Great TV - Great Value
Picked up the phone and called Amazon and exclaimed that the TV had an issue and without asking me to explain the issue they scheduled a substitute to become shipped to me ASAP. This happened on Wednesday December 14th and i also was written in context as the Amazon rep it would take of a week to find the replacement delivered. Much to my delight the shippers referred to as next Saturday and asked easily want for that TV to get delivered on that day the only real caveat being there will be no shipper provided setup - Some need any setup assistance in order that they brought the TV out early Saturday afternoon and found the defective unit.
I've had the tv screen for about 14 days now that i'm absolutely thrilled with the TV. I'm using Amazon Prime Video along with Netflix while using built in LG internet access features. I am satisfied with both Amazon Prime and Netflix, I couldn't be happier with all the LG TV. The blacks are inky black and also the bright images are awesome.
Haven't tried the 3D features much yet but that's not why I aquired this model. Even without the 3D features this TV is surely an incredible bargain at its price. We sit relatively near the TV (about 9-10 feet) along with the experience is fairly impressive.
I recommend this TV highly and am considering replacing an old 60" Hitachi with all the 65" LG.
Good 3D TV
One odd design would be that the TV uses HDMI 1.4, which includes Ethernet in the cable, but nevertheless requires a separate Ethernet or wireless connection to go online.
A severer dilemma is that you have a laser-pointer-like remote to the TV but wireless signals (including the one the television uses) will restrict it, and so the pointer on the screen isn't in sync with the movement of the remote, that makes using it to click buttons about the on-screen keyboard a chore. With all the arrow secrets to type is usually slow. I quit after it took 2 minutes to type "sons of" inside TV's YouTube app's search box. It only took 1 minute in order to connect my computer to the TV to watch YouTube. So, the smart TV (i.e., apps like those on smartphones) is simply useless i recommend connecting your personal computer and utilizing an invisible mouse and keyboard instead.

I was in the retail niche for televisions for many years and I have seen some very nice televisions, but that one blows all of them away. I'm amazed by the image quality with this tv,but ended up returning it.
Clouding and blur got really bad enough to bother me and send it back. Seeking another Tv now. Maybe mine was obviously a bad set and might even purchase the same one or the 65lw6500.
Price dropped twice. One time it dropped $14 dollar by Paul's Tv as well as the second timed in dropped a different $50 by amazon. Had not an issue getting a refund.
Awesome Entertainment at a great price
As for that LG5600. That's not me one of the most savy electronics person ( just ask my Ex-wife who now owns my 47 inch LG, for clarification), i really was expecting this to be a hassle to acquire setup. I started out slow, by simply hooking up satellite tv. That only took 5 minutes, so now I used to be willing to attempt the DVD and VCR. That was another 5 minutes and so I tested out the 2D to 3D feature having a Get Smart CD. Wow! How cool visiting a monochrome episode of Get Smart in semi 3D! I deterred the vitality saver feature, mainly because it was making the image too dark to the room the TV is in knowning that helped a great deal. The image is extremely good! I'm only using a $40 DVD player no HDMI cable connect for either the DVD player or VCR and the picture continues to be great! Someone said through to the net connection issues many individuals have, not with only this TV but all Smart TV's. Though We've wireless with the house, I assumed I'd be hard-wiring in order to prevent the frustration, therefore i had already measured out what number of feet of cable I might want to get for the router downstairs. I was thinking I'd personally at the very least try the provided adapter that was included with the LG to see how it went. Plugged it in the back of the TV as well as in about 5 seconds, I had been updating the television software and registering to start with installing the Applications I wanted! The passive 3D glasses are cheap, light, might be stylish (doesn't need the thick heavy battery) and possess clip-on that is a big plus for friends who's already wearing a glasses. This is a good TV, best price was on Amazon. Delivery took about 4 days and everything went well. I want to to have the biggest screen possible for under 1500 and this set separated itself among all the brands for features price and display size. Picture quality is excellent, network setup is straightforward and works fine (despite having DSL I have no problems streaming from my PC or Laptop towards the TV, using DLNA or PLEX) amazing features for picture adjustment, 3D content from 3D Blue-Ray discs is awesome, 2D to 3D conversion is excellent from HD sources. For a up-and-coming small to medium room the sound is adequate. No problems playing FPS (first person shooter) on PS3. Playing KZ3 in 3D is impressive. I have owned this set for about 1 month and i am very content with this purchase.

I checked the #D quality at the stores. It's amazing. It comes with WIFI adapter already UNLIKE other brands just claiming "WIFI capable (adapter not included)". We like to the "Magic" remote. Very easy to utilize. Main point here: High quality, great prize!
Extremely Happy
The TV is extremely good visually however the one thing that compelled me to publish this review will be the 2D to 3D feature. I figured I might find yourself the need to obtain a blu-ray with 3D and rent special 3D movies, site in order to the 3D but I was wrong. The 2D to 3D feature is usually tricking me. The only negatives to find are very minor... the blooming/flash light effect can be seen if black screens are displayed quickly when the back light is scheduled higher (although not when watching actual content) which may be fixed by arriving the local dimming settings to high and turning on the back light, along with the wifi requires a usb as opposed to internal that shines a blue light (really minor), and also the stand is has some wobble inside it (who cares really). And this is just being honest, really the only the things i can see anyone complaining about.... nothing as of this price to even bother about.
This is simply fantastic TV and the price helps as well. I recommend this TV.

My decision was mainly according to customers feedback, i will easily notice that we're thrilled with this product.
Incredible image quality with HD Direct TV channels or BluRay movies, highest bright and contrast, minimal power requirement compared to plasma.
The Smart TV functions look very cool; the wireless WiFI adapter worked flawless right out of the box, however I have not explore all the options since my Connection to the internet is very slow (512k downlink), and so i am upgrading it to some considerably quicker one.
I have never tested the total 3D capabilities of this TV since i have do not have a 3D source, the simulation that this TV itself could make towards the regular images. It's interesting, however i am sure that this experience is going to be totally different with proper 3D programs (In fact, I had to purchase the LG BD690 BluRay 3D player and some movies... waiting for them at the moment).
My old 720 lines LG plasma was really very good, but it's not rival for this new HDTV.

Finally I received my new LG BD690 Blu Ray 3D reader along with a number of 3D movies (Underneath the Sea and Space Station) and I am absolutely happy with the picture quality and also the depth effects. The 3D experience is incredible.
The 3D passive glasses are so comfortable and light you don't even believe you're with these, instead of the more heavy battery powered(or even wired) active glasses. I received four glasses with my TV, that's enough for me and my children however i am about to order some more since i have believe that my 3D set will become a point of atraction to our friends too.

1. Passive 3D glasses are happy and practical. We picked up a number of totally free from your local theater. Couldn't find comparable TVs for that price and convinience in Sony, Panasonic or Samsungs
2. You can chose various modes--movie, sports, standard, etc using a click of the button--gives you a significant range and provide dark Samsung-like colors
3. The wireless works great--I can watch videos, photographs stored on my small home network server
4. Contrary to some previous complaints, we have no problems watching Netflix--speed and quality is merely fine
5. It is light, easy to build and simple to use navigation (set the machine up within just an hour with no guidance from the manual
6. I like the wand and employ it instead of the remote control--if you're employed to Wii, the wand just works such as the Wii controller

To answer these question, I probably waited just because a tv this huge wouldn't fit into my car and i also wasn't certain that a delivery works well. However, the "white glove" service from Amazon's shipper, CEVA, was great. They carried it straight into my family area and unpacked the tv screen.
The only negative thing I have to have to say is not concerning the TV at all (and thus didn't impact the star rating). Great Picture, Great Wireless, Great 3D Experience
1. It associated with my wireless network super easy without the problems at all.

- Internet is great. We utilize the wired internet continuously to stream movies off Vudu.com. Vudu is a great service and we will no longer rent videos coming from a store, but watch nearly all movies and some TV shoes through vudu streaming service. This TV is extremely good only for that.
- Love the 3D. Ok there's hardly any 3D content to stream on the market yet as this is still pretty new technology. But the Avengers just became available in 3D version and it looked stunning. Just like staying at the theatre in my opinion. Love the 3D. Can't wait for an content capture around the technology then there is more 3D content on the market.
Some minor gripes include the pointer device to type things. It's just a little kludgy and slow. This could have been far better with many small keyboard device. But this is one of the first generation of TVs with internet and apps built-in. So not complaining much there. I'm sure that will probably be increased soon if not already. Ideally utilizing your smart phone to type things in could be the most suitable choice for typing/searching for content/apps etc.

The speakers are fine, however i have a very good tuner and speakers I'm also able to use. Remote Controls:

The web browser with the smartphone control app is really decent for navigating news sites. It comes with Adobe flash, but an adult version that numerous video sites usually do not support. I wonder if they'll update that.
You can connect to the internet via wire or a supplied USB wireless device (supports G & N protocols). Is very rewarding.
Video Games:
There is often a video way of games that shuts of all the so-called tv enhancements to attenuate game lag. Works great - I have not noticed any lag.
Summary:
The 5600 is overall a fantastic, well integrated package. It can be adjusted to generate a very natural looking picture that looks great in bright and dim lit rooms. The picture exceeds all my expectations. Blue ray DVDs are SPECTACULAR and 'regular" DVDs look fantastic. Used to do some homework in picking out a 3D player and finished up selecting the Panasonic ( 3D) 210. Works well using this TV.

I believe the same holds true while using "backlight" , Brightness" and Contrast of this LED edge lit , lcd pixel TV.
So I like to run using the "expert menu selection where I can "turn down" the lighting output. It needs a little becoming accustomed to because picture is less bright ( closer to the "cinema" selection mode offered inside the Television set up).
While the image is not as bright, the flesh tones and general color reproduction is way better compared to 'standard settings'
This TV is SPECTACULAR in a very brightly lit room or window daylight. This is its element. The sole complaint that some individuals have is always that because its an edge light LED design, in a really dark room you will get some 'brighter areas" throughout the edges when the picture content is a dark scene. For me its an "I don't care".
As to display size...Wow I pondered over this in a major way ( several trips with a big box store to check 47" vs 55".

I received my free AVATAR 3D blu ray disk ( with purchase of Panasonic 3d model 210 player). It was the very first 3D dvd I've viewed.. Standard blu ray DVD look fantastic in "3D simulated" mode . However , this "real 3d DVD absolutely is amazing. INCREDIBLE !!! Irrrve never seen anything as realistic. I didnrrrt buy my LG TV due to the 3D capability the good news is knowing what this unique TV are capable of doing, I'm glad I spent some more bucks for your feature.

The speakers are pointed all the way down therefore the sound happens in the bottom of the screen.
I paired up this TV having a Sony soundbar with sub. (Sony HT-CT150 3D Sound Bar System). I'm really satisfied with the outcomes. The TV includes a "Home Theater" setting for your sound. I like that the wireless adapter is protected. I don't really see the point in the motion controller, but there is an android app that allows you to control everything in your phone.
The television apps are okay. There aren't always exciting latest apps, but there are tons to work with most paid streaming video services. Other than those I would not expect the app market on here to develop a good deal, yet it's fine. That being said, the YouTube app can be handy, then there is also one for crunchyroll.
The only thing I can't like is that I think many of the menus might be organised better. Most of that time period it does not bother me, and i also really am glad this is the television I acquired

The picture is really clear, almost too clear, so for many forms of TV I like to soften the settings. The colors are deep and I haven't noticed many difficulty with the backlighting being inconsistent. It is often a personal thing, however i still choose to picture on a DLP, but we couldn't use that within our well-lit dining area upstairs.
3D is incredibly neat, kids like it. It's obviously less good as in the theatre as a result of screen size, but it is fun to watch stuff in 3D.

Great value for the TV
They both were non issues for me personally. This TV is about 50lbs or less, and mounted to my wall, which means light is minimal.
The 3D is passive which includes pros and cons:
pros: it might up-convert none 3D broadcasting to 3D, including Game titles! and the 3D glasses are super cheap
Cons: The 3D effect isn't as good as active 3D.
The only other negative in regards to the TV, which is super minor, may be the TV wants a USB stick (included) to access the wifi for netflix, apps, etc, understanding that USB stick includes a blue LED into it, kind of a none issue too the use of google TV or perhaps a PS3 for apps, streaming, netflix, and music.
All around great TV, bought this one after purchasing the LG 42" inside the same model since I loved it much! This thing is also super thing, a bit more than an inch thick, that is great should you be wall mounting because it's light, and also the profile is minimal because it can sit right facing the wall.
History:
My past TVs were 52" Samsung LCD, and 55" Vizo LED TV, this is a lot much better than both.

Excellent TV
Not having experience with HDTV, I spent time and effort researching different manufacturers, forms of sets, and models before finally settling on this.
The picture is excellent! This TV was very easy to create, HDMI cables transform it into a breeze. The 3D picture is superb, particularly for kids. There are numerous standard settings for several lighting conditions, and you will modify the picture yourself.
This LG TV includes a very wide viewing angle, and we've had no problems viewing the screen through the floor, etc. Kudos to LG. The sound is fine as they are, but a TV similar to this, you should WANT to hook it up with a nice head unit. Can't tell whether or not it is easy to order movies over internet because I've not tried, but it is definitely possible.
I would certainly recommend this TV to anyone, particularly if I could obtain it to last nearly last Thirty years, just like the last one I got myself.
Great 3D TV, Especially with this price!
Even in 2D it's a great TV. Love the internet options. It turned out simple to build and simple to move. The audio surpasses the Samsung I replaced. This doesn't happen come with AUDIO OUT though if you decide to require to use your multichannel audio for everything, pick-up an electronic digital optical cable ($5 on Amazon).
I replaced a 52" Samsung that opted for the ex. I'm suggesting I would not notice a positive change within the size. If something I prefer the 47" better given it doesn't dominate the area.

Very good TV, excellent price-value vs others
Will briefly describe many of the highlights of my experience:
- I noticed the lamp where TV is on its way it's less quality than Samsung, in order that it offers a first impression that it's less quality TV (but it is not)
- It's really a a bit more heavier than the Samsung D8000 which means you may considering getting help when mounting and/or lifting
- Very thin display, looks good and practical when mounting in wall. Top look with the TV is quite standard, nothing special concerning the frame or design except the screen that is matte avoiding distracting reflection.
- The wii style remote device is actually good especially when navigating thru apps menu (this is an unique feature vs others TV)
- I'd some issues connecting the TV to my network, if we do tweaking, I had been able to make it work.
- Apps selection is quite limited, but I found those who I had been interested on (Amazon, Vudu and Netflix). Samsung, for instance, doesn't have Amazon yet. Navigation is easy and apps start quickly, the truth is Netflix start in HD quality from your first second which is better than PS3 or Roku have a tendency to take some matter of moments to acquire full streaming speed...
Now the key for me, Video and audio quality:
- Out of the box TV shows a good image but nevertheless needs calibration to go to the most effective video reproduction.
- Excellent color accuracy
- For calibration, Color Management is the better I have come across...its provide you with full management of every one of the grey scale spectrum along with each primary and secondary color adjustment... if you decide to wish to accomplish an in-depth calibration with this TV, can be easily done in less time than others.
- While i calibrate the TV (leaving the majority of the TV video features off but local dimming on) along with looked very natural and balance in all of the video sources (DirecTV, PS3, etc).
- Image looks a bit bit soft (rival the Samsung D8000)but it's not really a significant problem.
- Black levels are fantastic, great screen uniformity considering this is a LED display, however, I have seen in BD play there was a bit white wave when only white with black background were present, but quickly went away and didn't bother me.
- This TV is 120hz, the velocity of video is fine for some although sometimes it is possible to see the lag of video speed when deal with fast pace images... (just like other priciest displays)
- The sounds on this TV may perhaps be slightly inferior on the average TVs, eventhough it appears to be something associated with the tv screen firmware, when i updated the software, the sound came ok however not at par on the best TVs.
- 3D playback is fine for some, not great but That's not me a major fan of watching 3d movies at home, the benefit of this kind of passive technology is glasses are just plastic without any batteries. I actually do agree with lots of the reviews that resolution in passive 3D is leaner than active 3d TVs.
Summary: should you prefer a nice size 55" without having to pay 2K+ with excellent color accuracy while take pleasure in the thin and luminance of an LED display, this is actually the TV for you personally... if you do not love luminance and you will be while using the TV in low light room, you may even think about plasma television like the Panasonic VT30 that will give you the best color accuracy and black levels however, you suffer from other difficulties that you can find when you compare LED vs Plasma.
Hope this can be helpful! I'm giving 4.5 stars (must give 5 in amazon since they avoid decimals). I do believe with this price, this is the best TV you should buy on this range. Even compared to a more costly model such as the Samsung D8000 (you can check my writeup on that one too!), I might choose the LG.
Best TV ever!
Amazon had this shipped by CEVA. We create the delivery time for 3 working days later (though it really should have been 2 with amazon prime....) between 1-4pm. At 3:50pm i checked the tracking to find out that which was going on and it showed the delivery date since the overnight. I called customer care at CEVA who stated it used to be on schedule. A couple of minutes later I received an appointment from the driver who stated he was ready 45 minutes away as well as on the worst road (in terms of traffic) within the DC area at rush hour. They became A couple of hours late but my tv is at perfect condition therefore i shouldn't complain.
It was quite simple to set up. We adjusted every one of the settings to the own preferences. The 3D is so ridiculous I cannot believe We have this inside my living room. HBO currently has Despicable Me at the moment in 3D. I'd already seen the film but tend to not stop watching it as a consequence of how cool the 3D looked. I felt like a kid. I truly do strategies watching 3D in the dark because it increases the effects. The passive shutter is apparently much easier about the eyes and head. I really do not understand why anyone would choose active. I've not found anything yet the 2D to 3D conversion has really worked for but I still try almost every new show or movie. The 2D HD is perfect. I could not request a better picture. This tv appears to be it is double as what we should paid. I can't wait to look at football tonight!
We have played around with the Smart TV. Its pretty cool too. Very easy to use. Most Youtube HD looks great (some were sub par) We discovered that Amazon has rentals cheaper than ON demand but not as many 3D selections. Netflix merely has a few streaming 3D movies. For that reason, I am not in a rush to secure a 3D blu ray player. Hopefully for Christmas we'll obtain one and begin our 3D movie collection.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend a better TV. Go to Greatest coupe and try out. You will not be disappointed. (I really do not think the people that gave it 2 stars had the settings create correctly. The TV is impossible to hate!)
Impressed with TV and Amazon
After struggling to acquire 5.1 (BluRay/Cable via HDMI to TV, Optical to Receiver) to my receiver I called LG, they walked me through just as much as they might. Then I referred to as the Blu Ray manufacturer, the course notes said its not their problem. Called LG back, get someone quite friendly and that he scheduled a property visit from an authentic LG tech. I described the problem, he said its probably a problem with the key board (oy!). So I casually talk about, are these claims halo on the left side with the set normal? It doesn't exist for the right side. He disapproves, certainly not, there exists underlying damage here. Which is the thing that I suspected all along but I was trying to find utilized to it. Imagine each of the "edge bleed" other reviewers complain about and multiply by 100. I told him don't bother with the repair, I'll just send it back. Therefore i called Amazon and arranged a return, got a new NEW set, same model.
Aside from the damage as well as the edge bleeding I'm very happy using this type of TV. This is my first HDTV and first TV with this size, first 3D anything also. Everything has become great. Discovering the "soap opera" effect was intriguing and I believed out the best way to rid myself of it. Honestly motion blur inside picture is common and is comfortable for the eye. Doing away with it will in fact make picture resemble an inexpensive soap opera. I surely could make Star Trek on BluRay look cheap because of that effect.
I just like a large amount of the features even though some can be difficult to find. I'm not just a huge fan of how LG has setup the menu and settings nonetheless its some of those things you get used to.

The TV: Obviously it is quite slim, and yes it feels just a little wobbley on the stand but I think that's to be expected. But anyways, it looks amazing. I connected the ability cable and connected my TW Cable box via HDMI. In a few moments I had been watching HD programming! I upgraded from your 27-inch Sony behemoth so obviously any TV would definitely look amazing in comparison. But this TV looks spectacular... especially after I calibrated it with all the CNET specs.
I love the apps, especially mlb.tv, for which I already stood a subscription. I quickly visited the mlb.tv website (upon my TV's request) and was able to activate my account and watch any baseball game in HD. Next I could out Netflix and was amazed how easy it was gain access to all of their streaming content (either by search or their recommended selections).
Next I could out your "magic motion" remote, that we dub the "wii remote". It works fine... much less responsive as the Wii remotes however you can come up through to it pretty easily.
Finally, we tested some 3D content via our TW Cable "on demand" content. The passive glasses took about 2 minutes for my eyes to adjust to but after that point, no headaches. Wonderful.
Great TV, great value. I paid somewhat over $1,000 (with CA sales tax) and possess since seen it on Amazon for only cheaper.... grab this up, you may be happy.|
3D TV
First set received were built with a mechanical refect on the stand and as an alternative to trying to repair same, Amazon quickly and promptly replaced the main TV (within Seven days for being notified).

What an excellent 3D television!
So now you're wondering how is the 2D picture...phenomenal! The colors pop off the screen like only an LED can deliver. And standard def dvds look better than ever too.
There certainly are a great number of picture setup options so everyone is going to be pleased, also it even comes with a auto picture mode (I think it's known as "Intelligent sensor") that adjusts the picture quality to check the area environment. Pretty cool. The SmartTV screen is basically cool too. It supplies a large amount of apps and web content that is a nice plus. There can be another wifi dongle that you simply plug in the rear so you don't even notice it from your front.
Oh and allow me to your investment magic remote. This set actually includes 2 remotes...a normal one along with a clever new invention termed as a magic remote, what sort of works being a Wii remote. You can pretty much discard the normal one for the reason that magic remote is much more useful. It makes getting around the menus a lot easier and quicker. Very clever addition indeed.
I do notice some minor "flash lighting" on the bottom corner of the screen, however it is not really too noticeable when viewing content. I can't really discuss audio since I use my receiver.
All in all of the I'm thoroughly impressed with this particular unit and should not say enough good stuff about it. Go LG!

The 2D to 3D works great. Watch any saved HD movies as if you are watching it initially. Overall if you have crosstalk or the picture looks bad, it isn't the television it is the source.
Nicest TV I've ever gotten, light years a lot better than the $4500 LCD RP bought in 05. (My spouse even loves this TV and kept wondering in the event the TV was coming).
